  1. Speak with Paul smith about sponsorship etc... I doubt there will be public camping again speak with paul.. Best of offering to marshal
  2. Thanks Simon... We had some very challenging weather to deal with but a very good comp all in all. This year we had a few Pilots enter there first comp, everyone of them i talked too would do it again!! Honnest anderson won best new comer with a very respectful 8th place Neil forster entered the discovery group and did really well.. I hope we will see him next time in the Nationals and Open... I would highly recommend these classic comps for All intermediate pilots or pilots with 50+ hours. It would be really nice to see some PMC members at Popham for the world championships in August.. If you have some free time why not marshal and see the worlds top pilots up close..
  3. Yep... I have one... 26m demo available
  4. be careful if he asks you to just pop to his van!!!
  5. Well said simon... There is a growing trend of low airtime pilots being advised by there mates to buy the latest hot ship.. I have personally had customers call up to buy X or Y high end wing with only around 20-30 hours. After turning them down I find out they went and bought the same new wing one from somewhere else!! CRAZY!!!
  6. Yep... will have the Sussex Paramotors bus full...
  7. Barry has always charged for the use of his field.. It's a nice site but fairly restrictive due to the sensitive area (neighbours) and farnborough airspace. Your best bet like all of us if go out and find a local farmer who is willing to let you use his field... Make sure you have an air map and a GPS if you fly in your local shere area as your every close to LGW CTA you also have Dunsofld ATC very close by.

I checked out the wing and have test flown it and it handles great.. A couple of very small dirt stains on the white LE.. Offers around £1950
  12. Best to let people know your budget weight etc.. I have a Bailey Matrix Hornet for sale with 5 hours 07867317307
  13. As new pilot you should stay away from soaring cliffs and flying near water... Unless you have a strong PG back ground..
  14. Go for the stuff that designed for flying... There are other brands out there but you always get what you pay for, buy cheap buy twice.. A local new pilot bought a Helmet with ANR cups, copy of the Icaro helmet. the Ear seals keep falling off and the cups keep detaching from the helmet.. Stick with Icaro or micro avionics as they are quality and have good support if things do go wrong.. My personal choice for gloves vary, Mc Wets for summer, Very thin, great grip, my go to glove for Slalom comps... Summer XC's i use the Gin summer touch tech. and for those colder days the Gin winters... Nirvana hot 5's are great gloves for the winter days..
  15. I would say around the 4lph figure at best... I did have a full RPM verse Fuel burn figures @1000RPM intervals but chucked them ages ago... If your looking for good fuel burn buy something else..
  16. Nigel I am or was 75kg when i had my V5.. Now 69kg due to weight loss for my TTC3000m record attempts.. I was fully maxed out on bar on a 24m speedster.. full rpm and not climbing.. Just make sure you test before buying any circa 22m wing as you may find you run out of power on the V5.. there is no point in having a smaller wing and not be able to maintain on bar..
  17. Fuzzy Forget about buy a "smaller" wing 26m at 75kg is about right for a newbie... What you might like to think about is buying a "better" wing... A good wing with reflex Flying in a wider range of wind conditions means you will need a faster wing! Also as new pilot you need to take it easy and be careful about the conditions you fly in.. If like me you fly near the coast you may get caught out flying in 5/6 knots north then 30m later you can have 20 knots SW Seabreeze kick in. Make sure you fly with an experienced pilot to show you the way..
  18. Don't leave it too long I have Parafest coming up after that a little flying trip around wales and then the UK open...
  19. I run an E props NG_D 1.3m 3 blade.. awesome prop... Can be set for MAX POWER or best Eco.. faster spool up than say a Helix HF40 1.3m as the E props weigh allot less. E props are also FULL carbon unlike helix that just have nice Carbon laminated outer shell..
  20. personally i wouldn't bother with a visor... they steam up in the winter and are easily scratched.. Use a good pair of goggles with changeable lenses..
  21. Wing wise.... That will depend on how experienced you are with your PG flying and where you live.. Mountains can be very unforgiving and most PG pilots i know who live in the mountains tend to go for Lower end wings... It depends what style of flying to want to do... People/pilots/dealers will only recommend the wings they own as theres IS THE BEST!!! Forum folk cant tell you what wing is best as they don't know you or your flying style...
  22. My advice coming from a free flying background as you do... Don't bother with a Moster.. It's noisy, high vibration, and drinks fuel like a ford 427 also suffers from vapour lock and can be a pig to restart in the air.... I know I had one.. Great motor tho very reliable with lots of power Great for Slalom style for pilots under 80kg or just starting out in Slalom If you want a motor for XC flying, Thermalling there are much better units out there, I used to be able to get 1.2h flying Full Speedbar comp flying on my 16m normal burn was about 9.6LPH W.O.T ...My 250 only does 8.1lph full throttle but i dont need W.O.T to maintain level flight on Full bar giving me around the 2hour mark full speed.. The best Eco figure i could tune out of the moster was 4lph my 250 is half that at 2lph... running standard jets and 1.5lph comp tuned and pitch tweeked... Try looking at the Miniplane top 80. Thor 80cc Thor 130...
