  1. Strange I thought the whole idea of a forum was to talk/exchange views... Thank god for forums and please remember SHOUT OUT LOUD, Alan. To be fair you are digging up a thread that died over 8 months ago and then quoting v23 commenting on a post by Welder that has since been removed. Might be an idea to check the details before shouting out loud perhaps.
  2. I live within 20 minutes of the Loft but still choose to deal with Aerofix. Far better service from Aerofix.
  3. The BHPAs insurance is 3rd party (ie protecting against damage occuring to someone else) whereas a reserve is carried to protect the 1st party (ie you). I don't know for sure but I'm not aware of there being a reserve requirement. After all for training a reserve could be considered an extra hazard.
  4. I modified my ATC 2K with a wide angle lens and removed the waterproofing on the microphone that muffles the sound. It is covered in this web site... http://www.utahtrikes.com/ARTICLE-31.html Don't worry, despite being from Utah and mentioning trikes it is not Dell!
  5. Fuel shouldn't be included in AUW calculations. AUW = Paramotor + wing + reserve + pilot + gadgets Fuel is a variable which might not be there. The effect of its weight not being there is potentially more significant than its inclusion. Agree with the above post... at most be slightly over on a R30 or a S34 but to go to a tandem would make reversing very difficult (bordering dangerous in some cases) and nil wind forwarding very hard work.
  6. The synthesis is a lovely easy wing to launch but the 34 is slightly harder as there is so much area to pull up. Try launching with the trim set to about 3 units fast and it will launch even easier (even in no wind conditions).
  7. Jeez, I'm not trying to compare anything with anything! I was just replying to the earlier post to say that if you have an HEIS and don't get that second spark then something is wrong.
  8. From an HEIS installation guide... Be careful! Your new H.E.I.S. will start very, very easy. It will only take 100 RPM’s versus 500 RPM’s to start. If you have a Tiny Tach you will have to get it recalibrated or exchanged for the "1-c" model because it's now getting a double spark and the "2-c" model will read twice the rpms. Your paramotor may get better fuel consumption and will be easier to start. ...so the second spark is a by-product of the HEIS set up. It isn't wasted because it the energy for the HEIS.
  9. If the system has a HEIS fitted then that second spark is used to augment that so it is not wasted.

I have a 200cc modern auto which is great fun to ride. It is standard except for a gear up kit for better motorway riding. These days I can have more fun on back roads while remaining legal than I could on the big bikes I used to ride.
