  1. Cheers Alan. I have also been considering trike attachment if/when it gets too difficult to carry!
  2. I have a spare carb for my 190. The first would not work right. Worked really well ever since.
  3. I have Scheuermann's desease....basically many knackered discs in back. Was in a wheelchair 5 years. After more surgeries, 5 months in hospital and a year learning to walk....I then took up PPG. I am very fit, but also very knackered! I can't walk far without using walking poles. The knock-on of this is that I only ever want to do one take off. After that I have to wait quite some time. Since completing training in June last year I have flown 23 times with 28m Ozone and Parjaet 190. Rather weirdly, only 1 reverse launch and all the others in virtually no wind. The run is really very easy as with the larger wing only the first 10m really has the weight on, then it's all a hop, skip and don't jump (I keep hearing instructor say!). Out of the 23 flights all got off first time................well actually one I failed first time, but then gave up, so technically tried 24 times The key to getting it right first time........if your back hurts like crap you learn to be very patient and wait till everything is perfect. If the wind shifts a little, just wait.
  4. I get just under 4 l/hr with Thor 190. I am 90kg.
  5. Hi, I am in Yarm. I have a nice farmer near Hutton Rudby where I can fly. Also considering flying off the beach by you. Let me know if you have progressed to flying or want to chat. Andy

  6. Has anyone made the fuel tank on a Parajet V3 removable....easily?
  7. I flew in Magrat del Mar last year. Brill place, not many other beach users (apart from a Belgian Paramotor team!). Just watch where you wander as there are many 'ladies' hanging around nearby!
  8. Hi, Just been chatting with Tom at Parajet re getting trike. He said you are the person to talk to re CAA approval in UK. I  would guess I qualify as being registered disabled. I do manage foot launch, most of the time, but my legs don't always comply and I am getting good at face planting without too much pain!

I also can't carry too much fuel as weight prevents me picking it up. When in the UK I fly from a 10 acre flat grass field which seems perfect (just outside the Durham Tees Valley airspace).

I can help to point you in the right direction for sure. There is currently a delay with the applications but still worth sending one in for sure. I will send you a PM with the information you need.

Another person to talk too, (and in fact the better person for this) is Francis Rich.

  9. Yes, Thor 190, elec start. I find that after the engine is off for a few mins it won't re-start. This even means that after warming up engine before flight, it needs a quick re-prime before strapping in and going - failure to do so is rather annoying....especially when on my own. However, I have found that that just pressurising the fuel line with the bulb, whilst turning over the engine also works. Thus, if I move the priming bulb, should be problem solved. Has anyone moved the primer somewhere better? If so where? I am not familiar with other makes as learned on Parajet etc.
  10. My 35kg half scale RC plane has a 14kw elec motor. Even with 12kg of batteries it will only give 10 to 12 mins on medium power and 7 mins on high power (aerobatics).
  11. Just for completeness......even a charger designed for a lipo can still result in a very large fire. They don't usually explode, well not until the first cell that fails and is burning heats up the one next to it. I fly model planes and back in the early days of lipos (2001) I charged them on top of a 12" ceramic tile for safety. Bad idea. When the lipo caught fire the tile got so hot it just burned through the unit under it. Lipos should only be charged with a good balance charger that effectively charges each cell individually and hence keeps each cell voltage within spec. Also, use a fire-proof charging bag, because they do still go up in flames occasionally.
  12. Will an NRV for diesel last long with petrol?
  13. I find dislocating my right shoulder and reaching behind for the priming bulb works well. The problem is my arm then won't work any more! Has anyone got the priming bulb where you can reach it? As an alternative I have considered fitting a very small electric pump that can be run for 5 seconds to do the priming. Anyone done this?
  14. Anyone live in Teesside or nearby?
