RDA, Paramotor Club Summer Fly-in and Party 2019
Event created by admin (Simon W)
Event details
This year we have chosen Cheltenham Spa as our location for the RDA, PMC main summer event. It honestly is an amazing venue!
Of course there will be Fireworks, Music, A selection of food vendors, 24-hour fire pit, and 24-hour licensed security. (more to come
)
What's this RDA thing???
This year, the PMC has chosen to support the RDA (Riding for Disabled) which is a super cool national charity who provide therapy through horse contact.
RDA research shows that riders experience significant positive change in their capacities for communication, confidence, enjoyment, relating, physical improvement and learning horsemanship.
Because this event is a Charity event, please note the slightly different pricing structure below.
Full PMC members £10 in the charity pot (pretty please)
Not a full PMC member and flying? £30 (or click > and join as a full member before the event for £30 and enjoy 3 fly-ins a year FOC!)
Non Flying guest, partner £25
Children under 16 £0
Tandem flights will be available (please PM well in advance if your keen)
There will be Fireworks! Big ones provided by fireworksshow.co.uk
Food, we have: Vegetarian and meat wraps van, pizza van, and a burger van. :
Of course there will be a 'heated' bar, and the fire pit (you do NOT need to bring logs this time!!
)
As always we will have the impossible to replicate, amazing PMC 'vibe' which is created by the awesome people that attend!
To quote the very first PMC t-shirt, It's the Pilots that make the Party!
(free pint for anyone that turns up that still has one of these!!) lol
More info to follow, 200 pilots max so please ensure you RSVP (log in and use the green button at the top of the page that says GOING )
As always, we hope to see you there!!!
PM or post a message if you have any questions.

Switched from a lighter Black Devil to a heavier Thor 303. Tank is full to it's maximum capacity ( 11L ) . Motor is mounted as near as possibile to my back. Despite I'm heavy, about 95kg, I needed to move all back my hang point. Unable to move them more back because there's no more holes on swing arms. And hang points are already very near to my chest. Still leaning too back for me. I'm worried about leaving harness during landing and twist due increased leaning plus increased motor torque. Unfortunately I'm unable to find my previous tests with Black Devil to compare, I remember that I had more reclination when tank was full, but I don't remember how much or if this much. But sure I was more straight, about 10°, maybe 5° or 0° when pressing to accelerator. Anyway I never fly with full tank, but in case this would me my position. p.s. added also some standing pictures for referenceWhat I've tried: - Loosing straps between harness and frame, didn't helped; - Move back even more hang point on an "illegal" position. Changed of about 1-3°, but still leaning, after I saw pictures I found that the position of swift arm is vertical, so adding a hole or using a "strap" connection wouldn't help. Actually I have no more ideas. I can try to shorten more swing arms but would result in a very near position to my shoulders. Anyway will require a drill or a custom swing arm. Original: 1 2 Measured: 3 Standing: 4 5 6 Here's holes to shorten arms, already used last. 7 Here's "Illegal" position: 8 Here's the result of the "Illegal" position: 9 Here's vertical position of the arm, adding a hole will just move lower hang point: 10

I just turn it on and then when you plug it in the light will go slightly brighter showing a positive charge. The batteries can be changed but best to send them back to Eddie to get that done. Adjustment wise.... if they are clipped in as far as possible you can slightly bend the metal arms for a better fit. SW -
Good evening all, Ive got a couple of questions about the microavionics pm100 radio.... being a newbie! Is there a way to tell if its charging when plugged in apart from it getting warm? Is the battery replaceable? Is there any adjustment to make it fit my head better? Feels like it let's in alot of external noise. Thankyou!
