  1. This is just for a bit of fun, (well maybe a nice bottle of bubbly for the winner) The Lambourn Paramotor Club, would like to host an accuracy comp at its site in West Berkshire. Entry will be £5 per pilot, Spectators can donate. The comp will be held on Saturday the 30th of June (two weeks away) Anyone who is interested in taking part sould get in touch with me by reply.
  2. I have just found more footage on You Tube, your not in it though Dave.
  3. Now Lets talk about Spot landings and how the Paramotor pilots differ fropm Paragliding. I have to say I think the Paragliders have got it right, you launch, you do a circuit or whatever and then you land as close to the center of the spot as possible. Now the Paramotorors seem to come in long and lo and tap the spot only to land abut 15 feet away....... Whats that all about? I think the Lambourn Paramotor Club may have to hold an accuracy comp the hard way Whos up for that? bit of fun of course.
  4. Dave, Call me Ref Sponsor Also Video of you & Plasma was taken by Rob Gribbles mum. I will ask him to reply here with an update. 07983 428 453
  5. And a link for Job applications?? LOL
  6. Just post a link to the picture, highlight it and click the Img button below. (I think) LOL (It must be uploaded to the internet somewhere (so why not your Album space?
  7. Which motor, How much do you want to spend? Ok in my view an idea motor for a new pilot is any one of the RAD range www.radparamotors.co.uk and cost from £2250 or there abouts and up to £2500 brand new. ( I like them because you can hit them back into shape if you bend it e.t.c) At the top of the Paramotor tree (again my view) is the Parajet, the build quality blows the competition out of the water! The support is second to non, order time from new is under 6 weeks! I became a dealer in the products above becasue they were good, so I make no appoligy for bigging them up now Welcome to the sport! Dont forget to fill in the location in your profile
  8. OK so the wind has now moved around to a NW and a SE on Sunday. The wind is low so Martin, Slim, Colin, I recon still a great day for you!
  9. I have used the speedbar to steer a para'glider' before and it seemed to work just fine As with anything to do with flying I suppose as long as you keep movments slow and progressive you should get plenty of warning if your doing something wrong. 'by no means a master of the subject nor something that I teach'
  10. Everone, Please could you fill in a location in your profiles even if its just a county. This is so that we can start to arrange flyins and events at other locations around the UK. If your area has a low representation of members it is unlikely that we will hold a fly in in that area. Cheers
  11. You just want me to break it so that you can have my brand spanker in two weeks!!! May do. may just have a good look at it. (teaching at the weekend you see), will do test / demo flight in the morning and thats about it for me I recon. Also I am happy to lend out my kit but don't like to borrow others. (cant afford to replace it) Ta 4 the offer!
  12. If you are reading this and fancy a go on a Parajet please pop down (after two weeks time) and have a go! As you may or may not know, ParamotorClub.org is now an official Parajet (and RAD) dealer and will soon become a stockist! (the first I think) So to arrange a joy ride is simple. Cool
  13. OK so we are a bit closer to the time....... Sat is still looking like a SW and under 8mph!!! Clear skies, and 26 c ! If you are in training this is a day that you should consider as you will get SO MUCH done in one day. You can expect to be 'hopping' down our gentle South slope for as much of the day as you can. Those who are close to flying bring your motor! If in doubt, Bring your motor. In fact just bring your motor anyway Let me know by reply or pm if you are going to be able to make it and make sure that you call me before 0900 on the morning.
  14. We have reached our 100th member in a staggering 5 weeks!!! Yipppeeee. I knew it was going to work but not this quickly! Thanks to all who have joined.
  15. Col, You should soon be able to upload your own 'paramotoring' videos to this site
  16. Hi Ian, I know you spend your days flying around the globe so thought I would post a message here for you to see Can you buzz me when next in the UK and not jetlagged Ref: synth Cheers !
  17. Cool sound track after it kicks in!
  18. All, I am very happy to be an official Parajet dealer and Instructor. I went to Parajet today to see the workshop. I have to say, it was nice to see!!! Clean, Tidy, but busy. And so were the Everest motors!! WOW Anyway......... I will have my demo motor here in 2 weeks time so if you want to have a fly on one give me a shout and I will make it happen. (but not before me opf course!) Why not try the ultimate combo?? A Parajet and a ReAction / Synthisis! I did also get the low down on the everest thing and the footage will be on the Discovery Chanel in 6 months time. They 'parajet' are not allowed to use the pics or video footage before it has been on air. (Which is a fair one I recon!). Cheers 4 now
  19. All, Slim / Stuart, was here for day 1 today And has learned how to Parawait Anyway, we did the Met Theory and the Theory of Flight and I said that I would e-mail him some weather sites. So I thought I would post them here for all. Please feel free to add to it if you fing a good site. www.weatherjack.co.uk 'MY CHOSEN SITE' FREE run by Jack Harrison :- I was a professional pilot for over 40 years retiring on 60th birthday in Dec 1998. Total hours all types 18,000 + For roughly half those 40 years, I flew in the Royal Air Force. It was either large Transport aircraft or instructing. The final tour combined both - a C130 Hercules instructor. C130 I was then airline pilot with Air UK (later KLM UK) flying types such as the BAe146, and inevitably, was a Training Captain for much of the time. My first gliding solo was in May 1955 and the third (distance) diamond was completed in 1982 in a Std Cirrus. I called it a day at the end of 2005 but continue to be active in non-flying gliding matters www.xcweather.co.uk free 'donations via paypal' a great site but I tend to find its forecasts a little scetchy at times. www.bbc.co.uk/weather a great site for a general outlook for the day in your area. As accurate as it gets, (which is not very) For Training and or ground work and non powered launches at Lambourn you need not more than 10mph south west to south east. Cheers all
  20. Thanks for the videos They show a nice easy take off. Keep us informed as to your thoughts
  21. Jeff your always welcome to it. Glad you enjoyed it. Any word from your friend who may be interested in flying?
  22. In the next day or two, the area that we have been using as our site will be out of bounds. The reason is that they are planting grass seed. During this time, we have access to the south facing grass slope. This can take wind directions from west through South to East. (For a North Launch during this time please use any space that can be found to the north of the woods) This is a bit of a pain in the arse but the long term benefits are going to be great! Please bear with it and if in doubt please call before flying 07983 428 453
  23. Cotswolds mate Hey, are you down on Friday for a hop down our South facing hill? Its looking good for it.
