  10. Thanks very much to those who have joined the PMC Parajet Owners Club The functions are the same as Facebook for the Admin's (people who start a club, which you can all do) But I would like to think we can end up with less ranting, less spam, and genuine Parajet owners. Please do upload some pics, post a message to introduce yourself, and so on Most of all WELCOME AND ENJOY. SW
  11. Today we have switched on a fairly significant addition to the Paramotor Club site. In the main top bar of the site, you will now see a link that says 'Clubs' here is the link https://www.paramotorclub.org/clubs/ This allows for any individual to create a group within the Paramotor Club software. (Much like Facebook groups in terms of functionality) but hopefully not filled with as much junk and or spam LOLOL I welcome and indeed invite anyone to start a club and invite some people to it It could be for Mechanical geeks, an Owners club, Location based clubs or anything in fact as long as it is loosely related to Flying Paramotors. Those who start a club will have full admin rights within it, and will be able to treat it as there own, make public, private, or invite only and so on.... Please do take a look and consider starting your own SW
  12. I am not suggesting for a second that this is the 'norm' Just that it happens rather allot (more than it should in my opinion) It was the Mayor who wanted proof that the PMC had nothing to do with the school before we were allowed to use the site for the holiday this year SW
  13. This is what I will be using next year to tell you what the price of a pint of Lager is!!! lolol SW
  14. Indeed and THANKS for doing that Not sure why it did not quite work... maybe I should have used the shouting machine to remind people... lolol SW
  15. The sharp eyed among you will have spotted that the site is looking slightly different. The core system of the site has was upgraded today. I am running some tests to make sure that everything works as it should with the additions that we have. There is something at the moment that needs setting up in the Classifieds area as it's all a little squiff. I will be working on this later today as well as any other blips / snags that I find Thanks for your patience SW
  16. Given that the #PMC2017 comp did not work well, based on the fact that most of you it seem's were not sure how to enter... I feel that it would be only fair to give the opportunity to everyone who has taken and shared pics to win this mind blowing prize! So, there are now two ways to get your pics in front of my eyes before THIS SUNDAY 23RD JULY for a chance to win. Please either post your pictures in this thread or in the PMC gallery (you need to be logged in to do this) post a normal message just below the box you type in normally you will see drag files here to attach, or a choose files link. Once the file has uploaded, hover over the image and click the + button which will embed it into your post. Please do share this with anyone that you know attended to give as many people a chance as possible in the short time available. GOOD LUCK THOSE THAT DO. SW
  17. What an awesome and unexpected response from the community. SW
  18. You have a year to get a tent and sleeping bag put somewhere in my van Any fool can rough it SW
  19. You can also do the PMC course in the UK and get our own club's insurance We (re-teach) LOT'S of people that have 'leaned' in Spain because they booked a week off and the weather was too thermic to fly. You then have to follow them to wherever they are in the world to finish your course. ( at the moment I think that is Oman ) On our books at this very moment are 6 people who have already done a course in Spain, mainly due to a lack of confidence or lack of skill. (to be clear, these are people who have paid us to teach them AFTER completing a course in Spain.) We also get many people 'popping in' after a course in Spain as they don't have the confidence to fly on there own, most have not used the trimmers or tip steering either, which I think is an insane point to 'sign someone off' These are basically people who have ran out of funds or the will to spend them and trying to 'learn by osmosis' ( I won't lie, this is not my favoured person to have on our airfield ) Also, the AXA policy is a generic policy available to ANYONE who want's it. NO training is required. The other two policies can only be purchased by people who have completed either the BHPA or the PMC course. My advice would be to take your time, learn in the country that you live in, learn about the weather that you will have to fly in when ready. Our training provides an unlimited number of days to the student pilot to allow this confidence to build while at the same time building your skill base and teaching you about the UK weather and finding your personal weather window in the comfort of a learning environment as apposed to a farmers field on your own. You are welcome to pop up to Membury, where on any given flyable day I am sure you will be able to talk to any one of the 6 people mentioned above yourself. Welcome to the Paramotor Club and whichever route you decide to take, I am sure you will enjoy it!!! Edited: to add that this is not a dig at any person or company. The people we see are from a varied array of schools overseas. The main reason for my post was to highlight that it is far from 'the magical solution' and often will end up costing more time and money when adding 're-training' SW
  20. A little early I know, but hey... I am buzzing my tits off here so why not! SW
