  1. It is my sad duty to inform the community of the untimely (but highly likely) demise, of my much trusted and loyal Vittorazi engine. She has faired well from a promising start, through much neglect, and in her later life a hell of a lot of abuse... Aparently far to much for a 12 year old to handle . At aproximatly 1400ft agl 1800hrs today, after a relaxing meander over the white horse, to meet a well known QFI a condition known as "too F**king lean" has torn apart the fragile alloy that was once the heart of my little pink thruster.. . I am deeply upset..Nay I`m gutted....A post mortem has yet to be performed however as a two stroke know a bit, (I do own a bag of spanners) the dammage is terminal.... So assuming I need a new piston and Barrel. (are they nicossil coated?) and knowing they are considered slightly out of date, with spares off the shelf in my wildest dreams. Has anyone got any bits? Or information relating to the original moped that the parts were borrowed from? I beg of you to look into the bottom of your heart. Failing that, the darkest corners of your shed, garrage, kitchen sink, etc, etc. And with a little help, grovlling, love that dare not speak its name (if i have too )and some spannering. Together we can put back together my little pink thruster..Please Please help, you know you cant resist a sob story Colin B (spigot)

  4. On the verge of pointing out the obvious...its looking a bit good for a spot of aviation in the morning, So I`m going up the flagpole...Anyone else coming out to play? I should be there by 9/10ish...depending on how much earache I get from the princess It`ll never be as good as last sunday. which was fantastic by the way, but you never know? Colin B

  11. OK, not quite great but still very rewarding... I only just managed to get up the hill myself due to the snow drifts across the track, about 2 feet in places. Spent the morning and the early afternoon faffing about, trying and failing to forward lanch into the 1 mph but constantly changing wind direction..obviously a lot of fag and coffee breaks inbetween. Then while fixing the flag onto the top of the pole again (i was bored ) and checking out the tip dammage to my prop (It fell over while warming up on tickover ) the wind picked up to 4.5 for just long enough kite the wing, put on my lid, strap in, get the wing over my head again, turn, give it some beans......and then....and then the motor got pulled off my back cos I forgot to do up the top strap! And then the wind dies again! Couple more fags and the last of the coffee. By this time its 3pm, Time to Man up. Set out the wing for the last time whatever happens....Motor on, strap in (all of em), two steps back, and run...and run a bit more.. and a bit more. finally airbourne Had a fantastic flight and a proper play. got some height and threw the wing around a bit, buzzed over to the white horse, took some pics..Threw it around a litle more..headed back low level, taking nice tight turns over the tree tops. circled the flagpole, got some height, killed the engine, few more tight turns and a perfect landing. Was only up for 35 mins. my hands were frozen, eyes sore, nose contents drained, my back killing me (dont like running) but still a flight that more than made up for the wasted hours on the deck So yeah... had a great day Colin B
  12. Dont know how, but I have been granted a leave pass to go flying tomorow. I hope to get up to the flag pole around 10ish. If anyone wants to join but cant get up the hill due to the possible mud bath, Give me a call and I will come down In the 4x4 and pick up from the road. Colin B 07789 770741
  13. Just prove my manlyness .. . Clear sunny skys and a steady 8 mph wind on the ground. What a beautifull flight, All very wintery, snowy, postcard type scenery.. Only had one circuit of my village in the 40 mins I was up, As I spent a lot of time just hovering. But well worth the numb fingers and snotty nose. Shame I forgot to tie my camera to the harness or I would have taken some awsome pics .. Bugger Has anyone else been flying recently?
  14. Looks like some nice weather for flying related antics. I will be heading up to the flag pole about 10 ish. Anyone else going to skive the day off work?

  19. Another biker here.. Had a fair few over the years. Mostly Kawasaki ..Last one a ZZR 1100, but not as much fun as my original zx10, 170mph down a well known 2 mile strip of tarmac in oxfordshire...Took it on a track day once and left many, if not all the newer missiles for dust. till I had to brake for the corners and they all passed me again Given it all up now for a far safer sport.
