  1. Hi Vince, It has not been working for months for me You are not alone, the option is at the bottom of each post to "Notify me when a reply is posted", but as I say it has not woked for me for many months (at a guess 6 - 7)
  2. Go to your local dealer and buy some decent kit I am sure that is the advice I was given.
  3. I used this video to find out where any faults i was having were. also this makes some quite interesting reading. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3782&start=0
  4. Checking if this works. Seems to be working for me.
  5. As per title really what do people consider the best POV camera to get. I know that the Gopro range always come out really well but I remember hearing about a new Sony camera that is supposed to be brilliant. But I cant find any information about it. Once I have a list of contenders I might jus make it a poll so that others can see it easily in future. Thanks
  6. I have mine on a lanyard around my neck, and then stick the camera into my jacket (Zipped up during takoff and landing) and then just un zip it and go. I have a side mounted reserve and this works for me. Have you considered a side mount reserve Sorry cant be of any more help.
  7. I just insured with them, they are very helpful. I emailed them the form, (Serial Number of glider needed, it is the wing that is insured i.e. anyone can fly it) And then followed up with a phone call, and paid by card over the phone. (€5 Charge for paying by card) Email of insurance arrived shortly afterwards, with a paper copy in the post.
  8. I would double check the tension of the belt it sounds like it is chiriping i.e. a little bit loose.
  9. As above I think the pop off pressure could be a bit out
  10. I have not flown either, however I would choose the Thor because of the brand name and I like the idea of a counter balanced crank to reduce vibration
  11. Hi Simon, I know what you mean, the problem was that I wanted the whole picture to be a thumbnail, but it has only selected a corner of the picture wich means all you can see is wall. I tried deleting the picture so I could do a new thumbnail, it uploads the file again but I did not get a choice to create a new thumbnail. Thanks
  12. Thanks, it would not load in firefox, but worked ok in i.e. Think I need to check my plug in settings
  13. Am I missing something here, is there a link or picture somewhere?
  14. http://www.paramotorclub.org/auction/item.php?id=86 I have just put this up for sale. Slight issue, it does not seem to do the tumbnail correctly, does any one know how to change the thumb nail? Thanks Barry
  15. I would say both are scams. Same advert as ebay a few weeks later for 2K less - not going to happen. Morgy knew the original owner and possibly the new owner (I think they are forum members)
  16. I am 105kg and I fly the 30m speedster and it is perfect for me. I also considered the 33 as I was changing from a 34 nucleon. But I am glad I went for the 30 in the end so I can use it for pg as well.
  17. Try it at 6, which from memory is only about 1/2 inch more than you are on now. And let us know how you get on.
  18. What number do you currently land on?
  19. All year round here too, heated gloves in the winter.
  20. After hearing Michelle, Morgy and Luke going on about coming in with trims full open. I reluctantly tried it (1/2 open) To be honest I gave myself a fright it was so fast comapared to what I was used to. The ground rush was scarry in my opinion, but I did have a really nice landing in nill wind, much to my surprise. I now routenly land with trims open to just over half ( I have not tried it fully open yet, for two reasons, 1. I am a big girls blouse and I am scared, 2. Since going to half I have not needed to) I have to agree with Mark once you have tried it and got over the initial ground rush, the extra flare control does make landing much easier. If I were going to try it again for the first time I think I would only let the trims out about an inch and get used to it there and then slowly increase until you get to a level that works for you.
  21. I was running the M21Y older version for a while (Still in the garage) and it is a great engine, very reliable. and only a little heavier than the M25Y. I was running a 122cm prop and getting about 75kg of thrust from it. I was not getting great economy from it but I weighed 20st at the time flying a Gin Bolero III. I think I got in the region of about 6 - 6.5 ltrs per hour. I would think economy could be as low as 4 - 4.5 at normal weights and good wing choice.
  22. Mark, I am not sure you can do the isle of wight run on Saturday, there are notams spanning from the iow to goodwood because of the festival of speed. They are active from tommorow at 07:00 through to sunday night.
  23. What are the camping facilities .i.e. is there a toilet block, sani dump etc?
  24. As you know Charlie used to live on site and was responsible for access to the field as well as pulling out any ragwort etc so that it could be used for hay. Charlie is no longer on site and has been unhelpful in sorting the field out for the land owner. So the hay has remained uncut for much longer than normal. We did offer the land owner the option of us cutting it for him and paying him more money but at the time he declined. The landowner has now decided that the hay cannot be used and should be cut in the next 2 - 3 days. If anyone is really keen to fly then they can cut their own strip and fly from today. I think this is a great oportunity to try and convince him that with a few extra members and \ or extra cash from existing members . That we could have a section available to be kept short all year round. As sson as i have confirmation it is cut I will post on the forum.
