  1. I made a little youtube review on the use of the Fieyutech 2 axis steady gimbal: there is a quick look at the Bailey Hornet in there as well, and if it looks too low on Lukes back that is because he had not hooked up the strap that hooks onto the lower part of the frame upto the shoulder buckle. Also the supplier was unmannedtechshop.co.uk not unmanned, com as I quote in the video. [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]
  2. This brings back memories for me from the 90,s when I used to fly around the Knik Glacier in light aircraft landing at the strip near the glacier, doing loops and rolls high up in my Luscombe, and a few times shutting off the engine, stopping the prop and gliding the ridges. I had to put the plane into a 120 mph nose dive to restart the engine as It had no electrical system . A very good friend of mine , Kevin , is in the ratty looking Taylorcraft A cool video with some spectacular views. [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]
  3. From what I have heard it is uses the same cylinder and pistons as the top 80, which has always been a reliable good engine and the hornet should not have to work as hard. As the it fires at the same time on each cylinder the vibration should be very low with perfect primary balance, which helps a lot with the exhaust not rattling itself to death as with most other two-strokes. All in all a good way forward for paramotor power. Just hope it is quiet.
  4. Got off to a good start then POWWW Snapped the tendon holding my bicep muscle to the elbow while forward launching. Made a silly little video, but had only just got started. [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]
  5. I,m heading up alone in my van to Scotland again for some flying and other activities . Looking at exploring the Isle of Mull and the Ardnamurchan Peninsular. This will be new territory for me though I have done Skye , Tiree and the Outer Hebrides a few times. Looking to leave on Tuesday and might stop in Hull and later in Glencoe on the way up. Anyone up there who wants to join me give me a shout. I have until about the end of July and I hope the weather holds. I have plenty of other toys with me: motorbike, mountain bike, kayak, paraglider and kitesurfing kit to keep me amused..... Hope to post a few videos again as well.
  6. I used climbing carabiners on a paraglider for a while and the main difference is that they are upside down. The gate opens to the wide side, whereas on paraglider carabiners the gate opens onto the narrow end. This makes them very awkward to use as they are first attached to the risers and then clip into the harness.

My birthday on Monday . I Will have a little BBQ and flyabout in the evening as at the moment the weather looks great. Just a little spur of the moment thing with a a few drinks and snacks and camping if you want to stay on . Seymore
  9. Going back to Cornwall again this weekend and staying an extra few days ( 22 to 25 june) . Sat &Sun are big wave kitesurfing conditions, and then Monday and Tuesday look good for flying the coast around Lands End . I had a great trip last time and the weather looks about the same this time. You can see some of the flying in a video I posted in the photo section. Crystal clear water and sunshine. Flew with Richard Whitmarsh one time and alone from the Hayle Beachside Holiday Park which has a bluff you can free fly above the beach at Gwithian . Come and join me..
  10. I might go down to Newhaven today to fly the cliffs if anyone is interested in joining me Friday 14 june
  11. Hi Simon, thanks for getting the site back up and running and I hope to see you this Summer at one of the events. I have made quite a few films on the Isle of Skye that are on my Youtube channel. But I havn,t yet been to Mull, Islay , Jura or the hundreds of smaller islands. They all look spectacular with their own special character. Would make an epic trip to Island hop the whole lot of them and when the weather settles down it can be beautiful for quite a few days at a time. these are some of my favorites from Skye: [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo][youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]
  12. Put together another video. Bits of clips from flying up in Tiree last year, some flights along the cliffs between Brighton and Eastbourne , my trip a few weeks back to Corwall flying with Whitters, batting around Littlehampton west beach with Steve and a few other loose bits of coastline flying. [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]
  13. Gutted.. I left the SD card out of my camera. Beautiful flight along the coast around Perrenporth to St Ives. Saw a basking shark just outside the surf break on Gwithian beach and close to some surfers. Circled it for a bit... Would have made a good photo.
  14. Forecast is looking really good here for the weekend for flying. I have been down in Hayle staying at the Beachside hloiday park and every evening after a good kitesurfing session in sunshine the wind has droped enough to free fly the bluff along Gwithian beach. The bankholiday weekend- half term combination is going to turn the area into a Zoo tomorrow.
  15. I will be going down to Cornwall on Wednesday and staying thru the weekend 22nd to 26th May. The weather looks too windy ( great for Kitesurfing however ) until the weekend The weekend is looking promising if anyone wants to join me. I will be in my camper with all the toys in the back. I normally stay at the Hale Beachside Holiday park and they let me fly off the bluff if they are not too busy or it is a quick walk down to the beach, but a bit of a slog getting back up. They have good cottages to rent quite cheaply in the off season and are a very nice family park for the wife and kids. Some kids are on half term so might be a bit busy There are some stunning coastal flights to be done in this area. Does anyone have Whitter,s phone number ? He flies down there and I have never got to fly with him yet. I have thrown in some photos just to flavor the pot........In the middle of the second on is the Beachside Holiday park
