  1. I am with Ptwizz... Keep it free... Could you spell out the benefits of paying for your forum? All I know about is a free fly in and being able to post for sale adds. I would happily join if i knew the fly in's were not always the exact time as most of the comps... I know of no other forum you HAVE to pay to post.... Fair enough you now have to be a member to place a for sale add but to post add photos etc Give advice to new pilots... NO WAY!! I used to be a member a few years ago.. I am too far away to fly at membury and could never make the fly ins.. what about foreign pilots who use this site?? What benefits are there for joining?? I belong to the AAOC Ariel Atom owners club... I happily pay £35 for a yearly membership as I get 10% off of servicing and parts I also get discount from X or Y insurance company for being a member... Not having a go...
  2. It's amazing flying down here.... There is no Legal reason why we can not fly in this area... Only two bird reserves, Pagham harbour and Langstone harbour (1000ft asl)
  3. Thank you for posting up that Area map.. I will pass it on to all local pilots...
  4. Hi The 130 45 is for the new carb, rear overflow goes up. Old style overflow goes out straight... I have the old style carb, when i got mine it had a 128 and was on the 3 drop on the needle... this was running in setting and run a little Lumpy mid range... I now have 126/45 2nd drop on the needle... Perfect temps perfect running I wouldn't bother using EGT for the 250 if your going to use Polini baseline figures for EGT readings.. You need to do a plug chop. Max water temp should be 90c...
  5. Hi Is your machine standard? Why do you need to change the factory settings? Is your machine converted to a 250 from a 200? Do you have the New style carb or the older style PWK28..... Make sure you know what carb you have before taking any advice from other owners about jet sizes....
  6. Sub 2lph is the figures ive been told.... I can get 2lph out of my 250 on standard config.. We are doing some testing at the moment for the Up coming worlds plus my time to climb records... Running super lean at low levels so I will be running about right @ 6500-7000ft + I would be happy to come down and fly your 80cc with 2 litres of fuel to see what we can get... If your guy only flew for 45mins your not allowing enough time to cancel out the climb on take off... Plus if your not weighing the fuel its a bit of a Pointless test!! I wonder when the Thor 130-150cc LC will be released??
  7. Hi I am selling a 24m speedster standard Blue white and grey.. Brand new still in the plastic wrapper... This was ordered in for a customer who canceled due to work related injury... It's been sitting around for a while so I am offering it for £1850... Mark 07867317307
  8. I thought the Thor 130 had only 60kg static...
  9. I only have experience with the Thor 250... The all up weight of the 250 vers the 200 is minimal but the power out put is huge.. water cooling is proving to be very reliable and IF like me your after max performance or Min fuel burn these LC engine can be run extremely lean with incredibly High EGT's without any issues as the water cooling is pulling down the temps faster than the heat build up on the cylinder.. I have had some great feedback From Jean Mateos the Owner and designer of the Mac Fly Brand we sell claiming around the same thrust from the 80cc as the 130cc but with better fuel burn... As for complexity Four stroke are way more complex than a 2T with a water pump. Most V5 run for 100's of hours without Issue, I am look forward to getting the Thor 80cc when Jean has put them through all his testing
  10. Hi I am a local pilot to chichester and I also run Sussex Paramotors 07867317307.... This is not one of "our" Local pilots ... I would be interested to see the Video as I cant seem to see any birds in those photos.... The only areas marked on an Air map as a bird reserve is Langstone Harbour and Pagham Harbour. Apart from the obvious dangers flying low over water or mud flats at 50ft it is not Illegal unless they are flying within 500ft or any person or object... Pilots who fly into our local area with an Air map would not know about the Special Protection Areas. TBH there news to me and i've been flying in this area for years.... I found your link hard to follow and found no info on Special Protection Areas??? I'm not very techy My advice if this happens again would be take video and photos and contact the CAA.... If you could provide us with any information on all the local Special Protection Areas that would be great and i would happily pass this on to every local pilot I know....
  11. Hi The best fuel sensor on the market is..... A mirror... We can supply/sell you with a PPG meter Fuel sensor no problem but my advice to people is why bother... http://www.sussexparamotors.co.uk/elect ... _ppg_meter The PPG meter is a Great bit of kit if your after CHT EGT WT, temps rpm monitoring plus allot more... Fly safe Mark
  12. Cruise control is dangerous IMO
  13. Because I am now using My Mac Fly 250 more and more due to the 90kg of thrust for Slalom flying and my Time to climb record attempts.. The Hornet has enough power for most if not all pilots inc Tandem... We can not afford to have loads of demo machines!!!
  14. I have added my Hornet to ebay... If anyone is interested in getting a mint machine... call 07867317307 http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... wauto=true
  15. Speak with Daniel kettle from fly PAP uk
  16. Kit will depend on what you want from your flying... there is no point buying a motor that is either really powerful or burns allot of fuel if you want to go on big XC's Wings will also depend on your back ground. If you Paraglide or sky dive etc IMO there is no point buying a bottom end wing as you will get bored of it very quickly... Take good advice from your instructor and speak with as many local pilots as you can...
  17. Sky wings is 'really' a fee flying Mag... Yes there needs to be more PPG content but it takes pilots to submit the content... If you want a dedicated PPG mag there is always Paramotormag. I know the BHPA are always crying our for short stories articles etc.. Mark
  18. Personally i would stick to the "main" PPG brands.... Ozone, Dudek and Paramania.. you will find all those wings you posted about Very slow after a few hours, and will want to upgrade...
  19. Plus it's hard enough to get all the ground crew organised and at the location only to find the land owner kits us off before we take off!!!
  20. Hi I am looking for a take off site around in the south somerset north dorset area for a few Record attempts... If anyone is willing to let me/us use there site? Thanks Mark

  22. I have a remote carb adjustment system on my Hornet but the Mac Fly 250 would have to be adjusted Via jetting prior to launch. But i am working on something for inflight.. Also prop pitch would need to be worked out/tested for the real high altitude flights..
  23. Ramon Morilas Holds the Max Altitude record @ 24,895ft the BG record has never been proven and was never submitted.. Still an Amazing feet!!! The time to climb records and Max Altitude records do have Different rules, The Max altitude records can be flown from any height.. I think Ramon took off from Hushe's Valey (Pakistan) at around 14,000ft The UK record set by Giles Fowler from the RAF team on the Bailey Matrix Hornet did 18,305ft from sea level!! Personally I think this is much harder to do and this is the way I Plan to do it too!! sea level too XX,000ft
