  1. Pete, thanks for the info. Makes sense to me. For those interested, I've just changed prop for the tri-blade and it revs fine now, about 7,200. Must be a lesser pitch on the 2 blade. Darrel
  2. Am I the only one who thinks "judge dredd" when I see this topic pop up Darrel
  3. Again, just thinking about it a little more. I would think the greater pitch is for the 2 blade and the smaller the 3. Is there sense in my thinking. Darrel
  4. Also, can someone explain how you measure prop pitch. Just checked the walkerjet site and it says a pitch of either 8 or 11. I've no idea how you tell. I do know my prop is to short as its running a 125 and should have a 130 but I guess the pitch is key.
  5. So I managed to tune my Fly 200 this weekend, since it was running rich and got it running much better. However I noticed that it seems to rev way to high. It’s revving to over 8.5K and the book says 7.8K max. I suspect the replacement prop I have is the wrong pitch. Is there any other reason why it would rev to high? That being the case, I’ll fit my nice new 3 blade since that should be the correct spec for it. Thoughts? Darrel
  6. Well the first flight has worn off now and I'm pretty desperate to do my next one. I’ve reviewed the videos and have a mental list of do’s and don’ts so hopefully my next flight will be even better. I'm going to do my tuning and hang test tomorrow but that's about all I have to do.....Nothing else to tinker with while I wait for a window that fits with the weather and work. Still I've got the bank holiday week off work so what's the betting the weather turns and we have a week of snow !!! I just need a good launch site, some weather and time. Perhaps I’ll try something in the eve later in the week since the weather looks promising in the Herts / Essex area. Shout if anyone is up for some evening flying Darrel
  7. Some video from my helmet cam. Sorry about the tilt, I had other things on my mind ! Darrel [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]
  8. Indeed. Although it's all good learning I guess. I have found it really useful to get someone to video them since you pick up so much to improve (unless of course yours is perfection). Good luck with yours and I hope all goes well. Darrel
  9. theres a couple on ebay Thanks Dave but they are small ones. I need something a bit larger. Thanks anyway. Darrel
  10. You are bang on. Already noted that I need to adjust it and tilt it back more. Under power i was tipping slightly forward with my lines on the top of the cage. Something to check and adjust over the weekend. Darrel
  11. So here is a video of my first flight. Yes I’ve learnt a truck load of things. 1, Make sure you hold your brakes way up at launch. Looks like I was dragging mine a little to start. 2, A dab of brake can save your arse on launch – Lucky Colin told me about that on this one. 3, My hand point is wrong, I was tipping to far forward. Need to adjust that. 4, My engine is rich. I need to tune it a bit weaker. Play time in the garden. 5, Helps if I flare a little closer to the ground. Still I made it down with me and my kit in one piece. I'm not sure what's up with the youtube clip so here is the link as well [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]
  12. Tonight it all worked well. Managed my first flight without major incident. Massive thanks to Colin and Jamie. I'll post pictures and video tomorrow. Great evening. Now I just need the next one. Who's flying soon Darrel
  13. Well I can't seem to post in the "Kit wanted" section so I'll post here. Anyone know where I can get a cheap reserve. Need to carry 130kg. Anyone got one they want to sell or do we know of the cheapest retailer around. I don't care what brand etc just something that works. Thanks Darrel
  14. Already had the same thought. I'm getting a wooden prop tomorrow. I'll use that for now and save this for another day. Darrel
