  1. I would say there were allot of illegal trikes out there that do not really come under the 70kg cat but are still regularly sold in the UK, You even see tandem trikes being sold in the UK, I saw two at the PMC fly in.. i did not see them flying tho... Is it really down to the Owner/customer to make the choice to buy an ilegal trike/quad or is it up the the manufacturer/dealer to not sell the Ilegal trike set up.. If there were no drug addicts there would be any drug dealers and visa versa ...
  2. I have never used venting for the Comp bottle, people do as it means you can do multiple tests during one flight but the more connections you have the more issues your likely to get.. (main tank - primer bulb - comp bottle - fuel pump - carb) NO... Main tank, Comp bottle in, Comp bottle out to primer, Primer to Pump pump to carb (At the moment it is main tank - primer bulb - fuel pump - comp bottle - carb (with gravity feed and vented return to the main tank).) You have both Gravity and pressure thats is most likely causing it to overcome the bottom end jet.. even if you remove gravity you will still have Pressure and will covero come the Bottom end jet.. Flooding happens on a hot summers day with a standard V5 or V5S if you leave it in the sun for to long... Try tank-bottle-bulb-pump-carb. The pump is actually getting a much easier life than it would be sucking the fuel up from the tank so this has no problem. you just need to make sure your using good quality fittings and new tygon 4.8mm fuel tubbing.. Also use two Quick breaks so you can remove the fuel bottle from the system in a few seconds when you do not need it for a task and only use it when your on an eco task. This cuts out any chance of landing out due to a failure of any sort in the system..
  3. My system goes from tank to bottle and then to the primer bulb to pump then carb...The carb feed pipe is fitted below the cap and the clunk goes to the base of the bottle.. The return system is not touched and is the standard system.. You will have to manually fill the Comp bottle before flying, Make sure it is FULL and no air at all... If you have a pressure/gravity issue that i think your suffering with try having the pump after the bottle. Pressure will overcome the low end jet causing rough running..
  4. Comp bottles are a royal pain in the arse and best left off unless you really need them.. You won't need them for the UK comps as we do not use weighed out fuel.. it's only if your going to go to international comps where they will give you 1-2kg of fuel so a comp bottle is vital.. There are many ways to set up a comp bottle and depending on your engine/fuel set up will change the type you use.. My advice would be do not use one as they cause more land outs due to leaks etc than running out of fuel does... I can not remember how my V5 comp bottle was set up, but it works the same or has the same fuel set up as my 250... You may find you have a few issues with your set up.... One over pressurization of the bottle or two you have the bottle too high up both causing flooding.. Having the pump before the bottle will give you a pressurized Bottle system where having the pump after will give a vacuum system first system can cause fuel leaks if your bottle is not watertight the other air leak.. try lowering your bottle.. My V5 bottle was fixed to the two cage spars, my 250 is at shoulder height on the chassis.. by lowering it you rule out gravity causing the issue, or try just using the bottle with the cap open to rule out pressure or removing the fuel pump pipe, if neither of these work you need to try a new system altogether.. But i have always used the hernia style systems.. Photo of my comp bottle, not very good photo but its all i have, 1111comp by mark.morgan07, on Flickr
  5. The New Format looks good!! It should encourage some new blood to the comp scene..
  6. There are two options for Netting style on the Macfly to choose from... Standard cage sor folding Photos of the Standard Option Macflfdbd by mark.morgan07, on Flickr Macfltfds by mark.morgan07, on Flickr Action shot Macfly dubai by mark.morgan07, on Flickr Macfly dubai1 by mark.morgan07, on Flickr
  7. Quads are not that popular compared to Trikes and there are not many to choose from.. If your instructor can not recommend a good one that suits you, Best to just have a good look around choose the one that you like and suits you or your paramotor.. The only ones that spring to mind would be the Nirvana quad and the Kangook but i think these are designed for there own Paramotor frames. I have seen a few Nivana Quads at international comps and they look good.. imo...
  8. The Falco is really a tandem trike you can fly solo so would have to be made strong = more weight.. MacFly mini trike 10.6 kg 42.6kg with a Thor 250 or 31.6kg with a Thor 80
  9. No machine is perfect Simon.. some are just designed better than others.. some machines suit X pilot and others suit Y, we always tailor a sale to what the Pilot wants not just what we sell and have advised in the past to buy something more suitable to there needs not just selling the Newest Machine in there range like some!!! I guess its the same when you look at the machines with generic geometry and have multiple engines in the same frame set up, they will fly ok with 1 motor but torque like a bitch with another...Anyone got any Lamels?? Hahahha.... Anyway i need to go and check my Crumple zones.. Yeehaaaaaa...
  10. The New PAP tinox uses the same style these are Great machines!! ParaElement used by the Polish team and very popular in poland also uses this same style.. Some would argue that most of the Net's used today are Flimsy and break to often and have too much give... I know i had to replace or fix my Zenith netting multiple times, Not due to prop damage but due to wear... One of our customer has over 250 hours on his machine and has not worn out his 'netting mine is 3 years old but i see all the time people moaning about the flimsy nettings and have had to replace after a few hours of use!! Costing them well over £100-£150.... Flimsy is not my words, these were taken from a Review recently done
  11. I have crashed my motor once coming in at 8mps and walked away but i have not crashed the other two.. But comparing all 3 flexing the cages, it's clearly stronger. Just using netting as a generic term.. but it is just one complete line not multiples and I have done all sorts to try and get the throttle and my hand through the "netting" while in the hang rig but have not been able to do it.. I know many people who have had to have new netting on the other paramotors.
  12. Everyone that tried one on and tried to bend the cages at parafest were all surprised how light and how strong it really is. The lacing on the Standard and folding cage is very easy to replace if you ever break it. unlike others that use rivets or loops made from the same material. If your unlucky enough to break it We normally keep the netting in stock and sent it out for free.
  13. I do.. come and test it for yourself..
  14. also when your editing your posts... LOL... have a good day... safe flying
  15. I'm am dyslexic and your not making sence... so sorry i can't read what your trying to say so Mark has left the building..
  16. Yes tony i have used both gin on the Paramania wings and Ozone on Ozone wings, I didn't say either was better i just do not have any issue with the force it takes to remove the Ozone handles from the rear riser... If you do fair enough change them.. Yes i do sell Ozone wings, one reason why i was commenting on the small size VS cost question you had I have seen many pilots with poor technique taking off with modern wings in nill wind without power launching. If you want to power launch feel free... It really is not needed especially on the Freeride. I think you need to read the Freeride manual again Tony as it doens't say you CAN NOT do a power forward, they advise not to as it may upset the way the wing comes up.. I wasn't asking you to post up your video for a dick wanging competion, i just like seeing people use there wings properly!! Yes i am a comp pilot classic and slalom but i am not an acro pilot by any means. It's a different skill set to slalom flying.. Big ears is not an acro manoeuvre by the way its an siv type and i have never ever heard of anyone keeping the brakes on the magnets when doing spirals or Sats??? Good luck with the rest of your testing... fly safe
  17. The MacFly Moster plus 185, Full T2 Titanium chassis and cages, optional 10/12 & 18 litre tanks, Acro Arms for the Crazy Acro pilots, Folding or standard cages.. Comes standard with E props plug and fly propeller and Carbon seat board. Designed and build By Jean Mateos in France and developed by Alex Mateos and Marie Mateos. 24.5kg MacFly1_Front_16x9 by mark.morgan07, on Flickr 38017311_1899399683453692_2642341185615560704_n by mark.morgan07, on Flickr MacFly1_Quarter_Right_1920 by mark.morgan07, on Flickr MacFly1_Quarter_Left_1920 by mark.morgan07, on Flickr Prices are £5700 for the Folding cage or £5600 for standard Cages,
  18. I was about to post this up on a different thread... another unit that might fit into the same category your looking at. 24.5kg same weight as the Mav not as light as the AC but way stronger than the AC and Mav so sits very nicely in between both.. 19. Hi Tony what size are you demoing at the moment? In answer to your comment about Less equaling more, Less Material small sizes yes your right but what you have to take into consideration is the manufacturing times. The Free ride is a 56 cell wing compared to a speedster that's a bit cheaper but larger sizes 54 cell wing. Go to the Roadster 3 its a 48 cell wing.. The Internal structure is also different.. I have not had any issue with the strength of the Magnets on any of the Ozone wings i have flown but i guess this is personal chose opinion.. I'm not sure i understand your sats spirals bit? I am not really sure why you need to use a POWER launch on the Freeride, I only have to look at mine or sneeze and she is over my head. IMO the Power launch is an old technique really not needed with the modern wings. Would love to see you doing some Sats on the freeride.... Post up a video.... Safe flying!!
  20. You should check out the Nvolo Helmets, full carbon construction and conform to EN966 standards for aviation, Hand Made in Italy Available in visible Carbon, Camo, painted, or if you want custom Paint, Lots of radio options inc Bluetooth.. There not cheap but they are hand made and full Carbon construction not Plastic... I've had mine for a while now and have also sold a few with some great feedback from owners... Photos of my custom Macfly/ozone clear carbon IMG_0937 by mark.morgan07, on Flickr IMG_0936 by mark.morgan07, on Flickr You can follow the links to more photos of some of the helmets we have in stock
  21. Just work out your Ave speed and the fuel burn this will give you your range. For people who want to fly for one or two hours max or two hours and a bit in reserve just incase then most of these engines will be fine.. but if you want to fly say a 100km triangle I doubt you will make it... Go test/try before you buy.. we regularly fly to a friends field 45mins away, Have a chat and brew then all head to the beach and have a wang around another 60 mins land again, then fly home 45mins to an hour sometime this could turn into 3 hours if we have great conditions for playing on the beach... Just make sure your buying the machine that suits your flying or the flying you will want to do..
  22. I am not test pilot so have not had the privilege to have flown one yet, we have some on order so i will hopefully fly one as soon as they come in.. apparently Speed has been increased and a new internal structure..
  23. possibly not, generally wooden props have a thick root..
  24. normally the lighter weight engines are very fuel hungry.. Moster ave 5lph same for the nitro 200, 280 to be confirmed but Vince said he flew 40 mins the other day and burnt about 4.2 litres flying a 20m Luna 2.. 6.3lph !!!! Mav only has a 10 litre tank so max flight time 2 hours or 60-70km So what you need to ask your self is what kind of flying you want to do and for how long. if you just want to blast around for an hour take your pick of the light machines, but if you want to go for longer... light also comes with some minor draw backs with strength.. Go and flex some of them and see for your self... some not all are suffering with Netting issues.. If you have Knee issues and want to fly more than 60-70 km i would start to look at trike... Have a look on XC planner mark out some places you would like to fly to in your local area and work out distance etc..
  25. No one in the Uk has one, we have some on order but i am expecting a fairly long wait 6-8
