  1. Thats a result!! It seems to be updating by itslef.. Thanks very much for that little gem. I will ask my web geek to generate a page for this and link it from the home page, hey I may even have a go myself.
  2. I have been MIGHTY busy the last few days getting what with this great weather we are having. 12-hour stints in the field every day to get the back log of people who have been suffering from the rain through and getting some great training and flying done. What an Awesome few days!!! Weesplat / Colin has had a good few XC flights and so has added his name to the Dartmoor list of Pilots!! WELL DONE COLIN (you have put in the required effort mate! Dan the Man and Martin have come close to there first fligfhts and will be doing so very soon now. One guy flew his new wing and loved it. Mike had his first Powerd flight and had a nice 50 min extended circuit on the schools motor. Took another 2 bookings for training. Got another three Lambourn PM club members.... WHAT A WEEK SO FAR Were off...... Yipppeeeeeeeeeee Sorry I have been a little quiet but I have been a lot busy 'GOOD BUSY'
  3. Thanks Mike! I am waiting for news to call you with As soon as I know you will know. Thanks for the bigging up.
  4. The answer to this is simple... Dont mess around trying to do wing overs stupidly close to the ground. If he was doing that at 2000ft + (Where I have my play time) he would have been able to a) Recover or B) Throw his reserve. JUST GET THE F**K AWAY FROM THE GROUND 'in short'
  5. OK, Princetown is 8km away yes. But it a LONG way down also. Having lived in Princetown for most of my childhood and went to School in Tavistock Comp, then most of my ARMY training on Dartmoor......... I would say that it can be snowing in Princetown and in fact be CUT OFF for a week sometimes, and Tavistock (8KM away will have no snow) If you look at Princetown mast from Tavistock it looks like a snow capped mountain in the winter. The wind is normaly as mentioned a little higher, and the temp 2-3c cooler. I would say.... Use the Tavistock one for a general vibe..... But.... I will get an accurate weather report form a bod on the ground on the day we fly and at each stop. I am getting VERY excited about this flight now......... Cant wait!!!!
  6. Just a point to note.... Tavistock is WAY lower down that Princetown itself.

  12. All, In 16 days time (11th of August) a group of us hope to be taking off from the Lambourn Club site and Landing in Dartmoor, we are staying there for the night (next to a nice big warm pub with food and beer) For the people who are flying mthe day will work as follows@ 05:00 Arrive at Lambourn Club 05:10 Final route brief and Radio Check 05:30 Personal Flight Admin 05:55 first person to launch 06:05 Last person to Launch 06:10 Ground Crew Route Brief (an old friend) 06:20 Ground Crew start to move We aim to be at Parajets petrol stop (including ground crew with petrol and personal stuff) by 08:00 09:00 Launch for second leg Timings oast this point would be inaccurate but I hope the second leg will take around 2hrs 15 mins. and the flight into Dartmoor a further 45-mins. Has anyone got any issues that need looking into? help with some kit? anything that is stopping you from flying or helping on the ground Let us know now so that we have to time to get each other sorted out if needed. The Weather is looking like it is on the mend as I am sure you all know. Cant Wait
  13. Hillside...... Shivering....... Na...... your thinking Paragliding...... We are..... well..... paramotorors...... LOL It will ge great to introduce you to some proper flying and get you out of that computer controlled missile you sit in Not sure if I know you enough to get away with that just yet but hey..... Welcome!
  14. All, It is likely that I will be at the new site nice and early if it is flyable, so as per norm (for people on a course that is) give me a bell before 09:00hrs and I will be stood in the field trying to suss out the day Stuart, you will need to go to my house and pick up your motor I will make sure you can get to it. Fingers Xed.
  15. Of course On the nice new MASSIVE lump of land we have as our temp site. Assuming the weather is good on Sat and Sun for training I will have the following people.... Stuart 'First Flight' Tony 'Day two' Sally Ann 'Day one' Martin 'End of ground work, close to flight' Dan ' end of ground work, close to flight' Could end up to be a great weekend for Dartmoor training as well for those who need it Hope to see some faces.
  16. Until further notice, the Lambourn Paramotor club can only use the very best site in the UK to fly from. At least until the BIG barley fields are cut (mid -end August I think) we have permission from the land owners (thanks Sally Ann) to use the most perfect field in all the land. How to find it at the weekend (becasue the weather looks like it could be OK, Monday is also looking like it may work) Get on to the B4000 ) which is the road that you have to turn off to drive up our drive. If you are heading FROM Lambourn to the temp site, you would have our house on the Right Hand Side and continue on the B4000. You will soon start to drive up a fairly long hill and will end up at the 'Ridgeway carparks' before going back down the hill again. STOP AT THE TOP!!!! Park in the Carpark on the Riight Hand side of the road (same side as our house is on.) You will notice a MASSIVE (cant see the other end) field in front of you. (THIS IS OUR TEMPORY SITE) This is a fairly public area, so SAFETY AT ALL TIMES PLEASE!!!!!! Good look around for little children before starting your prop, and please do shout something to let people know. PLEASE no low level flying, there will be spectators, public cars, dogs, children, in the carpark and along the ridgeway itself my advice STAY WELL CLEAR OF THEM (Height) The Crop Circle is in the field on the opposite side of the road so makes for some great pictures. If in doubt please call me. You just wait until you see this site............ (And yes Stuart)
  17. I do hope it will be good for the weekend.... As always mate you are welcome! we will get you ground handling your wing like a pro in no time
  18. Bonjor Pete, Hows it going Thinking about peoples time off, I thought 7 days was going to be the max, to I thought 5 days in the Alps flying. The Transport costs you can expect to be around 100 euros each. (if we get up to 15 people) Go on Pete you know you want It could be that two people drive the kit over there a few days before or something if this would help.
  19. Great, You can help my Ex medic mate He is going to do some 'real' first aid training (I am sure you know what I mean) I will put you in touch with each other.
  20. So the weather has done it! I am running a trip at the end of oct 07. I got hold of an old friend who I knew had a big posh place in St Andre Les Alpes. Who fancies this, A minibus or similar for people, a van for the kit and a drive to St Andre to stay at the nice big posh place in flying heven with your Paramotor next to you for 5-7 days?. Free Flying Paragliding tendems also available on site, mountain bikes, Trail Bikes, WIth a SnowBoard Resort just a 5 min flight away. If you are not familiar with the epic flying place that is St Andre go here now, and Imagine that you are flying through it on your motor! http://www.vaucluse-visites-virtuelles. ... glish.html Other snazzy stuff, group GPS map tracking software (like memory map but much better fly throughs e.t.c) Ok so what is the cost of this dream world away from the land of never ending rain I talk off! 30 Euros a night will ensure you will enjoy extreme comfort while in flying heven. The cost of a minibus, Van, petrol, expenses will be shared by all. So say 5 days @ 30 of them euro things = 150 of them funny euro things + say another 100 things for expenses as described above = 250 things So by the time I sell my euro things and buy some beans and then sell the beans to make tome good old £ Quids I recon it will cost...a whopping!!!!!! sit down before scrolling down..... Paramotor heven waits for you...... but how much you ask.... £170 Yep One hundred and seventy quid each.* *personal drinking habits are not covered in the above costs. Are you interested? FIRST COME FIRST SERVE (Prices above worked out for 15 people) Less people would mean more money, but more comfort. POST YOUR NAME HERE NOW TO BOOK UP
  21. I can 100% confirm that the event has been cancelled. which is arse.
  22. All, When you are flying with me, if you land in a tree, a river, land hard, break your leg, or hurt yourself in a far worse way, I will be able to help you to be as painless as possible, I will know how to reassure you, I will know how to keep you and the people around you calm. Hey I may even just know how to save your life! As a part of my Paramotor Training Course I run a Firat Aid day specific to Paramotoring / Paragiding accidents. I am very aware that most pilots do not have to do this. I think that everyone should do it! The course is free and will be taught by an Ex Army Medic, Can you save the life of fellow pilot? Please let me know if you would like to attend a free first aid course so that the horrible time that you need to know how to save a life... you will! I asked this question before and was shocked to see the poor response, I expect the course to be held shortly after the Dartmoor Flight (so plan off for the end of August) Come on guys and girls, its the responsable thing! Please reply to this thread if you are interesed with your name
  23. Martin you shock me!! But of course, as I always say, if its flyable... and there is training to be done, Training will be done! Training on Saturday will be at Redlands (Ground work only) (which is yourself, asquaddie, Slim, and Clive ) On Sunday I would quite like to spend a day with Slim as it is likely to be the day of his first flight I want to ensure that each first flight is strictly 1 on 1 with no distractions, so Sunday if you want to do more Ground Work, Again Redlands will accomodate you (my students that is) I will be at Lambourn with SliM fo rmuch of the day if he can make it and the weather is good.
  24. ITS THIS WEEKEND!!!!!! I will be flying over. If any of my current students would like to visit Redlands and do some ground work, PLEASE do feel welcome. Yippeeeeeee... Guess what I am doing now??? going for another fly!! ( I want to hit 20 hours in a month on the Parajet if I can) now that's a test I enjoy.
  25. I have now uploaded some pictures of the crop circle. had another great flight yesterday from Redlands Airfiled to the circle and back, 40 - 45 mins just seems llike such a short amount of time to spend in the air at the moment but is was still a toptastic flight.
