  1. Duncan, what weight are you? How long do you envisage it being before looking at doing tandem? If you need an F200 for solo flying do you think the F200 will be enough to take a passenger? If you really are heavy then I reckon a Kobra Rocco, a Flat Top evo or a Sportix would be a better machine than a PAP F200.
  2. APCO have been making wings like that for quite a while now. Supposedly it is for drag reduction. I don't like it either.
  3. I don't do beating around the bush! Worst bit of the F200 is the noise.
  4. Exactly, Simonini is a better engine.
  5. Yes when solo, no when tandem because it is not easy to fit a safe to use reserve installation to a tandem rig.
  6. Can you give some info on the kit you were using? I'm particularly interested in the make of paramotor and the engine it was using.
  7. Ask Nigel Farage if he'd like to be involved!
  8. Primarily of interest to Jock and Alan... Flew a FB Simonini with the Aerothrust harness last night after a quick hang check from the garage roof. The Simonini in question featured a titanium 'respect' frame and after removing all parts of the old J bar set up and the back pad the Aerothrust harness fitted very nicely. Flying proved to be very nice and far more comfortable than the original wingman harness. There are a lot of adjustments you can make to the various buckles on this harness so it is definitely worth doing a hang to get the best set up you can before flying. I moved the brake handles from the high hang point, both pulleys, lower dot position to the low hang point, upper pulley only, upper dot position and found it very comfortable. I had previously fitted the harness to a Monster with an old style cage (with curved backwards upper part to the frame where the harness attaches) but found this extra distance caused problems with the motor trying to hang low from the harness. It could be made to work if another bar is welded across horizontally to bring the mounting closer to the pilot. Harness has a grommet on each side for fitting fixed comfort bars but I found it fine just as is. Total cost £130 brand new!
  9. What are the various on/off settings at for the 12 dip switches in the left earcup? How far spaced apart are the clicks? I have experienced something similar with the clicks about 1 second apart. Are they loud or quiet?
  10. At this rate in another 12 months we should have finally convinced you to buy a 1400 with a Top80! I have owned 7 machines and there have been 2 consistent features with almost every change... the cages get bigger while the engines get smaller!
  11. I thought Swing made them for Fresh Breeze as fresh Breeze do not make wings themselves. However it is quite different to the Arcus.
  12. I have a friend who may well be interested in a couple of weeks time if it is still available. Are you talking about a 3 part cage plus the frame or a 2 part cage plus the frame? Either is fine so long as it's not the old upper and lower half split type PAP's
  13. How many parts does the frame split up into?
  14. That's not a Per il Volo Top80. It's an early H&E R80.
  15. I've seen this happen once before and it was purely the plastic starter pawls stuck in the engaged position. A bit of a wiggle and gentle cycling of the pull start freed it and it was fine ever since.
  16. I deliberately got in quick with a sharp reply because this is one not to beat about the bush with. As mentioned above it will be easier for you to turn to the right with your Simonini engine but this is a bit of a trap and one that Dell falls into almost all the time. You will notice (if you can bear his videos) that he nearly always does his spirals to the right. It may be easier in that direction but if you find yourself suddenly descending and jump on the power the torque steer will increase the roll into the ground. Although harder to achieve it is safer to spiral away from the natural torque steer so that a sudden power increase will naturally take you away from the ground. The training suggestion (particularly SIV) is worth its weight in gold.
  17. That's a good point. It is much cheaper to buy a new Adventure unit direct from manufacturer in a country with no official dealer (like the UK) than in one that has a dealer!
  18. No disrespect but could you please empty the tank of fuel, remove the reserve and weigh the machine ready to fly (ie with prop, harness and carabiners, etc). 20kg weight is questionable for a machine whose engine is based on the Simonini which usually weighs 19kg for the engine, exhaust, reduction, intake and prop alone.
  19. It's a brilliant wing for a newbie, possibly the best non-reflex wing out there. It isn't too far behind the reflex wings in terms of speed either. Unfortunately for owners they fetch a pittance which is great for buyers. I know someone who had a real struggle recently selling a medium Silex with just 2 hours airtime for £500. Another guy I know has had one for years, he then thought he'd better go reflex so bought a middle of the road reflex wing only to discover he prefers the Silex. He's been flying his for 6 years very happily. Jeff Goin loves them and has a great Silex review on footflyer.
  20. When your experience level is up to it you won't need to ask.
  21. So where is the power kite handling place bearing in mind you are a Windsor phone number?
  22. Calling it twice is defo a good idea. There are lots of people who call it once but then only leave a micro second before hitting the starter so nobody has any time to react anyway.
  23. Standard snap shackles are used for the jettison system. Was hoping to test fly the aerothrust harness last week but didn't get the opportunity. Plan to do it next week instead.
