  2. Hi Pete Thanks for the input. Paul Bailey replied to an email I sent saying that they can provide a new battery. Good to know that I can improvise if required. With the set up you suggested will the batteries recharge as per the original battery or would wiring need to be altered? I have a friend who is good with electric and batteries from a rc model background so he'll keep me right (and safe). Howimany hours on your Bailey?
  3. Hi All, I used this forum a few times about 5 years ago when I owned a PAP Solo 210 and then a PAP Top 80. I've not had a paramotor since about 2011. Still actively paragliding though! I've now commited to buying a used Bailey V2 175cc with electric start for what, I think, is a very reasonable price. £1500. A local paraglider is looking to move it on as he's not using it at all. The operating manual states new purchase date of June 2007 so my guess is that this is a V2? He is the second owner and claims to have put about 3 hours on it. The first owner claimed to have put a maximum of 40 hours on it. I had a look at it yesterday and everything looks in good order. I will do an oil change on it when I have it and all the usual 40 hour checks like valve clearances etc. Is there anything specific I should be looking for or thinking about? What is the support from Bailey like these days and the spares back-up for this unit? The only issue is that the battery would only start the engine once and that's after it had been on charge all night. So the battery is clearly not holding a full charge which is probably to be expected for a 9 year old battery which hasn't been used much over the past year. I've emailed Bailey tech support to see if they can provide a new one. Is there anyone else who holds spare parts for this unit? Thanks for any advice you can contribute. Cheers. Joe.
  4. Selling my PAP 1400 Top 80 with 125cm wooden prop. Only 12 hours run time, 2007 model. Well looked after. Comes with full size padded transport case. Harness is size medium/black. 2 part cage. Asking £2500 no offers please. Can arrange with buyer for courier to collect if necessary. Pics available on request. Cant justify keeping such an expensive toy at the moment when I have other commitments! Joe 07794 219901.
  5. Thanks for all the input. After talking to a nice man from 'skydragons' I discovered that one of the clutch springs had snapped. An easy fix right enough - phew. Cheers, Joe.
  6. Hiya I have a PAP 1400 Top 80 with just 7 hours on it and have encountered a wee problem. Was flying tonight and decided to kill the engine at 2000ft for a glide down. Progressively reduced the rpm from 8000 to the idle rpm of 2200 then switched engine off. After landing and a short rest I tried to start the motor but the pull start cord wouldnt budge. The prop can be spun the opposite way to normal but doesnt spin the way it should. Dont think the engine is seized because everything was fine before I switched it off. Seems like it could be a clutch issue - ie its somehow engaged and stuck on. Has anyone else encountered this and got any suggestions before I start stripping bits off?? Thanks for any help! Joe.
  7. I was going to view it today but apparently its sold!
  8. Hi Watching a PAP 1300 with Corsair M21Y? engine on ebay. Looks like it has plenty of power for my weight (80kg). Potentially going to buy this as its local but I'd appreciate any advice or opinions from more experienced pilots. Anyone have experience of the Corsair engines? Are they reliable? What is spares back up like? Any idea of the approx worth of the unit on ebay - its under PAP 1300 and comes with wing which I would be selling. Many thanks for any input. Joe.
  9. Hello I have £2000 max to spend on a motor and looking for something like the PAP 1400 Top 80, with 125cm prop or similar. Open to other suggestions. Cheers Joe 07794 219901.
  10. Thanks for all the info folks. Wealth of knowledge here to be tapped in to. Cheers!
  11. Hi all I'm watching a Fresh Breeze Solo 210 with a medium Silex wing on ebay which ends in 2 days. Kind of interested in buying the lot but maybe selling the wing. I had a PAP Solo 210 last year but couldnt justify keeping it at the time but now I'm in a position to buy another motor. Has anyone flown the Fresh Breeze Silex wing and got an opinion on it? My current free-flight wing is an Advance Epsilon 5 - not sure if this or the Silex would be better with paramotor? Also I'd be glad to hear any opinions on the Fresh Breeze Solo 210 by owners past or present. Lastly I've got a budget of approx £2000 if anyone knows of any paramotors coming up for sale?? I weigh 85kg naked and want plenty of power! Cheers! Joe.
  12. Now on ebay for ten days starting at £500, no reserve.
  13. I am now (100% definitely) selling my Solo 210 powered PAP 1100AS due to family commitments and time restraints! Engine has logged approx 70 hours. 2 hours ago it was fully decoked, new piston rings, gaskets, spark plug and K&N style filter fitted. Tillotson carb was also re-tuned and motor is running well. Electrical terminals all recently replaced due to a problem I had with the kill switch - 100% reliable now. I have fitted the PAP active arms for counteracting torque effect, much better than original system. 110cm one piece SS cage with a 98cm wooden prop. Always run with Castrol TTS at correct mix. This unit has the fuel tank on top of the inverted engine - some folk don't like this set up - personally I would prefer it there in the event of a crash (its not gonna burst) and also its easier for refuelling. A few flights ago one of the engine mounts snapped off the frame. I had this professionally welded and it now looks stronger than the original 3 mounts. Motor has never been crashed, I figure the mount snapped because the rubber dampers were old and hard - so they were all replaced with brand new ones on the rebuild. I weigh 85kgs and this motor gets me off the ground pretty well but its not ideal for anyone much heavier. Bad points - small chip on the leading edge of the prop but I've repaired it with epoxy. Also the prop is slightly crushed around the cap that holds it on but in my opinion it is nothing to worry about. Reduction belt is showing signs of wear but I will be replacing that this week. If anyone is interested and would like more info and detailed pics of anything they need to see (not me naked) then please pm me. I am based near St Andrews, Fife and you are welcome to come and view with some notice. £850 or offers please. Going on ebay next week probably. Cheers, Joe
  14. Hi all I have a PAP 1100AS with Solo 210 and having a few problems - some pointers would be a great help please. It was running sweet this evening for the first 20 minutes of my flight then I noticed that in mid to high revs the engines loses power in pulses - kind of like surging on and off. It seems ok at low revs and idle. I would go to rev at max rpm and it would respond, then drop off, then come back on again and so on........ I landed and tried to stop the engine with kill switch but it kept running. I had this 'stop' problem last month and found the fault to be a bad electrictal termination so that was all fixed. Therefore I dont think the 'kill switch' problem is electrically related. Could a build of carbon deposits cause the 'dieseling' or 'running on' effect that I've heard about before on here? Also would a build of carbon be the cause of my engine dropping in and out of power at certain rpm's? If this is the case I could simply decoke the engine and hope that this would solve the problem - although it was decoked about 10 hours ago! My reduction belt is tight enough and not slipping and carb set up right. Anyone think of something obvious I should check? Thanks for any tips! Joe
  15. Hi Anyone interested in buying a PAP 1100AS with Solo 210 before I advertise it on ebay? Its logged 65 hours give or take a couple of hours. 98cm two blade wooden prop in a 110cm cage. Sup'air harness and the new PAP active arms to counteract torque effect. Low hang points. Overall good condition but requires a little attention. Sometimes it starts on 2nd or 3rd pull and other times it takes a little more effort - could prob do with a strip down, decoke etc. Runs excellent once started. I think the bearing on the prop hub is on its way out - probably wouldnt cost much too replace. Last but not least there is a broken weld where the engine is mounted to the frame - a good welder could fix this no problem - can send pictures if you PM me. Never ever crashed this paramotor so I think the vibration of the motor has caused the broken weld. Generally this cage is bombproof but I guess everything breaks eventually! This has been a great 1st paramotor for me - provides plenty of thrust to get me off the ground (naked weight is 85kg). I would love to have the time to fix the small faults with it but I have a new addition to the family and time/money are rare just now - also the reason why I am selling it. Sticking to free-flying for now until I can afford to buy a more modern motor. Can send multiple pics if required - PM me your email address. Offers in region of £800 please due to the above mentioned work required. Will be a fantastic motor for someone with a little TLC. Cheers, Joe.
