  3. That's why I suggested there may be a need for wing with shorter lines...thus allowing the full motor thrust to used without creating too high a climb angle.
  4. If motors keep getting more powerful, then there will be a need for wings with shorter lines!
  5. Well done guys. Nice to see a happy ending and Connor doing well!
  6. Hi, thanks. What I have found is that it it can be quite difficult to put just the right amount of power on and hold it there. By directing the prop blast above the wing to start with I can select half throttle, hold it there, then launch by standing up straight and starting the run all in one go.
  7. I don't understand your comment. Even the video you post shows the guy running the engine up with it angled such that the prop blast does NOT hit the wing.
  8. These are brilliant..... https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/583825
  9. With the help of Dan, who I fly with, I think I have got power launch working well now. I have settled on about half power. On one launch I had too much power and my thumb was pushed through the A triangle link and got stuck! I've found the best way for me is to be set up with A's just held taught, Then lean forward enough so that the prop blast does not hit the wing. Put throttle to half power. Then start to run and straighten up at the same time so the prop blast now launches the wing. Video below yesterday.
  10. Yep, I have repaired little dings with polyester resin and some micro fibres mixed in.
  11. How's this for paramotor transport to the beach?
  12. I am here half the year. Three UK guys put all their gear in a pallet box, had it shipped to my place, then flew over for 4 days. Today was nice all day! Here's a clip from today...
  13. Four of us flying over Estepona. Three made it back to our take-off beach. One broke down and had to be collected later. Left him sunbathing here!
  14. You maybe right about agility of lighter machines. I switched to a lightweight machine and saved 10 kg. At the same time I lost 12 kg myself. I don't think I can really tell any difference. I only pootle around.
  15. I'll raise you a chopped hand! This was the throttle hand pulled into the prop by slack throttle cable last year. Graphic warning. Scroll down only if you like to see horrible accidents...... You have been warned....... Told you.

My friend Dan was helping me get better at power forward launches today. This was attempt number 2.. Then a bit flying over Puerto Banus. Watch me do a 360 deg flying with the Seagulls at 10.14 into it. Then a very fast landing in still zero wind...not so much as a twitch on the wind sock!
  17. Guy, holding both brakes at 2 really helps a lot. The test I did was with no brakes. However, that flight was sufficiently gusty to require some active inputs to not get sea-sick! Just been flying now in zero to 2 knots and wing is absolutely dead stable. Here is Puerto Banus harbour 2 hours ago,
  18. Go to Parafest and see all the machines in one place!
  19. The wing loadings are all listed. Here is Ozone specs for my wing... http://flyozone.com/paramotor/en/products/gliders/roadster2/specifications/ There is much debate whether you should be towards the top, bottom or middle of the ranges shown. One thing that is certain is that a more loaded wing is less likely to have collapse issues in turbulent conditions. Hence, many advocate being towards the top end of the range. I started near the top end on my wing, then lost loads of weight.....now putting me on the middle. I haven't noticed any difference!
