  1. Sorry about that, I uploaded the video at about 12:30 last night and this morning it was still not working. So I thought youtube was not working properly so I deleted it. I am uploading it again now. Just building the suspense
  2. Mark, Ricky and I went to Newhaven cliffs today with th intention of soaring to Beach Head and back. We all had a good day. But mine was a bit more eventful, I thought I would share my bad decision making here so that other may benefit from it. (And a giggle as well) I had my camera on at the time so here goes. [youtubevideo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J31etDrjo5w[/youtubevideo] I could not get it restarted, because the harness was not adjusted correctly and I could not get the power / angle needed. Which was sorted once I got back to take off. I had to walk back to the previous beach to take off again, which if I am honest nearly killed me. I was exhausted as I had to be careful on every step as everthing was super slippy. All in all a good day, nothing broken, but lesson learnt. I should have just concentrated on the flying and I would have been fine. And make sure my preflights include harness adjustment in future. Sorry to Morgy and Rick for killing the Beach Head run.
  3. Hi, I also have a V5 and I can tell you that when I start, I pull to the side. Rather than straight out. I have tried it straight out and I cant do it. Which really surprised me, I assumed it would be buch easier straight out.
  4. Ok, OK, Ok I take the point about the deer, I just wanted to go and have a look at them. I consider myself reprimanded and will refrain in future.
  5. Hi Al, I really like it, it does have the built in wifi which can be used as a view finder, but it kills the battery life if you do. I got around 1.5 hours with wifi at the 1080p setting and I got around 2.5 hours without the wifi. Although I did find an issue with it. You can clip it onto the mount facing either way, which I did not realise, so I was following Mark down the river Arun yesterday with some amazing foot drags, only to find that when I landed Mark was about to kill me as I had it pointing backwards. (Sorry Mark ) Which meant he had to do it again and my camera skill were not s good the second time around. I am going to get a leg mount as I think it will be easier to keep pointing towards the subject, as I find that when it is on the helmet Every time I go to get the brake handles or look around to see what is going on it wastes a good shot. But overall I am very pleased with it considering the cost. Barry
  6. Hi Pete, Are you refering to the building at the end next to the lake? If you are I was asked by the owner to take a video for him, it is a fishing lake and he wants to get a clip to put on their web site. The field we fly from is right next to it and normally it is a no fly zone. They are wild deer, and I did not do it for long. I would not do that to livestock.
  7. This is the first video I have every taken on a paramotor using my new Sony Action Cam, I am quite pleased with it. Although I might need to work on my editing. [youtubevideo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxIG23FDem8[/youtubevideo]

    Heated gloves

Hi, If you have a 12v out on your machine then I would get a pair of Gerbing G3 gloves, they are very well made and are good enough in most situations without them being turned on. I also find that they are flexable enough to still be used for normal flying. I have not ried the T5's but I susspect that they may be just a little bulky. Due to the recent cold snap I invested in the whole kit. Socks, trousers, Jacket and gloves with a dual controller. This allows independant heat to the jacket from the Other items. They also come with a lifetime guarantee on the heating elements, they are designed for motorbikes. They also do a set that runst from batteries (Hybrid range) but I have not tried these.
  9. Hi, Does any one have an upto date copy of the openair format or the UK airspace, I have a version from the 10th Jan 2010 which is ok where I am as it has not changed but I would like a more recent version. Thanks
  10. Hi and welcome to the forum, the decision on which hand to fly is also dictated by the machine you are flying a little if it is a pull start. I am right handed and prefer to fly with a right handed throttle as I find I have slightly better control in my right hand. However my new machine is pull start and I find It much more difficult to pull start with my left hand, so I have now changed to left hand throttle. So I now pull start with my right, this also give the advantaage of easier shots with a camera / changing radio / changne music etc with my right. And to be honest it only took a couple of flights to get used to it.
  11. It makes no difference if you are flying with Mark, if he loses sight of you it is Top Gear rules, and so leaves you any way The worst case for me is flying straight into the sun, a really good pair of shades halps, but even then you can know that someone is in front of you and totally loose them. Could be a disaster if you did not know they were there.
  12. It is often said no news is good news, and whilst this is quite often true, we then never hear about the people who go above and beyond in delivering a service. With that in mind I thought I should post about the excellent service that I have had from Excipere, I have used most online backup systems out there and I am familiar with most of the quirks in them. I am what most people would consider to be a power user with many machines that I need to back up. And most of the other software on the market is simply not good enough for my complex requirments. After some lenghty conversations with Al he has explained how to achieve almost all of my requirments (way more than the average user) and now I am a very very happy customer I will be recomending them to all of my customers who need online storage, as the service was second to none in my opinion. So if you are looking for a good backup solution at a VERY resonable cost this should be your very first port of call. If it works for me it will work for you. Well done and good luck with the new business.
  13. Hi, I did not make my self clear with thsi point. 3. Upload management allowances. i.e. If I pay to have a 10gb upload limit per month I would want to limit the toatal amount backed up in a month to 8gb and then upload the rest in the following months. I understand that you have no upload limits, what I mean is that if my adsl line / isp provider has upload limits, I may be charged £xx per mb/gb that I go over so I would want to limit the amount that I back up each month. 4. Incremental file level backup. i.e. I run quite a few virtual machines, and the virtual hard drive can be many gb in size, if I change just a single file in the VM it would be nice to only send the difference. I've not tried this one. interesting. in theory files are already backed up at file level so any changes in a particular file will only be backed up. but if you're backing up the vm upon which the files live then what? hmmm. I'll have to go away and think on this one. I can't promise the outcome you want, but i'll certainly look at seeing what I can do. Again this is how tha competition do it, What I am suggesting is different. Let me give you an example. If I had a Vm configured as follows. 2 Virtual Hard drives (1 for the os c:, 1 for Data d:) So lets assume that the D: is 2TB in size (Dynamically sized) and I have used 1TB of data on it, made up of thousands of word documents. In the begining I back up the 1TB to the server (1 Single file), I than start the VM and change 1 document, and stop the VM. Most companies will try to upload the entire VM hard drive again, but in reality they only need to send the small section of the file that has changed. (I think it is called delta syncing, Although I suspect that it would need a local copy of the file to compare with - but for me it would be perfect.)
  14. Also is there an easy way to add more PC's to the account after it is started, and is it possible to get it cheaper if you order a 10 Pc license. i.e. I have no desire for the cloud storage or sync, so I would be better off with cloudstor service but for more PC's rather than paying more for the cloud central service. Or better still do you do a site license, as this would allow me to backup the individual virtual PC's. Thanks Barry
  15. Hi, This is something I am very interested in having tried most of your competitors, I will happily switch to your service. Can I make some feature request \ suggestions that I would really like. They may already exist but I have not tried your software yet. 1. I would like the ability that in a disaster i.e. total failure at my end to be able to pay extra and have all my data transfered to a hard disk and sent to me via post \ courier etc. As I dont like the idea of waiting for days \ weeks \ months to get it all back. 2. Bandwidth management that I can control. i.e. I am quite often on other customers sites, and I would not want to hammer their network performing a backup, also there are time when I am at home and want to continue surging but allow the backup to continue without hogging all the resources. There are times when I do want it to use all available bandwidth i.e. 01:00 - 07:00, so a schedule for bandwidth would be useful. 3. Upload management allowances. i.e. If I pay to have a 10gb upload limit per month I would want to limit the toatal amount backed up in a month to 8gb and then upload the rest in the following months. 4. Incremental file level backup. i.e. I run quite a few virtual machines, and the virtual hard drive can be many gb in size, if I change just a single file in the VM it would be nice to only send the difference. I am sure there are a few more but this is my wish list to start with. Good luck with the business, I will try it out later this evening and let you know how I get on. Thanks Barry
  16. Thanks very much. That is exactly what I was after. However I have now found the problem with audio in only one ear. I discovered that even only listening to music still only worked in one ear so that eliminated the radio. It was a loose wire in the headset, resold wired and all working well. But I will still check the dip switches.
  17. I have looked online but I cannot find out what each dip switch does. Does any one have a manual or know what the 12 dips switches do? The reason I ask is that I bought a really cheap chinese 2m radio years ago and it has been problematic recently. I have managed to find my old, but little used Icom IC-T22A radio and I have just ordered a new battery for it as the old one is knackered. I am only hearing noise comming out of one ear and just wanted to check what settings I had set on the headset. Thanks
  18. Hi, I have a Micro Avionics Headset MP001 and helmet. I would like to know if there is any way to convert it to a helme mount rather than a band under the helmet? Anybody done it before.
  19. Great, but the forgot to include the Sony, which I think is far better having looked at the footage.
  20. I happend to me as well but it was the "Notify me when a reply is posted" option got turned off. I never went into the control pannel and changed it. It does not work now because it is broken but that is another issue. The Gremlins are alive Possibly happened when I became a paid up member?
  21. Thanks for letting me know Simon, I now have the option turned on but as you suspected I did not get an email when you replied to my post.
  22. I did not know this and at some time it stopped working so I just assumed that there was a problem, I have just checked and I did not have the option turned on. So hopefully this will fix it for me. Thanks very much.
  23. Just found the prices. 1. Sony HDR AS10 - No Wifi - £118 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-SONY-HDR- ... 1c2ca714c9 2. Sony HDR AS15 - With Wifi - £225 - http://www.waeplus.co.uk/product/127427 ... r-FHD-Wifi 3. Go Pro Silver - Approx £170 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GoPro-HD-HERO ... 46076f5a00 4. Go Pro Black - Approx £360 Unless some one has a really compelling reason to go for a go pro I think I justt need to decide if I want to pay the extra for the wifi on the Sony. the Sony HDR AS10 just seems to goo to be true at that price - any thoughts?
  24. Ok I almost made my mind up and thought I would share this video that I just watched for any one else who is interested. This compares the GoPro 2, GoPro 3 Black and the Sony HDR-AS10 I have to say that after watching this and other videos I am still leaning towards the Sony. I love the Image stabilasation on the sony. Now I just need to shop around and check out the prices, that is the only bit I have still to look at. That might just make the difference. But to be honest that quality of all three is excellent.
