  1. Hi Alan, I too have the same issue, being a little short of leg. But I think I may have solved the problem (not tested yet... poorly prop, cage, wing and all that ) Bit hard to explain so bear with me... when using the speed bar I found myself being pushed further back into the seat, and hard against the frame. Effectivly pushing the whole seat forward, and taking up a lot of slack that a larger sized bum would normaly accomodate. On looking behind one of the many zips, I`ve found an internal strap that links the rear of the harness to the seat board. and lo and behold its adjustable. So the theory is.. If i take out 4 inches of slack behind the speed bar pulley (high hang point middle of the seat), I will gain it in front and theroreticly get at least the extra 2 inches of travel needed for full speed ahead. All without the need to wear platform boots, booster socks, or a huge arse implant. Simples So I`ve just got to try it now Colin B (2)
  2. I love shit calls gives me someone to talk too.... bring em on mother in law arriving tommorow...3 weeks of hell!
  3. This has got to be a wind up! 1. I would report low flying to nearest authority eg . Civil/military airport or direct to the CAA 2. If I am threatened with any form of firearm, for any reason, I would go phone the police. Armed Fast response is just that! 3. launching any form of ground based missile with the intent to bring down any aircraft is a tiny bit illegal...And it would be Murder not man-slaughter.. having just posted your intentions on this forum. Cant even think of another reason for setting off fireworks during daylight hours. Not a fan of this fantastic sport then Bender?
  4. Can I be the first to volunteer as a test pilot? I`ve got my lightweight, air portable, telescopic shitty stick. Ready to beat off the hordes of adoring young Lady's Colin B2 (RAF (potential slow jet pilot!!!))
  5. I`m In the market for a couple of cheep propellers Tried TP props in thailand with no reply so far. do you have a website for this Teeserak? Colin B
  6. Ok... I`ll have one or two Must remember not to put it in the tool box, next to the brake part cleaner though Do you have a supplier simon? Colin B 2

    JUNE Fly-in.

Simon. Any chance of getting some name badges made up. Or I`ll be calling everyone either `Dave` or `Simon` all weekend
  8. I use Isopon P38 easy sand and moisture setting wood glue. ensure the wood is stable ie: glued together and dammaged edges removed. build up thin layers of the filler to a rough shape. Then use a rasp to shape. more filler for the low spots. more rasping. then sand to finish...simples oh yeah...then lots of varnishing and balancing Colin B (2 RAF)
  9. Not me guv`.. I went to pick it up, but it would not fit in my waggon without folding it in half. So its in Simon 3 or 4`s big red pikey mobile
  10. And me! My beautiful loving missus just said I could
  11. Hi Pete.. Hope your recovering well, Sorry I missed the firework display I have a small automatic v6 shogun that you can borrow if you get desperate. pm for details Colin B 2
  12. Ace Vid Dude I found the bit between 5.13 and 6.09 most intersting ... did you notice the rapid dab of brakes before I went over your head? I was actualy more worried about the tree behind you You realise your going to have to keep filming all year now, for the next instalment.

    JUNE Fly-in.

I can bring my ironing and a washing up bowl
  14. Im 36! and Sally James (Tiswas) was my first Thought Then Jenny Powell (no limits) came a close second, and she still would!
  15. Where is our old friend "welder" when you need him? I made a garden gate out of old alli tube and "easy weld" many moons ago. using an old parafin blow torch and a jig made out of a pallet. 20 years later all the joins are still good But I would not use it on any load bearing areas..or engine mounts the line between getting a good joint and melting the subject parts is a fine one, Best to leave it to a propper TIG welder who knows the score..
  16. I just had a little fly from the flagpole.. wind dropped to 6mph avg at 1930... nice and smooth. Got my mate craig to take some picks of me taking off and landing...good job i just made it over the rape field See you guys in the morning Colin B
  17. Cant argue with bathboy, An interesting tool I came across while tuning the pink thruster.. http://personal.osi.hu/fuzesisz/strc_eng/index.htm It dont account for pusher props.(is there any difference?) And you have to divide the revs by to take account of the reduction gear..Ie 4-1 But you can play with the figures till your hearts content.... I found the temperature settings explain a lot in the vast change of thrust, between cold morning and warm evening flights. A good tool for figuring out the best prop for the power output of your engine Colin B (2) (RAF)
  18. It wants to be good Pete.. For the Pink thruster is thrusting again So looking at an early start for a bit of air testing, ground tests this afternoon were all good (not according to the neighbours) and she runs sweet as a nut ....Will be nice to get in the air again...Two weeks on the ground feels like Months! See ya in the morning
  19. Indeed a Big up to parajet! And thats not me taking sides.... Love the look And the power, just cant carry the weight ...I fly a Backbone....But at the same time, Big ups to Thierry simonet at Backbone for sorting me a complete engine unit. Not free, but cheaper than the missus thinks! (Cheers, if you read this site) The pink thruster will live again!
  20. Love to join you but I`m working However if you get up early enough you should see a hot air baloon taking off from my village
  21. Nice picks Dan, I got some lovely pics the other day over the farm ...boots and everything! and on speed bar! soon as this site makes it easy i`ll download them....till then I`m grounded The pink thruster will live again!
  22. Post mortem confirms "its f**ked" Not as originaly thought a hole in the piston, more like the piston and con-rod have seperated company with the crank..(that will explain the lack of compression ) looks like a bearing failed at some point, which in turn let the con-rod hit the crank, which then exploded the big end and then bits of metal flew everywhere inside... So at least I had the mixture right So now I need a new/better condition Crank, con-rod, piston, barrel...New engine really! looks like im grounded for a while Any help would be most welcome
  23. lots of washing up and cutting the grass by the sounds of it landing out was text book spot stuff. (just not the spot i was looking at).. in the field just below the disabled car park...soon as the engine died I put in the trimmers and circled down, there was a bloke flying a kite nearby so wind direction was sorted...and fortunatly not to many sheep/ramblers to avoid. Then a very nice man came and picked me up in his landrover and gave me a much needed beer. Cheers Simon
