  1. Hi Nadyel, and welcome to the Paramotor Club! Check out the small but growing London area flyers club page SW
  2. MARBELLA will boast Spain’s first ‘flying police unit’ from next month. It comes after the AENA, the State Agency for Aviation Safety (AESA) and the ministry of development gave the Costa del Sol town the green light to launch its flying policeman in the area. According to La Opinion de Malaga, the small unit will initially be made up of two policia local agents, who are both trained to fly with the motor on their back. The motors allow the cops to fly for five hours, using around 3.2 litres of fuel per hour. They can reach speeds of 45km/hr. “It is a tool that has been successfully used by police officers in other countries and is very suitable for a municipality like ours, with 27 kilometers of coastline, because it allows services from the air to a height between 150 and 300 meters”, said Security councillor Javier Porcuna. The ‘drone cops’ will scan the skies for emergencies, for example locating people lost on the mountain or at sea. They will also be able to monitor landfill sites and urban planning sites for any potential irregularities. Costing just €6,000, it is a much cheaper option than two actual drones, which would have set the town hall back €60,000. SW

  4. I actually do hold my hand up to being at fault here. Be it, a bad call on the weather or a bad call on the flair. This I think is why the vast majority of pilots do not want to teach people I guess. I have re-calibrated again and extended the safety window further. It is tricky though when we had 15-20 mins of the wind soc pointing the same way only to change 180 on landing (at one end of the airfield) I have been teaching now full time for well over 10 years 7 of them at Membury this was a very unusual weather occurrence for the site on a day when the wind direction was firm and steady. I would have put my wife, parents or any other family member up on the same day at the same time. (which is how I always look at it) All is well that ends well, but make no mistake I am very aware that we are both lucky in this instance. SW
  5. @weesplat otherwise know as little Col, has one I think SW
  6. It's also worth mentioning that Connor has flown his more in the last 6 months than 90% of the people reading this have in last year (or two) SW
  7. I think cloud 9 is the only place in Cornwall so a shame that your not hearing back from them. That may also explain why we still get the odd bookings from the Devon and Cornwall area. As has been said, welcome to the Paramotor Club and good luck with the learning when you get started. SW
  8. It's the wrong sort of wing for me for it to be of interest chap. I prefer a more floppy affair. I think you should give all your credit and debit cards to your misses until your off the drugs! lolol SW
  9. I will be down visiting some old friends in the not so distant future and will be bringing my kit for a fly from Princetown / Tavistock area if you guys want to hook up SW
  10. Dealers can still get Synth 2's but they have been taken off the website. As a school, we are moving over to the Universal 1.1 which is an amazing wing! There have been a couple of wings over the years which have reduced the amount of time it takes us to teach people. The universal 1.1 is one of those wings. We have a couple here for anyone who want's to try one. SW
  11. Hi Irfan, Welcome to the Paramotor Club I guess a good place to start would be to know where about you live. We can then start pointing you at some instructors in your area / country. SW
  12. Hi Greg and welcome to the Paramotor Club I would try @Hullaeroparamotorclub who teach in Hull and around Yorkshire. SW
  13. Most likely to be somewhere near Parajet so we can buzz them on mass!!! lolol SW
  14. The UK has been massively far behind the rest of the EU, USA, and in fact, most of the rest of the world when it comes to using wheels for a Paramotor to take off. In maybe another 10 years or so (some 20 years behind everyone else) we may even be allowed to take passengers. the UK have some catching up to do when it come to trikes and quads for sure. SW
  15. Those brands have been around making wheeled stuff for the last 10 years + the Falco has been out for just under 2 years. That may explain it yes used as a solo trike it's legal depending on engine 'weight' SW
  16. There are one or two mate yes, the Falco was more for the USA market who can legally use the tandem capability. SW
  17. I am interested in people's trike designs for there Parajet. It can be home made or factory bought. If you have a trike (with a Parajet as the power plant) please would you be so kind as to post a pic and some info here SW
  18. I am just waiting for my Sub 70KG one from them (basically the tandem parts removed, lighter tyres, and wheels) Im not sure that the recently relaxed laws will suddenly make everyone want to fly a trike to be honest most are happy with foot launch. As the trikes became available to us legally, the foot launch market changed fairly dramatically towards lighter and more powerful engines as well. Gone are the days of a 35kg+ paramotor's, gone are the days of wings that are super fast to launch and require precise and well practiced skills. The new era of kit has without doubt made foot launching a lot easier. A good example of this would be the Universal 1.1 This wing has taken about a day OFF the time it takes someone to complete there training with us. The Moster engine's have seen broken props from scratchy take off's disappear on our field We have our first trike student starting with us on Monday so maybe the info is starting to filter through slowly SW
