  1. Hey guys, Just so you know, Andy Shaw at Green Dragons Paragliding in Warlingham, Surrey is keen to get Paramotor pilots there to start/form a club. There will be an annual charge for access to the site (so that he can keep the farmer from turning the paramotor field into a horse paddock) but he's really welcoming and is eager to get more pilots flying there. It's a fantastic site on the top of the North Downs with views over London and easy access out to flights all over Surrey and into Kent. He held a good fly-in there last year. I said I'd post a message here...so if you are interested in coming along to fly there, let me know or give him a call. It's the first stable flying site we've had in this area for a long time. Just FYI - You will probably need some form of insurance (BHPA, PMC, Other) to be able to fly there. But it's a good idea to have some form of insurance anyway. All the best Steve
  2. Hey all. I was planning to resume teaching this spring but I've managed to pull a muscle in my back which I am being told may need physio. I am therefore ground bound and unable to groundhandle a wing or teach effectively. I will reopen the website contact page as soon as I am back up and running. All the best Steve Haze
  3. Just an update to this... Bulldog (Clive) and I have now got in contact and as of today, parts are on there way to me, to then get to Phil. Should be sorted A.S.A.P. now. Steve
  4. Oooh. This is getting ugly, publicly. Sadly, I did not receive an email response from Clive - so maybe something has happened with email reception between Clive and I. These things can happen, and a simple communication failure (through the internet) can easily escalate if a customer feels ignored. Clive has always been amazing at supporting both customers and dealers - and while I was trying to help Phil, I didn't do as much to sort this as I could have. I've not been selling anything Bulldog or Dudek related for a while as I'm currently on a hiatus from teaching (and therefore selling) but I was surprised that I didn't get a reply from Clive to my email and I told Phil that I hadn't heard anything. What I should have done was follow the emails up with a phone call, and for that, I apologize to both Phil and Clive. I'm only human, and my attentions have been elsewhere away from the world of paramotoring for a while. It's no excuse, really, because it means Clive has ultimately had his name brought up negatively where it shouldn't have been. It was a failure on my part. Like I said - Clive has always been a huge asset to me as a school and a good friend. SO...to fix this, I'll be trying to contact Clive in about 30 seconds or so after I press post and hopefully we can get this resolved quickly. To Clive, I will say: - If I am unable to reach you within the next few hours, for whatever reason, can you please contact me - not via email so that I can sort this all out. Now....where's my phone....
  5. Hey All, Being a school, I'm on the front lines for complaints about low-level flying... So....Does anybody recognise this pilot? A member of the public has contacted me asking me to remind him about the 500ft rule. Now I do like a bit of low-level flying, but he's been doing it over a busy beach where young people were riding horses. - He buzzed the horses waving whilst flying over West Wittering beach in the last 24 hours. (Last night or this morning - she didnt say). The lady emailed me rather than the CAA, so this is not a telling-off...just a reminder that there are better places to fly. PM me if you are this person and I will remove the image. Thanks Steve Haze
  6. I should avoid flying over Dan Burton?
  7. Hey all, Does anyone here fly near Exter at all? I'm visiting my in-laws on Wednesday who live near Cullumpton (north of Exeter) and I was hoping to take my kit with me to get a cheeky flight either Wednesday evening or Thursday morning/evening. Can anyone help with a good location to fly from and any areas to avoid (besides those on the airmaps)? Thanks Steve Haze Paramotor Instructor West Sussex
  8. I used to live and fly in this area. Not many takeoff spots, really. Best person to speak to is Luke Banks. He lives in Banstead. I'll drop him a note for you, to let him know about this post. All the best Steve Haze Wing And A Chair Paramotors & Paragliders
  9. Hey folks, Any chance you guys can find out who this chap is and re-educate him about the 500ft rule? I spoke to a local pilot, who saw this chap fly over his house and said it was a Blue Speedster wing. If anyone knows who it is, please get them to give me a call so I can just have a chat and let them know where this chap lives so that they can avoid his house. Thanks Steve Haze Wing And A Chair.COM
  10. Not necessarily. But they are a different tone.
  11. Just a note about the noise... Have you heard of the Noise-Cone? Draw a cone from your point in the sky down to the ground below. If you are higher, then your engine noise covers a larger surface area. Basically, the higher you are, there is more area below that your engine noise will be audible. So once might say that although it is slightly louder, being lower is less annoying as the noise is only over a small area for a shorter length of time. Just food for thought.
  12. That's mighty generous of you Mr W'. Thank you very much!
  13. I have a picture of that chap Peter (who got fined for flying low) standing up in his PG harness, steering by weight shifting. Madness!
  14. Barry at Homestead Farm in Guildford allow camping and flying.
  15. What is more entertaining it the team's saying on the page for 2012 (in Spain). "COGER EL TORO POR LOS CUERNOS" They have this as "To Take The Bull By The Horns". In Spain the word "Coger" is perfectly fine and means to catch/grab/grasp, but in Latin America it means "to f#ck". So the team's saying for Spain 2012 (as viewed by someone in Latin America) has an entirely different meaning!! Steve
