  1. I too have been to Croatia, Stunning landscape! What kit do you have for rent? SW
  2. Every time you use one of those, a butterfly dies. And the useless waste remains will last approximately 20 million light years and 6 months. SW
  3. I think I need one of these in my life lol SW
  4. That is horrible news RIP Paul. And my thoughts are with his family and friends. Paul's heart was always in the right place. SW.
  5. I have had one for around 15 hours of air time. No issues so far. Loving it in fact SW
  6. I would start by looking at something along the lines of a Moster+ 185 (25bhp) which has bucket loads of power for the 'larger gentleman' 21bhp would most likely be a 150cc+ SW
  7. We are teaching a 79 year old at the moment (a couple of them in fact ) 240Lb is not actually that much at all!!! (That's only 104 KG to us lot) If you can dream it, you can do it!! Welcome to the Paramotor Club! SW
  8. Hi Eddie, Check out the Member Map as a starter https://www.paramotorclub.org/membermap/ Welcome to the Paramotor Club! SW
  9. Of all the people I thought already had the RT licence, I would have put money on you. lol The course and exam are quite easy, and many can learn and pass in a weekend. (just remember to relay the Mayday and then the stand down) SW
  10. A tank of petrol next to a spark plug and a hot exhaust is arguably more dangerous. SW
  11. It's always a good idea to make it easy for people to find you if needed. SPOT trackers are a great option. (The price of them includes emergency rescue insurance globally, they even covered me to cross the Sahara!!) SW
  12. This pic is one that keeps popping up on the internet. I felt that is should have a place here too
  13. HiFly seem OK from the ones I have seen. DT seem cheep and nasty in comparison. I am not familiar with the other ones. Welcome to the Paramotor Club! SW
  14. We teach all year round summer time becomes much busier so why not for for it now! For local pilots near you, take a look at the Member map. Welcome to the Paramotor Club. SW
  15. Android version came out early 2017 I think dude https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.airboxaero.runwayhd&hl=en_GB Same discount code will work SW
  16. The cost comes from the air charts updated daily. (By NATS) Each paper chart, costs around £25 (of which there are 6 to cover the UK) The paper charts are out of date the day you buy them. The free / cheep apps that pretend to offer the same, use open source data (the same as we had on this site until I noticed quite a few things wrong and removed it for liability reasons) and should not be relied upon for aviation navigation by any serious pilot. SW
  17. Hi Jim, I would recommend that you do your training on School equipment and not to buy your own until you have had a flight or two. Aside from your list, you can add the RunwayHD app which is a fully NATS approved Navigation, NOTAM, route planning app. SW
  18. Actually legally, it's a pain in the arse for a land owner to take money.... its much simpler for them to not. (which just means a decent £100+ bottle of single malt once a year) instead I find I still have access to all of the fields I have used in the past, and the thing they remember me for was the posh whisky (read cheep rent) SW
