  1. Nice video! Man see the sand and mud on those poor gliders? Man I can not wait to get my hands in mine! It hurts having a brand new glider sitting in someones closet! I hope to get it down to Brazil soon! I will continue taking my sedatives until then.
  2. Some one asked me how I got the large 130 prop on the miniplane Looking at this picture its exactly what mine looks like with the 130 prop its almost equal to the cage. Its always a fight weight vs ......... I've never had an issue with forward or reverse. Maybe not the best setup for a beginner. But if you want a light motor with good thrust this would be the ticket.
  3. Man I will never start my motor unless its on my back now. My finger throttle is on the way.
  4. Hey hey hey its fiberglass and Aluminum!!!! Yea I wonder what the safety aspect really is. It has the normal netting like most all motors. Aluminum cross bars only the round outer ring in fiber glass. So is there really any more or less protection? I'm of the option its not much different. But when I watch people helping others into their motor and I grab the mini by the shoulder strap and throw it over the other shoulder I grin everytime One thing I will say I will never buy another motor without low hang point weight shift. Man its a really dream. I don't know how the guys fly high hang point solid.
  5. I know. Is there not some sort of dance you can do to rid us of this crapy weather. Tell me, I'm now totally addicted to weather forecasts. Is this normal It get's worse.... its only the start. You're are going to be in many serious that you will not remember because your watching the trees, birds and clouds. Just pray they are not with the wife and about money and you`re agreeing to everything just to make the conversation stop. lol
  6. Man nice practice field! It should make a nice launch area soon Man I would love to have the parks and open areas here in Vitoria Brazil you guys in the UK/NA have. With the mountains here open areas are far and few and they don't keep things here like they do in UK/NA. If its an open area and not used why trim and clean???? lol But keeps the tax down! Welcome to the sport! man.... wing & motor available..... but no Simon.... man that would be hard. Come on Simon get this man in the air!
  7. I seen the trims full out and the a's being pulled down. I would have thought the shrimp was from more pulling of the a's. I'm surprised the releasing of the a's caused the shrimp. I just can not see the release causing this, know what I mean? We use to do shrimps by pulling the inside a's for a rapid descent much like a b line stall (if it was supported by your glider of course). I love the response of the glider! lol I was out this weekend flying from city to city on the Nuc. almost fell asleep on the way back lol T
  8. Not cheap! but looks like a nice unit. One of the most powerful and light weight units on the market. Titanium cage and frame, with Ultra Ventor 130 engine Electric Start Quiet Comes with low or high attachment points Option of a titanium muffler 130 lbs of thrust 46 lbs / Ready to fly Comes with a 2 parts 125 cm composite propeller Optional 130 cm composite propeller for more thrust Price: $6,990.00 http://www.paratour.com/content/ultra130.php If you need the 130cm that puts the unit into 7,300 + tax 8k
  9. I don`t understand at the end he was trim out foot extended and then nothing happen all was cool. Then the canopy did a shrimp. Was that from pulling the brakes after?
  10. It`s here open Google maps and plug this in Av. Dante Michelini, 1527-1801 - Mata da Praia you can see the airport behind. you can actually see the expansion underway right now. I hope to get another night flight in this week. it`s really nice to have a place like this two blocks away! cheers did you get out today? T
  11. Good to see you up man!!!! I seen the picture of your house and thought the same you got so pissed off you started to burn paragider formations in the farmers fields!!! I also got a good flight in yesterday. My go-pro was acting up missed a ton of good beach! love the pic`s!!!!! How did the motor run? You did some work right? I actually got to fly with another glider lol. I`m getting tired of flying alone. I need to find some pilots that fly for more then 15min at a time and like to cover some ground. I have a bbq today.... I want so badly to skip and go flying. Man this social thing gets in the way of flying.... lol if i had my way I`b be flying hermit! http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?go ... &sc=122062 Looks like 20kns coming in tonight maybe after the bbq I`ll go for a mildly impaired kite session. Next week is looking crazy good 25deg and nice wind. I`ll post that night flight soon. I would love to try a night flight off the beach with the full moon. Man that would be ....... ok one more for the bucket list! Cheers guys, T
  12. Well I had my first night flight. Wow is all I can say. Here in Vitoria Brazil we have a beach that now has lights almost the entire length. Its a bay and when you have wind its not a place you want to fly. However almost every night the wind drops to zero just after dark. So a few of us decided hemmmm lets give it a go! This was also my first zero wind forward launch with the Nuc. I honestly thought it was going to be a disaster. Two reasons, never done a forward with the nuc in total 0 wind and the sand is really lose. I thought the sand was going to get me for sure. I watched a video or two where the guys took two-three steps back so this is what i did.... then commit 110%. I was amazed the Nuc jumped over head and i thought ok then....... its hammer time! full throttle here we come..... that was it. The first turn over the water, black wow. after a few passes I clicked on the tunes I cant tell you how surreal it was. This location is neat in the fact that one person brakes the rules and we lose the right to fly. Less then half a mile to the NW is the local airport. After long talks with them and they made it crystal clear, one glider comes over the high rises and your toast! So we have about 5-8k of beach we can fly but no more then 50m or so. It just happens to be about two blocks away for most of us. I`ll post a video. The go-pro does not do night vids that well lol cheers
  13. Steve, great review! You know sometimes you just have to lead and not follow! But why? you going into a comp and looking to eliminate all possible parasitic drag? I was in tears reading that!
  14. Board at work again.... found this With its DHV 1/1-2 (accelerated) rating, the Arcus 5 is the ideal all-rounder. Furthermore, its excellent glide and its good speed range are excellently suited to cross-country flying. It also has a very good safety margin, which make it suitable for learners. In the air, the Arcus 5 has a generally more compact feeling. The thinner material used for the A and B lines has put its speed and liveliness up a notch, without having any impact on its usual good-natured handling. The new wing allows the pilot to have great fun in thermals and cross-country flying but it is not at all demanding for less experienced pilots and beginners. Its' launch behaviour 5 is very simple and is perfectly tuned particularly for beginners. This makes it the ideal glider for a very wide range of pilots, from beginners and social pilots through to cross-country pilots. The Arcus 5 conveys a very well-balanced feeling during flight and has excellent ascent behaviour and good damping. This guarantees enjoyable thermaling and many hours in the air. The Arcus 5 far exceeds all other gliders with DHV 1 rating when it comes to performance and speed. Nevertheless the Arcus 5 has clearly more good-natured flight behaviour than pure DHV 1-2 gliders. 15. Man would I love to Fly Scotland, always wanted to go there!
  16. Alan help me out, spamcanners? is that a UK term or have you been into the sauce again due to bad weather? I agree you need to keep an eye out. But how many times have you been playing around, wing overs, spirals and stuff? You are up high in that traffic area and not 100% watching your surroundings. even taking pictures and movies? what's coming behind you before you turn? Just things I was thinking of after seeing two planes creep up on me. One more thing, I'm in Brazil and I find not to many pilots have see a Paramotor. I become a point of interest to them ( I think) the last guy turned and started coming right at me. I was not sure at first what was going on until I seen them taking pictures. I was not sure if I should be pissed or not. Either way it was a little freaky.
  17. Morgy thanks for the info. I like them they look nice. I have a nice miniplane small frame and large 130 carbon it works really well for now. But I assure you if I feel the need to change I will call you, you have been a great help! 27k is really good for a 4banger. they have done a nice job on the unit. I was just wondering how much they weigh I like a light unit and love the idea of 4stroke.
  18. Manufacture defect! good thing you caught it before it became a real problem!
  19. You know what. I was looking at the Force and comparing that but didn't look at the Fusion. Yea that's a little...... strange, is that the weight of a med with motor?
  20. [vimeo] [/vimeo]That is a cool vid! board..... need to fly..... Alan you must be crazy about now!
