  1. I'm hoping to move to Cornwall soon, Penzance, Redruth area. I was wondering if there are pilots on here who can give me the heads up on the local flying conditions? I didn't know if the relatively thin strip of land here caused problems with any sea breeze coming in from both coasts? Or, any other weather issues that cause flying problems around this area. Thanks, Rob.
  2. Thanks for that Simon. Maybe I should have been a little more explicit on what I actually want.. I'm looking for a gimbal that I can use with my GoPro on a helmet or reserve mount situation. I was looking at something like this.. http://www.zhiyun-tech.com/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=109&id=195 Or its bigger brother.. http://www.zhiyun-tech.com/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=74&id=153 Has anyone had any experience of these units ?
  3. Does anyone use them and if what sort?
  4. I know the new Speedster 2 is now out there... Has anyone flown one yet ???
  5. I have the 185 Moster in my Zenith as well. I can't help with reducing your RPM other than buying a slower wing. You don't mention what you're flying under. I'd like to know what your fuel consumption is ? I'm 83kg and under my Roadster 1, 26m I get about 4.5 lits per hour.
  6. No comments about Gin wings ? I find it hard to believe a wing available in the UK isn't known by anyone. I thought Gin were quite big in the PG market.
  7. Does anyone have any experience with Gin PPG wings ? I'm always looking for my next wing, I have 50 hours on my Roadster 1 and may want to change later this year. Everyone in the UK seems to fly either Ozone, Paramania, APCO or Dudek. Pilots in the US and Europe seem to fly a much wider field of manufacturers and I was wondering why this is ? I looked at the Gin site, their Falcon wings looks to be a competitor to the Speedster, WRC and maybe GTX. I'd appreciate any comments as to why the Brits seem to stick to such a limited field of manufacturers.
  8. Christian, thanks for that. I know exactly what you mean about wallowing and anticipation. I find low level easier when the wing is trimmed at least half fast and as responsive as possible, even then its not confidence inspiring. Thanks again for your comments. If my shoulder ever gets any better I may look in this direction. I'll be grounded for at least two more months.
  9. Very interested in your comparison. I have an original Roadster 26 (total all up weight minus fuel 125kg with a Moster Zenith) and looking to upgrade maybe this year. How much quicker is the Sirocco that the Roadster and how else does it differ ? Thanks.. Rob.
  10. Has anyone tried one yet? I know the UK has been shocking for flying for the last few months but wonder if anyone has some airtime with one yet ?
  11. Seconded re mirror. I went to the local ex army shop, got a cheap polished stainless (3"x2") mirror, attached a retractable key fob thingy, sorted. It came with a nice little bag which I glued Velcro to and it sticks to my reserve so its always safely tucked away and not scratched.
  12. http://www.zhiyun-tech.com/Z1-rider-en.html Does anyone have any experience of this gimbal ?
  13. I'm looking at XC wings for this year and my list is polar opposite to yours !! I'm looking at: Nuke WRC Ozone Roadster 2 Ozone Sirocco Paramania GTX (when they start production again) I look at your list and see acro and slalom. Its interesting what people see as XC wings.
  14. I'm in the same boat, looking for second XC wing this year. The Nuke is on my list as well. I'm interested that you think its not fuel efficient, I only get 4.5 lit per hour out of my Roadster and Moster Zenith, and I like to fly smooth and economical.
  15. I haven't had chance to go out yet, the weather is being a real pain in the rear at the moment. As soon as we get some dryish weather with some light winds I will be out there.. It's still sitting in my lounge teasing me... When the weather is good for you just shout up if you want a ground handling buddy. I'm sure there are plenty here willing to help, me included, I have a nice field for ground handling. Just shout up.
