  1. Wow, I hope i am still walking at that age but put my macro on his back and he might not be
  2. Simon, Thanks for that and yes a lesson is learnt regarding purchases the dealer the wing came from will not be used again. On a lighter note due to your generosity i will sign myself and my son on a "No burning Plastic rehab course" and let you know the outcome Aquatix we also looked at those finger throttles how are you getting on with yours and have you used them with big bulky gloves like the Gin winter alpines?. We arrived on the Wednesday and stayed until Sunday afternoon so the stores in the show where not that busy at first although the weather did deteriorate but four visits to Paramania's stand only to be told sorry. They need to take lesson's from Parajet's customer service Jim could sort them out in no time and of coarse Simon's excellent attitude cheers Alan.
  3. Hello chaps I have read all these comments with great interest as I have a Fusion wing and found that my trimmers slip when you adjust them. If you pull the buckle backwards it will stop it slipping, anyway this happened well within the warranty period so i contacted the agent i bought it from which was Mid Wales Paragliding with no success. A month ago I was at the coupe festival in France and who was there Paramania And Pascal so i mentioned this to him and was told they had some upgrades and to come back tomorrow which I duly did only to be told he had left them in the van can you come back later, I did guess what yes he had forgot them my mate even spent 180 euros with him and that did not jog his memory. Now his van could not have been that far away so either he could not have been that bothered or he was so busy, none of them looked run of their feet so I got the feeling it was the former. I am a self employed builder and the satisfaction of my customers is the priority to me obviously not Paramania's. So anyone asking what i think of the company will get the truth ( RUBBISH AFTERSALES) The comment regarding the van was made because i made 4 trips to Paramanias stand at about 1.5 miles a go and paid to get into the event Alan. ( dissatisfied customer )
  4. Hello tandrews, I was flying in full slow and ready to let the trimmers out should the wind speed pick but at that speed it did not happen. I think Paul will be right about the lighter wind days when a full paragliding wing will out perform the fusion but I did not want to buy two wings. The fact I live right on the coast so cliff soaring is readily available to me makes having the fusion a bonus as on the days it is blown out for paramotoring i can pop along to the beach (wind direction permitting). I bet you have to wrap up warm over there our winters will be like spring to you cheers Alan.
  5. Its Hull fair this week Mike and those pictures remind me of candy floss yummy.
  6. At last I had the pleasure of freeflying my Fusion wing at my local cliffs on Sunday and i must say it performed admirably. I managed to get about 3.5 hours soarring off Mappleton in east Yorkshire on a stretch of beach that is 10 miles long there were 3 other pilots there all flying paragliding wings and the Fusion maintained the same height as the others but did seem to fly faster. The wind speed was around 14 to 16 mph and the weather was glorious, I fly my 29 slightly on the heavy side at around 120kg anybody thinking of freeflying there Fusion wings and in doubt i would give it a big thumbs up cheers Alan.
  7. Hello Lee, Check the trimmers are in take off mode as this would affect your climb rate.
  8. Hello Pete, Yes it is possible to do that trip but it would depend on the fuel consumption of your machine and tank size wind direction and wing type to do the distance in one shot. I have made a few 50 plus mile trips on my paramotor but on one of them we had to land out in a farmers field and re fuel. I carry a container with oil in a side pocket on my machine so you just need to find a convenient fuel station where you can land near, cheers Alan.
  9. Cheers Norris I too enjoyed meeting you all so heres to the next one checked out the video, nice one I saw were i went wrong it was "Taking off" in those conditions but Pete did say even when its calm round here it can bite you cheers Alan.
  10. ps had an invite to fly with them northern pilots around by the Humber Bridge sound great. Many thanks to you all. geoffw Cheers Geoff stay in touch and i will let you know when a suitable weekend is coming up for the bridge and beach flying many thanks Alan.
  11. Hello, As long as the weather holds up i was going to come, setting off on Friday just googled the distance and it is 223 miles so fingers crossed for the weather to hold although i have noticed it has increased in wind strength.
  12. Cheers chaps i will contact them do you need to send them off or can you fit them yourself Simon?
  13. A while ago they was a mention of a new riser set up for this wing has anyone heard if it is out yet cheers Alan.
  14. I agree i had the synthesis 34 before i bought the fusion and the Dudek risers are far better quality. My fusion has not done 80 hours yet and the markings have worn off and my left hand riser slips through the clamp, there was talk of an upgrade riser system has anyone heard anything yet cheers Alan.
  15. Hello Simon, We have been flying and camping at the Hull aero club all weekend what a shame we did not know, where did you go in Hull? was it the clipper race please let me know in future and you would be more than welcome to fly from our club and try some coastal flying as the airfield is only 6 miles from the sea. A few of us are hopefully coming to your next fly in so see you there.
  16. Poz great to hear you are are ok, me and the wife have just read that post, very funny, maybe a hidden talent for comedy writing we certainly need some after England's performances in the world cup chin up shoulders straight ha ha cheers Alan. Fanman re-read the post i think what Simon was saying was if a student actually lands on his arse when flying ie inexperienced or freezing or whatever, as we are all not perfect like you but then again you could just pull another one of your six paramotors out and have another go As Parajets biggest critic you obviously have a big chip on your extremely experienced shoulder why?
  17. I went there last week and saw the helicopter very impressive.
  18. Now than Bandit there are a few of us who fly from Hull so if you want to come along let me know cheers Alan.
  19. Hi Fanman, I have only owned a Parajet as well but we do have five other types of paramotor were we fly from and one of the makes i would not touch with a barge pole. There are two of them and one is fine the other is temperamental to say the least. A lot of people fly the smaller one on here but its the larger one that is problematic. I will say Pap paramotors are also spot on as we have a few of these at the club the only negative i would say about my Parajet is its weight when you land in farmers fields and have to find fuel to top up thats where the Paps excel, walking around with a top 80 is heaven compared with my Macro. But for reliability power and build quality i can not knock my Parajet cheers Alan.
  20. I am with macey2kk on this i bought a Parajet because they are English and the excellent back up service. My main problem is me and flying when i should not thus breaking things so Parajet's now legendary bend over back up service suits me. I was at the factory this week and they had a lot of rotron's on the go and also a new paramotor that will be going on sale soon featuring a pollini thor engine looked great and very light. Dave if we ever meet up i would love to fly a flat top they must be one of the best as nobody has a bad word to say about them and i can only presume fanman as had a bad experience with a Parajet but i would not think for one minute they would have left you in the lurch?. That part in question was reported in the BHPA skywings as failing about six months ago so they would definitely be aware of it hope they send a modified one back to you Duncan cheers Alan.
  21. Spot on Gary i went paragliding today but it was too light at Bridlington and blown out at Filey, amazingly there is only about 15 miles between them. Now get to bed because you dont want to be tierd for Englands match tomorrow LOL , and thanks for the replys regarding the motor this was very appreciated, cheers Alan.
  22. I must admit i just stick it in full reflex and get to the coast and slow it down whilst getting that smooth coastal air. The other week me and a friend flew 30 miles down the beach and landed in a farmers field at Flamborough Head were we re fuelled at the local fuel station than made the return leg, on the way back i ran out of fuel about 3 miles short of the airfield but i had climbed to a height of 3500 feet and glided the rest of the way to the airfield were we fly from. Now i was pushing a head wind of about 4 miles per hour and i decided to put my trimmers to full slow and luckily i made it to the run way radioed a dead stick landing and landed, later in the clubhouse i was speaking to the microlight instructor and he advised me that to have got the furthest in that situation i should have gone for maximum speed into the wind but the way i saw it at the time was maximum glide so next time i run out of fuel into wind i will try his theory cheers Alan.
