Dear club members,
Hi,
I have just assembled and bench tested DLE 200 cc engine with premium mufflers on a paramotor frame. Even after few minutes of running my propeller gets oil smeared as shown in the photo. I want to ask what could be the problem? I am using gasoline with 40:1 JASO FD oil, as recommended by its manual for break-in period.
YMMV but I didn't. Yes it's 50:1. I figured it's so clean and developed for professionals everything would be OK. I've used it on three motors from new. Never added extra oil or extra fuel to the mix.
Engines may be run-in at 50:1 with differing results. Not all engines are the same. Always read the manufacturer's instructions. Your engine may be at risk if you don't. 😉
