  1. Expensive and really bulky.. I think you will struggle to fit the sensor on the Mav Tank PPG meter is the way to go if you want fuel level or fuel flow.. CHT EGT WTS, RPM, Tacho, Etc etc the list goes on!!
  2. And the dealer you bought it off didn't advise you if changing from helix to E props you need longer bolts?? amateur!!!
  3. You can easily damage you prop shaft or final drive assembly if it is a hard hit.. E Props do weigh allot less than say a Helix, One Helix blade on a V5 used to weight the same as a complete E prop... They spin up much quicker and IMO give better Eco and less noise at cruise.. We do keep most E props for the Polini Range and we hope to have Moster E props in stock once E props are back from there summer break..

  7. Yank.. When i used to deal with Bailey Paramotors I used to get things like this all the time, Phone calls saying I can't start it!! there's something wrong with it!! Normally when they returned the Machine I would fire it up 1st second pull. There is a technique to starting baileys sometimes... I'M NOT saying there isn't anything wrong with your motor.. Probably best if you give me a call if you can as there are a few things you and do try before going down mechanical work as most do not need it... Give me a call on the Sussex Paramotors mobile number if you want Regards Mark
  8. Liam are you buying secondhand or new... If buying a Thor200 i would air on the side of caution. It should kick out around 70kg of thrust. They have now been redesigned to the 200 Evo. If you are going trike the Thor250 is a far superior engine.. if you have a bad knee have you thought about trike? You can go down the ultra light weight route but IMO what you loose in weight you loose in strength.. Go bend the frame on some before you buy.. Might be an idea if you can get to parafest to see most of the Brands
  9. Hi Chris.. Your using the Polini PWK 24mm carb for the Thor80? It may not be just when your flying... Sometimes with this heat the pressure in the tank can overcome the low jet in the carb causing either flooding of the motor or fuel getting into the Air box or both, Also depending how you get up of the floor can cause fuel to poor into the Airbox.. Both of these issues are the same back in the day when i used to fly Bailey engines with the CVK carbs.. Also over priming can cause this. The fuel evaporates but and leaves the oil in the Airbox.. Nothing to really worry about.. The pulse pipe on the Thor 80 doesn't go back to the carb but to the pump and comes from the Crank not Exhaust so that will not be the issue.. This just makes the pump, Pump... Have you changed your fuel pump set up? Bin the metal pump fitted as standard to the Thor 80 and fit a 130-190-200-250 pump with external primer bulb. The membrane in the metal pump fails.. You may just find your running rich jetting if your motor is still new and running on the run in settings, Also Hot weather will make your motor run richer add the High pressure we have even richer, same goes for running at high altitude the higher you go the richer your motor becomes.. Hope this helps, you have my number but best to call your PAP dealer to confirm jet settings etc Also make sure you have a good Temp gauge on your motor!!!!!! Regards Mark
  10. was just going to post the same thing... Glad you got it sorted!!!
  11. The new scimitar Prop covers should be ready by now. We can order them but don’t stock them yet @sussexparamotors Regards mark
  12. Allot of new pilots think thermals are dangerous, I guess they can be if you have no clue what your doing but with training and knowledge they are great and bring a different side to PPG flying Feel free to give me a call on the Sussex Paramotors mobile number anytime
  13. I get around 100 hours a year... So in answer to your question of course it's suitable to the UK.. As a new pilot your weather window will be slightly more restrictive but the quicker you gain experience and fly with experienced pilots your sky will open up. Those who fly alone or with other new pilots tend to fly less. IMO..
  14. what wing you trying to get a demo on?
  15. Hi The V4 200 is around 36kg and has a claimed thrust output of 60kg 50-55kg in the real world making it heavy and fairly underpowered... Good for XC flying with around 2.5-3 LPH depending on wing loading.. If your going to buy one make sure you go and try it on for size due to the weight add 10 litres fuel and a reserve your looking at 45kg... Also make sure it has had a good service and has been looked after as they do tend to have running issues if left for long periods of time. Also make sure it has all the upgrades
  16. For anyone who uses us for parts Please be aware i will be away from the 5th April and will not be back in the UK until the 23rd, Some orders may have a slight delay in posting or won't be posted until i return.. The last day for postage will be before 11am on the 5th..
  17. I would contact Bailey direct... they used to mod there carbs...
  18. Unless you have weighed the fuel in you won't know how accurate the markings are!! most of the machines i have owned and tested have been slightly out... you only have to be 50ml out per Litre to make your 4.5 litre per hour 4.75. 50ml even 100ml spread out over the flat area of the tank i impossible to see so no matter how Flat the surface you put you motor on or how accurate you think the marking are... This is why they weigh fuel out for each pilot at PPG comps... Anyway as long as your happy and never run out of fuel thats all the matters..
  19. tank markings are not accurate enough to measure fuel consumption Accurately. weight the fuel and put it in your tank or even better Try a fuel burn test and report back
