  1. hmmmmm.... tried a nil wind launch tonight...humid conditions too... ended up on my face!! lol no harm done other than a dent in my pride!! never again until i have bionic legs!!
  2. thanks simon, scottish.... as its the ex demo machine and having done 12 hours i kinda hoped it would be run in now...i suppose time will tell, il just make sure i keep that lipo fully charged before flight!! other than that.....what a machine!.. @ scottish.. how do find the fuel economy?
  3. this may be in the wrong section....but i never did a training blog..just recorded loads of vids on youtube ( macey2kk ) but anyway...today was the day for the cyclone to get airborne... apart from pulling my back putting it into the car ( not due to the weight, more so because of the rad on top makes it harder to fit in standing up ) il up the video after ive edited it..but for il say WHAT A MACHINE!!!! i was rather nervous about the extra power, but to be honest - as scottishmotorman said the spring in the throttle was enough to control the power on launch and i was airborne alot quicker than normal!!. i will say the machine seems very responsive and has a great smooth power curve.....a little squeeze goes a long way! the flight itself was great...cruising at level flight with trimmers out on around 1/4 throttle ( dudek synth 34 ) climbing very well when giving it some gas, although i admit i didnt really go much past 1/2 throttle..i didnt need to either. as for fuel economy..on one flight i cant tell.....but my bud flies a macro with a apco thrust HP...we did the same flight and reckon there wasnt a huge difference in fuel burn between the two....but il report more on this as i fly more. one thing i noticed most of all was the vibration -- or lack of.....all my fillings are still in place although i was freezing at 3000ft!. my gripe....which isnt a gripe really......was that it didnt like running on tickover in the air........on the 2 occasions i throttled off it cut out....the first time it restarted after a couple of presses....the second was on my landing approach, but i had a good glide and approach so i left it be and landed out albeit not as close to my car as i would have liked. ( im sure with a little tweaking it will be fine ) (( be interested in scottishmotormans comment on this )) after landing i started it up and ran up the hill back to the car -- yes its heavier than my previous macro but it wasnt a problem whatsoever. so in all......a very happy cyclone owner!!!

    memory map

anyone got the latest airspace map for mem map?...or point me in the right direction...or confirm the date of the latest one available?..for all i know i may have the latest one! lol fanks
  5. put your mouth round a glass milk bottle and see how much you can drink without letting air in! lol but in short yes....as the fuel comes out it needs to replace its volume with air, otherwise a vacuum occurs.
  6. well ive had the apco and the sup air, and for me, cos i have a big belly i fing the supair so much more comfortable and easier to get in...the leg straps are different too and dont end up falling over you knees when running. you will prob find, as i do that any harness is hard to fasten the belly strap whilst sitting down, but as soon as you stand up its very loose...so not a problem. a hang test will prove invaluable for you bud.
  7. just for your info....the cap that they sell on their website which i presume fits the tank.. is a vented cap....same as the parajet one by the looks of it.. http://www.kkckartshop.co.uk/pc/CAP-FOR-PETROL-TANK-NEW-TYPE--214-10p491.htm but the orange vent would look soooooooooo much better!! lol
  8. hmmm, im not sure....id be surprised if they were....you takes your chances i suppose.
  9. you are welcome mark, hope you enjoy the sport....i certainly do. well, theres a 160 that had my name on it!!...may be going spare!! ....all parajet macro's should have a big brother to keep them company!! lol get one bought!
  10. i would say so yes....its a one way valve...i have one on my tm300 enduro. or replace the cap with the whole thing for some bling! good luck!
  11. you need something like this.... look the part too!! lol http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PULSE-RACING-CAP-VENT-HONDA-CR500-1990-2000-COLOUR-RED-/270617506583?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts#ht_1090wt_913 you can just buy the vent part too...ebay vent caps
  12. well my reserve is front mounted so no prob there... and nice one psymon on your flight...i reckon quarter throttle should do it for me...as we are similar weights and my wing is a synth 34.. just need some sodding sunshine and less wind now!....great british weather...not!
  13. i couldnt remember who it was that had one, now i remember its your good self... have you fitted any kind of restrictor to the throttle anywhere or are you just using a finger behind or something to limit the travel?... how do you find it when airborne?..have u ever used full throttle or do you find it puts you close to a stall?.. do you have any tips for avoiding stall?...if im honest thats my main concern when in flight...i use a synthesis 34....and on reflex trim it does sink alot so i suppose it may not be as easy as im worrying about....but i dont think id like to hit it full on slow trim!! thanks for the reply...and you simon...i hope mark is getting on well with my old macro now!
  14. well, after much ear bending, pleading, and impatience on my behalf ive finally been and picked up my rotron today....and now im the proud owner of a 294 rotron monster!!!. im a little aprehensive of the power as ive not really experienced torque effect, so steady on the throttle for a while!. id be interested in any comments / advice from 294 owners ( are there any over here ) on handling the extra power and take of techniques etc if any different from the norm. but other than that im looking forward to a more economical and smoother flight than the teeth chattering 2 smoke! roll on the flying weather! --- loop the loop being quite apt if i dont steady that throttle lol
  15. for me... it would be a parajet rotron and a dudek synthesis wing....you wouldnt grow out of that combo for years. good luck .
  16. bloody hell!!!! that has gotta hurt!!!... well got an email this morning, its available first week in september, but at nearly 1500 euros, its a bit above my budget at present -- her indoors would slit my throat in my sleep!
  17. banned....if you are correct, i wonder why.... maybe the lack of manual deployment.... oh well ive emailed them and see what they say....they look nice and compact and easy to use... thanks for the reply gordon
  18. has anyone seen, own, or tried one of these?...or know anyone that has? or know where to buy one? thanks!
  19. macro now on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300454119209&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT#ht_776wt_1139 a bargain!!
  20. sorry bud...sold it to a guy on here a few weeks ago good luck!
  21. cant speak for the pap... but with a parajet, its definitely a reduction drive change when you go from a 2 blade to a 3 blade..or vice versa.
  22. come on down bud.... its ready next week sometime....so hope to have it for the weekend!! yippppeeeeee!!!!
  23. have popped it on here before it goes on ebay, new price 4650, and thats before you add on the tiny tach, custom cage, and brand new supair harness that cost me 200 quid.. i also have spare props, reduction drives etc but thats by separate negotiation. an absolute great machine and excellent backup by a uk manufacturer...but then im biased as i have a rotron on order!!. thanks for looking!
