  1. I would be up for a flight after work if you would still be around!
  2. Hi All, I intend to go flying tommorow late afternoon \ early evening, Morgy and Terresa have both said they might be there. Time still to be confirmed, but looking like the gate will be open from 16:00 unless anybody would prefer earlier. Any other takers? Barry
  3. No it the power exhaust but with a second ball and socket joint. So it should be the best of both worlds. I will post a photo once I have installed it. Time will tell
  4. As per the title really. Is it quieter looser or tighter? Difference in power between tighter and looser caused by change in back pressure? Fuel Consumption any difference? Thanks.
  5. If it were me I would work it out by making sure that the prop is exactly in the middle of the cage i.e. with the same gap between the prop and cage all the way round and then fit the engine in that position.
  6. I get a tiny bit of torque steer at full throttle but not a problem in the slightest. And when I am under the wing I do not get any gyroscopic wobble, It only does it on the test rig. I guess it is because in the air the forces are converted differently. The harness does scoop me off the ground, wich is one of the reasons for going for the EC Extreme, I tried the kobra and could not get into the seat because of my build. I am hoping to go flying over the weekend and I will check the cht and rpm. Barry
  7. I am wating on a spare part for my motor, it is due for delivery tommorow. If it arrives I am up for some flying any tim over the weekend.
  8. A very exicting day was had. [youtubevideo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeJ4t7_kX0I[/youtubevideo]
  9. One thing that I found with the nucleon, the manual says that the trims should be on full slow i.e. -5, but I found at this setting that the wing had a tendancy to hang back and then swing off to one side. I found that in exactly the same conditions that if i adjusted the trims up a notch or two i.e. -3 or -2 it came up much better. I assumed that it would have a much faster take off speed but to be honest I did not notice the difference. It also makes a big difference in a light wind reverse launch. Barry
  10. Hi, With regard to repairing the netting, I am not sure of the official way, but if it were me I think I would drill out the old pop rivets and just replace the whole netting. I am not sure of where you would get the netting to match exactly what you have, but if you get stuck, most chandlerys have netting on the roll. Barry
  11. What would be the script with non flying partners on this trip. Allowed / not allowed ? Cost difference etc. Other things to do for non flyers / bad weather etc.
  12. Pete do you have a good easy way of checking thrust?
  13. Hi Pete, Have a look here. viewtopic.php?f=64&t=6395

Please disregards my first post it is the flytec M1 and B1 system I got. Sorry I had looked at quite a few and forgot which one I ordered in the end. But to clarify the M1 has CHT, RPM and Fuel. And the B1 is the vario, and it is wireless to the M1.

Just bought one of these. Cracking bit of kit (pricey though), there support is very quick. So an email to them should get a definate answer. But I would say yes.
  16. I have been reliably informed that the grass (small jungle) has now been cut, so we should be good to go from Hambrook again. With that in mind can I just remind everyone to familiarize themselves with the restricted\ no fly zones, and remember to give sufficient notice to either Mark or I if you intend to fly. For any who are interested the gate will be open at 15:00 today and Kevin and I (Possibly Mark) intend to fly there sometime this evening. Thanks Barry
  17. Hi Mark, Tersa and Kev were sure it was Peter taking off from the place we discussed, I think Teresa said she had his number if you wanted a chat. Barry
  18. Jusst out of curiosity what does the optional capacitors do? I added them, I would just like to know what difference it makes?
  19. Alan, Thanks very much for you help, that diagram worked perfectly. (including sidetone)
  20. http://youtu.be/ToiZWN-1DlU selsly common stroud.are you thinking of going free flying.it is an avon club site perfect for low air timers and ex/for xc on the same road as the sail plane club. Thanks you, but it would help if I could read the difference between Selsey and Selsley.
  21. Hi Seymore, Love the video, how do you rate the go pro. It seems to provide really high quality video, but what about battery life and helmet fixings? Barry
  22. Hi Mark, That is great news, just in time for the good weather Teresa and I are intending to fly on tuesday evening 18:00 onwards (ish) I have asked for the field to be opened up at 16:00. Let me know if you are up for it. Barry
