  1. All Please put your name here if you would like to come on a Parajet Factory visit on Sat the 25th of August. We will leave Lambourn at 0900 the factory is in Mere (wiltshire)
  2. Chris, The Lambourn Club uses the Thames Valley Club frequency which is 143.950 (it has been this for many years as far as I know and is used by some 700+ Paragliders.) We use the same one as not to annoy any more people than needed and it helps us to locate free flyers who land out and may need help. Hope this helps.
  3. No, it is not a problem. (but it can be if you dont set it up correctly) You need to ensure that the harness is set up correctly for the pilot. each time it changes hands. The problems with Mike and Norm is that they are both big blokes, Mike was on my motor (a volution with a med harness) so I he has now ordered a large harness. Norman is on the largest harness but a super big bloke, We have now sorted his harness out to 'fit him' by using my hangpoints in the barn. The Large Parajet Harness is very large indeed Norms Knee support flap was not adjusted correctly. I was told not to get into my harness on my first flight. You will not need to worry Tony as you are about the size I used to be and you will fit nicely into the School Parajet. Its you or Stuart next mate......
  4. I thought from your post? I will have another look LOL maybe the other heavy Pilot. (Having had another look, I have no idea where I saw it? It may have been a combo of Red wine and a bucket load of 7's in your post...... thats about the best I can come up with Odd, I did think it was rather alot!
  5. I would also like to say thanks! We had a great weekend (the best yet I would say) a good amount of flying, 3 first flights, followed by a BBQ that seemed to be sponsored by Guinness!!! and the last person flopped at 03:00 hrs then rolled into the tents (or in my case my lovely soft bed ) I have met some of the nicest people I have met in the sport this weekend which is testment to the Lambourn Paramotor Club and it's members! And I have to say..... teaching a flying instructor / BA Captin with 7000+ hours how to fly a Paramotor did feel a little odd but is well up there at the top of my boast list. Still buzzing from a great couple of days. Thanks to EVERYONE who turned up for this awesome day..... It is the people that make the party!
  6. I always hold one A and a brake in each hand. I then have control over BOTH 'wings' the left and the right when bringing it over my head. I was taught this method by the BHPA. and have never had a problem with it.
  7. We will have a look at it at my place mate If it is doable, we will do it. SW
  8. As a rule I tend to say dont use any chemicals to clean your wing.... but..... You can buy, very light, natual soap, for cleaning GoreTex and the like it is just a VERY mild soap. Failing that you will have to buy a new wing LOLOLOLOLOL
  9. A Dudek 31 and a Javeline. 60kg of thrust. Please dont give him the Kit excuse as well Have a great holiday Stuart
  10. All, This weekend, (11th-12th) is the proposed Dartmoor flight. There is still a slight possibility that we will be able to fly this trip so keep your fingers Xed!!!!!! but if not, I will be training on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I may be camping out somewhere one of the nights with a mate for a sunrise flight back to Lambourn. but I will have to see what the wind direction is doing on the day. On Saturday until about 1700 I will have the above mentioned mate with me who will be more than happy to ground crew a decent XC for anyone flying. Any other ideas welcome.
  11. All, The weather for our flight to Dartmoor is looking at the moment to be a SW / W wind direction. This is great for the flight FROM Dartmoor to Lambourn. So we have two options, 1, Go to Dartmoor on Friday, Camp the night, up early, fly route in reverse. or 2, All invloved, ground crew, pilots, e.t.c come to Lambourn as planed on Satarday, do a nice long flight, camp somewhere, fly back the next day. What do you think?
  12. Foot and Mouth and our fields. Our current landowners are 100% Arible (or whatever the spelling) farmers and thus have no Cows. It goes without saying that if you land out, make sure it is not in a field full of cows! and not becasue they will be MAD at you, but the farmer may well be! If you do land in a field full of cows, do not leave the farm until you have found a member of staff and ask them if you need to disinfect and where to do so and then do just that.
  13. I have had one or two early ones. Nice silky smooth air, love it! I am more than ready for the Dartmoor trip....... just a case of waiting to see what the weather is doing over the weekend.... I have been busy as always with teaching and doing some garden admin at home. My garden looks like a rain forest! (Well did look like a rain forest) When do you think that you will be around for some training Norman? SW
  14. You hit the nail on the head, To much pressure mate! you just need to chill out and not rush yourslef. Frame of mind is (in my opinion) 80% of a sucessfull launch with a Paramotor. Spend between now and your next visit Re-jigging your mind set and you will have a great flight, your not fighting your kit mate, your trying to become one with it. You know how to do it, so next time just get it done. Keep your chin up... (makes it easyer for someone to hit LOLOL) SW
  15. I did belive you mate I want to shoot some, I am not interested in spraying shot all over the place but I would be very interested in blatting off a few hundred well placed rounds. ( REF Rabbits though, I am sure if you talk to Sally Ann once she knows you a little better she will let you terminate a few bunnies for her)
  16. Nice one Paul! Thanks mate. It will be good to see you so soon after your last visit....... Me thinks I will owe a pint for that one! SW
  17. My rapidly expanding paramotor School requires old Paramotor / Paragliding kit for ground school work. All, If you have old kit in your garage, loft, e.t.c old harnesses (even ripped is OK) ALL BLAGGED KIT WILL BE FOR GROUND USE ONLY AND NOT FLOWN OR SOLD. Old wings, harnesses, helmets, anything that you have that you dont think is worth anything, try me with a price Thanks all.
  18. OK, this is an exact account of something that happened today. New Student (day 2) 65kg Wing 1 was a 27 square meter reflex wing which was not a synth 3 Blokes running in nil wind doing a hand tow and let me tell you, it was VERY HARD and in fact we did not suceed, the wing just seemed to need to much of a 'nack' to get it overhead and flying. Wing 2 was a synth 29 (point to note bigger wing but this is not my point here, I am not talking about 'lift' or 'speed' I am talking about getting it flying. It was still nil wind and the people were all the same but the wing just came up nicely. I do of course sell and fly the synthesis myself and would be very happy to reccomend it to a newbie, I am sure you will be after an independant view. So click this link http://paramotorclub.org/forum/viewtopi ... sc&start=0
  19. I could not agree more mate It is not good when this happenes of course but if even one person learns from watching the video to fly high enough to A) sort out the wing or B) Deploy a reseve, then it will have been well worth the thread
  20. Welcome Mark, Do let us know how you get on.... How are you learning? We have all types in here, books, videos, BMAA, Independant........Even BHPA Welcome on board, Please ignor my PM asking if you were my mare Mark Taggart.... (google it)
  21. "There is no chance of recovery from a flat spin when flying at the height we do the cloverleaf." I have to ask mate, I just have too..... So why do you do it?
