I have just bought one of these to fit to my paramotor. http://www.kkckartshop.co.uk/pc/KG-9-5L ... 4p1117.htm the picture on their web sit is not very clear, but I will try to explain. On the top there is the following. 1. The filler cap 2. A molded plastic pipe that you could connect fuel pipe to but it is closed off (you would have to drill it) 3. A Screw on cap with a brass fuel fixing (on the inside there is a length of tubing and a weighted pick up) 4. A screw on cap with a brass fuel fixing (nothing attached on the inside) - Assumed vent I assume that the vented fixing is left open to atmosphere in normal use so as not to create a vacume. But how do you stop fuel leaking out when traveling. My thoughts \ questions. 1. Can you get a one way valve to go in the place of the vent? 2. If I put a bit of tube betwwen the open vent and the closed vent when travelling and then remove it for flying. 3. Can you get a replacment filler cap that is vented and just close off the other vents. Any other suggestions? Thanks for the information about the risers. It is not a miniplane cage it is one i have built and it is very strong but I still cannot get the netting as tight as I would like.

I am currently building a paramotor frame, I have completed most of it but I have some questions. I like an active low hang point as it is similar to paragliding which I am comfortable with. So where is the ideal height of the hang points or swing arms relative to the center of the prop? I THINK that the thrust line should be above or at the same height as the hang points based on pictures I have seen but I am not sure why? Any logic as to where it should be, I was also not sure it if might only be due to the harness design and it is just positioned to suit the type of harness? Also on the miniplane style frame does any one have any experience as to how much tension you can get on the netting. I have just completed mine and although it feels quite tight I am not convinced that it would stop contact with the prop if you fell into it. It seems that the rope that tensions always has about 1/2 to 1 inch of movment which is enough to allow the netting to flex. Is this normal? If any one had a video showing how much movment theyhave on their netting once it is tensioned would be really usefull but I might be asking too much. Any thoughts? Thanks Barry.

I will try to answer in simple english, I am sure someone will come along with a more technical answer. To start with lets make sure we know what pitch is. As I understand it if the pitch is 48 inches it means that for one revolution of the propellor it will have traveled 48 inches forward. The amount of power required by the engine will increase as the pitch goes up for a given engine RPM. So there are two problems as I see it. 1. If the pitch is decreased then the RPM of the engine increases, and you must not over rev the engine. 2. If the pitch is increased then the max power of the engine cannot be obtained ( as specified by the engine manafacturer) So in short it is a balancing act between getting the max power from the engine to give the best possible pitch without over reving the engine. The Recuction ratio will also have an effect as to how many revolutions of the prop are obtained relative to the RPM of the engine. I think the larger reduction ratio the more power but with a retuction in prop RPM and again there is a balancing act. I wait to be corrected.

I am trying to work out the distance between the hang points. I remember in the past reading it should be something like 42 - 50 cm. But not enough to be sure, the old frame was about 38 cm and I am quite big (read as wide \ not tall) and it was a real struggle to get in to it. I also need a new harness so would like to make sure that when I order one it will fit whatever I make here. So it would be good if you could also tell me the harnees you use as well. I am interested in this, Do you have a picture of the netting or a link to the supplier so that I can get a bit more detail. In articular I am trying to work out if it is enough. My Maths is not as good as It Used to be, but here goes. If I have a 1.4m Frame. Then C = Pi x D , 3.14 x 1.4 = 4.396 m For the whole cage. So by me reasoning I recon I need approx 3/4 of the circumference, appprox 3 M. But I am not sure how it stretches in terms of the diamonds becoming more elongated around the outer edge and more square towards the middle. Any Thoughts?

Hi, I am looking to find a light weigh battery to replace my current lead acid one. I want one that I can just leave in place and have the on board charging of the engine keep it topped up. I have seen this link: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4791&p=31696&hilit=battery#p31696 but there is no detail of where to buy one, It also is pictured with a standalone charge, but I would like to know if it would chatge correctly from the engine. Thanks just what I needed to know. I have seen a pair of G7's from maplin which is what some others here are using and if I understand it correctly these radios can be altered to extend the range later once I get an RT license. So I think I will go for a set of these. Thanks Again

Ok, after some digging on here i have found what I nk ems to be the recomended thing. http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=47345 This is a Midland Twin-Pack PMR G7 X-TRATALK Can someone please confirm that most of the paramotor pilots who are not using the AM air band radio could communcae with these. As I now understand that the AM ones would require license. If I am correct 2M one are not legal to use in the air but could be used for retrieves etc. Thanks again, sorry for the dumb qustions

Hi Al, I am going on holidy on Saturday in the caravan and after traveling for about 8 to 10 hours tensions are always a bit frayed when we get to the cam site so I need some recomdations for 2 cheap radios walkie talkies. Now this got me thinking that I could kill 2 birds with one stone, I dont currently use a radio when I am flying but if I choose the right equipment I will be able to talk to the wife and hopefully other paramotor \ paraglider pilots using the same kit. As I undersand it I need 2M radios? Can any one please ofer a ac to get some cheap radios new or second hand? Thanks in advance Barry

This is a link to a post in the Paramotor Mag forum to which I have responded but I thought I should post a link to it here in case anyone has any further information. http://www.paramotormag.com/forum/viewt ... highlight= I have also had a few people ask me about the frame etc as they were also looking to order one. Please take note thst they have not delivered and at this stage would avoid. Unless Roberto turns out to be in hospital or some other reasonable excuse. But at this stage it is not advised to buy from them. Any information about this company would be very gratefully recieved. In the first few weeks they do seem to have been very professional and quick to reply. I am not of the impression that they deliberatly set out to rip me off, I just wonder if something has happened. i.e. cash flow problems, accident, holiday etc. As a side note does any one else know of a reliable manafacturer of a frame that dismantle in a similar way to this one as I really need it to be as small as possible?
