  1. A nice little reminder to all of us to make sure you clear your lines and risers and of course all of the other pre flight checks before you take to the skies. This is a super silly mistake that could very easily have killed him. Amazing that he was OK SW
  2. Not that I am aware of, although mounting the motor slightly offset like this is something I have seen the guys in the USA doing with trikes and quads (but not recently) SW
  3. Hi Paul, It sounds very much to me as though you should visit someone with a hang check rig who can help. It is not a good idea or indeed anything I have ever seen or heard of as an option, to offset the hang point's 'front to back' What Paramotor is it? Is it high or low hang point? Most manufacturers offset 'sideways' at point of manufacture. Honestly, you should seek some help from someone local who knows what they are doing to take a look Try the members map for a local contact.
  4. Well, for me I am going to default to supportive mode. Anyone who can be arsed to get out of the house and do something completely different is worthy of at least that much in my view. I will watch with interest. SW
  5. Makes me cringe watching that Cool that your not put off by it Andy and not injured. The landing was perfect (if the ground was 4 foot lower)! Motor was 100% OK and 0 damage to prop Cas Let's have no more of those though please! SW
  6. Don't be underwhelmed. I have taken much poo as a result of my post, but I do feel strongly about it. Although I know support of my view is there from conversations with the people who have been around for a while.... I don't expect them to post and take the same Sh**. I 'stuck my head out of the water' to say something which would annoy people (not with the intent to do so) but it needed to be said. I am fed up with teaching (again) half taught people who come to us with a negative vibe having been 'miss sold' a dream. It's a simple as that for me :--) I do though love the part where that dream comes true for them SW
  7. I guess it was a little bit too windy
  8. This page will help you https://www.paramotorclub.org/membermap/ SW
  9. Again, this is not personal against a business or person.. its the idea that Spain offers a magical week of turning people into pilots that is misleading potential pilots that get's me. I know this to be happening as it effects me daily! You are one of the MANY who have had a great time out there, most likely aided by your own ability to learn 'quickly' My point is that there are also MANY people (I think more) that feel as though they are not safe and need more training. It's a MASSIVE number and as mentioned above, a large percentage of our ongoing customer base which in it's self has to be something towards proving my point? I did not make that happen... It happen to us. SW
  10. Is your opinion. The 'intensive' training is not the opinion of many far more experienced aviation professionals (I am currently in study working towards my helicopter instructors rating) 'Intensive' training is 100% considered to be a very bad thing. I guess the CAA examiners know best. Thats just BS lol we do All year around for the last 12 years in the UK with no problems at all. I would argue that we have taught more people to become pilots than any other single school in fact. We have 3 brand new Parajet's 8 new wings, 10 harnesses, 8 radios, 10 helmets. Many of the students going to Spain have purchased kit PRE training as part of a free training deal. We don't like people buying kit until they have had at least 1 flight. Surely its the end result that matters? Also I literally signed a guy up today who thought this (honestly!!!) Already been to Spain for a week!!! Also this is not how we work in the UK. People book in, and then we teach then to start reading the weather (that they will ultimately fly in) they call the evening before any day they want to do some training I tell people not to book time off and to save it for when they can fly!!! You get that your admitting here that a 7 days course is not enough right? A knowledge of every aspect of the aircraft being piloted is a number 1 in ALL aviation, its a no brainer!!!! This comment is actually a little worrying for me to read. and again, confirms that a weeks training is not enough. Thanks for your 1st post, clearly you have made some effort to post it (whoever you are) SW
  11. Who is 'It' ?? The PMC site allows video embedding (in fact it will do it for you) You can change it in your you tube settings Vince You have the video set to not allow embedding. SW
  12. Hi all, I just wanted to let you know that if you visited the site in the last 24 hours you may have been advised by your browser that the site was not secure. The reason for this is that the certificate was still held by our old hosting company on an auto renewal basis. This time rather that renew I wanted to cancel it and place the order with the new hosting company so that everything is in one place. So the reason for my post, the site was no less secure, it was that we LET the certificate expire which has now been fully renewed. SW
  13. The online fund raising sites are not cool (and the charities tend to dislike them also) There are a few charities which have corporate sponsors who pay staff, rent, and so on. This is so that 100% of the donated money get's to an end user. More and more of them seem to be adopting this model now, which I think is a nice clean way to play. One example of this would be Global Angels. Theses are the type of charities to approach for something like this as more often than not, the same corporate sponsors will sponsor your mission. SW
  14. Hi, That is actually a very good question. One thing I can tell you is that even with a razor sharp hook knife your lucky to hack through one line in 1 min. I have a load of lines so could do a little video on this SW
  15. Come and have a go on one of our Universal 1.1's Super floaty very PG like with trimmers in, goes like a fking rocket with them out and super stable. I have seen a few comments around where people that fly both are suggesting that it IS a wing that is good at both jobs should the desire take you. Many have claimed to be good for both jobs, I don't PG so can not tell you first hand I am afraid. SW
  16. If you own a Parajet, take a look at the new 'Parajet owners club' If you don't start your own owners club with a couple of clicks! SW
  17. Thanks to Tyson Russell for this picture of his 17-year old daughter showing you how light the Parajet Maverick is! I am sure daddy will be getter Janaya in to the skies soon enough as a 21 year flying instructor in the USA at his school Link here Check out the Full article on the Maverick click the image below SW
  18. until

Guess who is booked on to an ADR Hazardous Materials Cat1 explosives, drivers licence renewal Guess who is also booked in on a couple of other courses like, um..... Cat4 (largest possible fireworks allowed in the UK come under this category) handlers and firers course.... Cat 4 event insurance also a phone call away after interrogation / interview and completion of the above courses. I think you can see where this is headed! This is something I have craved doing for a number of years. I think it is clear to most that I just love fireworks!!! This should all be done and dusted before the end of this year which is the reason I thought I would mention it here Is now off to find some 6" mortar tubing anyone fancy helping me build an awesome 'Mortar rack' ??? ( I am s*it at woodwork ) SW
  19. Hi all, So now we have what will become a cool little owners club, who would be up for a mini fly-in / get together for Parajet Owners? If there is enough interest in this group and or an event, I would be more than happy to arrange something. You thoughts? SW
