  1. errr... excuse my ignorance here... but wtf's a cobra launch! anyone got a demo vid? personally seeing as i have a synth 34...il stick to 10mph and under...otherwise il be with the 747's!
  2. gosh... his balls must be as big as his balloons!! lol
  3. personally im a face planter rather than an arse scraper on my landings...as you can see on my video in the videos section! for those of you who thought i was religious and kissing the ground when i landed...im not!...not enough flare and my legs couldnt keep up with the groundspeed! oops!
  4. thanks man... im a bit gutted, as i uploaded it with the cult "sanctuary"...but killjoytube mutted my soundtrack so i had to put on of theirs on......shame really...wonder if theres a way around that one!!
  5. finally coughed up my hard earned and went for it!! my first attempt at using it resulted in this!.... forgetting to turn it on for the take off, and landing on my face!!....still...was a good little flight after waiting from 2pm til 8pm for the wind to drop.. i still cant seem to keep my head still enough though!!...anyone got any good mounting place tips for me? [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]
  6. surely as the land is council owned...that overrides the numb nut ranger?? good luck tho bud...
  7. i got a better way of putting it.... listen woman...if you like this roof over your head, you like spending my hard earned wages...you like being chauffered around by me...you better shut up and put up..did i grill you for the last handbag YOU bought!! i forewarn you though......after saying this, you better put that shiny new paramoter helmet on and retreat to a safe distance!!
  8. what a lovely looking parajet bud.. did you add the safety netting yourself?..if so, how so? cheers..and good luck with the sale..
  9. Cor you had a fizzer, you lucky bugger. I had to make do with an old Honda C70 step thru that I bought for £7, but I always longed for a Fizzer lol....yes...i was privileged!!..however...i did have a bog seat first!!. a boggy 90!! -- the exhaust was that rotten i put a block of wood in the end with a hole in to give the back pressure!! ahhhhhh them weres the days!!
  10. in the old days when i had a fizzer...we used to put a couple of drops of cooking oil in with the fuel....it really did smell like a chip shop riding past!!.. might try it on my macro!!
  11. at our field we all use sthil 2 stroke...and my parajet actually came with a shot from new.. they come in handy sized 100mm "shots" so easy to mix with new fuel. none of us have had any problems and when you think about it...chainsaws and sthilsaws dont half get some abuse....and i know the problems we have with our stihlsaws are broken cords!!
  12. il keep my eyes on that bud...cheers
  13. how much are they vince? oh...bet you did that website on a mac!
  14. dan, thanks for the very informative post....and thanks for taking the time to write that..and explain it in english!! thanks too to you fanman... wouldnt it be greay if there was a site that you could put your postcode in, and get a "looking flyable" or a "go do some decorating" forecast for the next few days!! but then we'd never learn anything i suppose! thanks again
  15. what do you guys use to keep an eye on the weather.. i use met office ballon forecasts on the day that its looking good..on the basis that if the balloons up...im up! but apart from the met office, are there any other useful sources of 5 day forecasts that you find accurate and useable??
  16. ah,, apparently its on the list of updates for the future..when thats done it will be a perfect app i think.
  17. but i dont think you can use that point as a "goto" mark...ie..plot a mark and then follow the arrow for directions?
  18. the only downside i see to mem map on the iphone is that you cannot set "goto waypoint or mark" like you can on the roadangel or mem map on a pda... or am i missing something?? its always usefull if you lose the T/o field!
  19. go for it bud.... think "fashion" more so than "im in a club" and i think youl be on the right track... look forward to seeing your evil ideas!!
  20. hi tony... i suffered for ages from the "getting in the seat problem"...im a big lad at 18st..and it completely ruined many flights for me...it was onlt this year that i finally got it nailed.. i have now just fitted a supair harness from parajet and am yet to fly...the supair has a big bum plate for a bit of extra comfort for me. but prior to now...my "Technique" if you want to call it that was thus. I have shoulder straps completely max extended. slacken the seat "flap" with the 2 side adjusters completely off.. tighten leg straps tightly just above the knee...that way they downt slip down whilst running. once airborne i would tuck the seat flap out and push down on the adjusters to bring my knees up higher and forcing my bum in the seat a bit more... then slacken off my knee straps and relax!. then for landing....i would make sure my leg straps are still loose...drop the flap adjusters loose again, and you quite nicely are able to drop out into the vertical position.. i also find that landing in the running position..ie. one foot well in front of the other helped with running speed off...i was quillty of landing with both feet together and then starting to run...which never worked!! hope this helps...
  21. me too!!!...very interested pete...if you do come up with something....and im pretty sure that the logistics of design would mean that you would do this anyway.... but think about including some sort of spacing backplate to fit on the reduction drive...this would move the prop away from the starter and exhaust a bit and save some people using those rubber mounty things. ( technical term ) keep us posted!
  22. matt.... you must carry your balls round in a wheelbarrow they must be so big!!.. great vid bud..and perfect landing on the ski vid!
  23. if your macro has the 3 blade prop...perhaps consider changing to a 2 blade...you should slide that in alot better without removing the prop, then only have to remove the cage.. you would need a different reduction drive tho....still cheaper than a trailer.
  24. hi rob... theres no doubt that the t shirts are right money... but can i make a suggestion...and this of course is a personal opinion... i think a t shirt design for this sport but of a contemporary nature would be great...something that you dont just wear whilst flying...but that you can wear when you go out on a weekend..but dont wanna look like a nerd. im no designer...but i am a buyer...and would love to see some good modern designs..and would definatly pay for them the wing and chair t shirts are getting there...but for me, the actual paramotor and wing needs ""revision"" personally id like to see a shirt entitled "wing of fury" and it would have a skulled skeleton flying a supercharged motor with a wing looking like it was rising from hell!.. hey...i got toooooo vivid an imagination but zero design skill! come on graphic designers.....someone make the next "paul smith" of paramotor apparel!!
