  2. I have spoken to parajet who have been very understanding and would like to see photos of the problem so that they can investigate further. They offered various was to sort mine out, but to be honest I am quite happy with it now being stitched all the way round. The service I have had from parajet has been great, I just think on this particular issue that stitching it prevents any potential problem happening. They will let me know after investigation if there is any thing that needs to be done or it it is just a faulty one.
  3. Hi Pete, As I said I had already stitched the zip at both ends, and it still opened. i.e. the zip split open leaving the zip slider stiched in place. So I have now stitched the zip all the way along to prevent it opening at all. Of course I can easily cut the thread if I ever have to remove the reserve pouch.
  4. Hi, I am recently bought a new Parajet Zenith that I am very happy with. I also bought a new parajet reserve pocket that replaces the standard pocket. These are fitting using a zip with a velcro locking tab at each end, I had a problem about a week ago that I consider to have been very dangerous. The zip opened from the bottom up and was only held by about 1cm of zip and one of the velcro locking tabs. If this had come completely undone then I would have had an accidental reserve deployment. I decided that I was not happy that it could happen again so i stitched the zip together at each end so that the zip could not undo accidentally. However I was flying this evening and upon landing I noticed that the zip had opened all the way round (Except the bits that were stitched) . I am quite certain that had I not stitched the end of the zip it would have fallen off and deployed. I am now going to stitch the zip all the way along so that it can never happen again. And I would suggest that any one else with this setup do the same.
  5. If you could tell us how the information is going to be used, or more importantly not used against us. Then you might get a better response. We are not going to disclose the areas we fly from and then find out it is the intention to try to regulate it in some way. Not trying to be awkward, just protective
  6. Hi Mark, The only way I can think of removing the interfernce down the wire would be an optoisolator of some sort. But I am pretty sure that it would require some power from each circuit. Perhaps Alan can comment, if I get a spare moment I will see if I can work out a diagram. But to be honest I am not 100% sure it would work.
  7. Hi, I have just sold my Bailey V5 and bought a Zenith V5. For me it was a really tough descision to change, I LOVE the baily engine it is well built and reliable and economical. However as a larger person I found the Bailey chassis to be a little on the small side. Although I could get into it. The chassis has a funny bend in the swing arms that made it difficult for me, in particular on the ground and reaching the leg straps or fitting the riser to the left swing arm (the right one was ok). Once I was in the air it was a dream to fly. So for me the pros and cons of each are: Bailey: Pros Quick assembly More crash resistant than the Zenith Possability of a larger tank (15ltr versus 12 ltr) Harness scoops you off the ground Safer netting Bailey: Cons Harness / Chassis smaller than the Zenith Larger storage size Not as active to fly as the Zenith Tricky getting to the left carabina with all my flying suit \ helmet etc on Zenith: Pros Larger Harness Looks better than the Bailey in my opinion More like a paraglider to fly Very compact Zenith: Cons Easier to break Slower to assemble Netting not as good Smaller fuel tank Harness has to be adjusted more acuratley or you will be left dangling as it does not scoop in the same way as the bailey For me personally I was very happy with the bailey version, it was just the harness / chassis that was a niggle. I am also very happy with the Zenith, so I dont think you would be disapointed with either. If you are normal size then I dont think it will make any difference.
  8. Hi Ricky, Just fit some go faster stripes, and then you wont need to down size. Or stop loosing weight and eat a few more pies
  9. On the speedster you can use the speed bar through the full speed range with the trimmers at any setting. To be honest though, when you are freflying you would normally have the trimmers at full slow, then there is no reflex in the wing it is just a paraglider. If it is really windy you might let the trimmers out a little, but in these cases all normal paragliders (non reflex) will be landing anyway.
  10. I also have the speedster having changed from the Nucleon, I have free flown it and used the motor with it and it is a very good all rounder. The nucleon is slightly faster but it did not thermal as well in my opinion. Overall if I was looking for a wing to freefly and motor with I would still choose the Speedster. It is also much easier launch than the Nucleon.

  13. Hi Nathan, He already had training and could fly ok, it was just somewhere to fly from and kit he needed. Steve Haze - Wing and a Chair Is who I would have suggested, but he badly broke a leg some time ago and I dont know if he is still teaching.
  14. Pictures as promised. I am looking for £4450 The reserve is not included in the sale but a deal could be had at the right price. The propeller shown is a brand new prop, but I also have a slightly damaged repaired fully functional one that I could sell and make the overall price a little cheaper. It also comes with a lithium ion ultra light weight battery. It is in very good condition with one mark on a quarter panel. It has also had a full service in the last 2 weeks.
  15. Hi, My Bailey V5 is now up for sale, it has done 35 hours, it has a 15 ltr tank, and 12v electric out. I am also including a Flymaster M1 engine management system, which gives fuel, rpm and cht wirelessly. I have a spare 10ltr tank and a few other bits that I will include in the sale. I will post photos in the next day or so when I get a chance to assemble it and take some photos. Please contact me on 07748986084 if interested. Thanks Barry
  16. I went for the Sony, 1. The steady shot is really good for flying as it is much smoother. 2. Cheaper than the go pro.
  17. Hi, Just got back from flying about an hour, but it was really nice but the wind picked up on the way back and I was only getting about 5 mph into wind. So I decided to make a dash for take off and see if it dies down later. Barry

    Helmet?

My opinion in that something is better than nothing, and as long as there would be no issues with insurance claims. i.e. not using a type approved helmet. Use it till you have decided what else to get and make sure you shop around and try a few different one on if you can.
  19. 0.09mm = 0.00354 inchs I think this would be well within tolerance. i.e. it is only 0.00046 of an inch out. To be honest I doubt it would make any differance. I doubt that even with feeler gauges you would be able to measure the difference. I will put my neck on the line and guess that it is set to the metric equivalient that is marked on the back of most metric feeler gauge sets for 0.004. Am I right?
  20. Hi, Short answer is yes, they feed through the main sholder straps. and they move quite easily. I find that I have to readjust them after every 2-3 filghts. i.e. when it is on your back leaning forward I can then pull the straps, and when i stand back upright it is sitting much higher on your back. It does not seem to adjust the main sholder strap buckles in my case it sort of slides through. It makes all the difference for me in starting as well. If it has gone out of adjustmnt I cannot get the leverage on the pull start that I need. But when correctly adjusted I can. It only takes a few seconds to adjust once it is on your back. But it is easier to start with to get some one else to help so that you can see what is going on.
