  3. hello all.. i bought my parajet macro around 18 months ish ago...and in that time since have only clocked up around 7 hrs. there were 3 main reasons that i bought parajet.. 1) i thought they were the best looking -- and not knowing much else about paramotors at the time this was kinda high priority --- yes a bit vain i know...but if you are gonna "be" cool, you gotta look the part too! 2) a friend had one..and raved about the good aftercare 3) i wanted to buy british, and i wanted a company in this country that could get me spares in case of the inevitable beginners accidents...which i may add did occur..2 props, 1 frame. The other week i had a little problem with my Parajet when the exhaust mounting bracket snapped i think due to micro vibration, sending it into the prop and obviously doing some damage. I rang Jim at Parajet last friday who was very helpful, sympathetic to my problem and invited me to send it into the factory for free of charge repair. I hadnt been to the factory before...and being the impatient type i arranged with jim to take it down today and the repairs would be carried out whilst we wait. After a 3 hr drive down at starting at 5am we arrived and were welcomed in by one of the lads. In short..what happened after that was above and beyond what could reasonably be expected from a company in terms of after care. Should parajet have wished, they could have sorted me out a new exhaust, and prop and id have been on my way still quite happy. but no....as my machine was purchased 18 months ago certain things have been modified / changed for the good of the product and all of these updated parts were fitted to my machine. i also purchased a new supair harness which was kindly fitted FOC. after the parts were fitted my machine was cleaned, thrust tested ( 65kg ) carb setup and hang tested with me in it i have to extend a personal THANK YOU to Daniel at Parajet who worked from around 9am till 2.30pm solid on my machine without a single tea break or lunch break and as ive prevously stated went above and beyond...with every removed nut and bolt replaced with new. and the cost of all this...including a brand new prop......ZERO... there are some of you that may say - that should be expected on a low hour machine..and yes its a fair comment...but after all it is 18 months old and out of the parajet 12month warranty. and furthermore you just dont get service like that very often.. so...thank you parajet.. Jim, Gilo and special thanks to Daniel.
  4. i cant really backup what im saying here... but i do feel more comfortable with the prop mounted directly to the reduction drive...i have concerns - probably unfounded about these mounts.... if the bolt went straight thru, then yes.. but i just worry about the steel coming off the rubber...and ... well you can imagine what could happen... does anyone care to comment on this??,,,if only to put me at ease!!!
  5. doubt he is married with the amount of time and money he spends on toys!!!.. if so, do you want to swap her for mine...one paramotorist owner, 39k, 2 kids..and on the plus side, she doesnt read forums!!! lol
  6. Im sure you have to do it in your own words or the will not count it ! really... i meant in a petition format.... but if thats the case fair enough.. i just thik there may be plenty of people wanting to protect the sport that dont quite know enough to embrace some of the statements and answer in a professional manner.. i see it with the TRF and off road riding.. was just a thought..
  7. for those of us, whos heads this slightly skirts over ( me included in part ) but understand the need to be outspoken.. does anyone thing that a petition - (digitally signed by forum members) by this forum would be a good idea? similar to the ones at nr 10 online. just a thought.
  8. sorry bud!.. likewise...on the busy day thing -- just worked a 9 hr shift on a sunday!.. boooo!! rivet counter not heard that before!... cool - innit!! lol
  9. oh come on coggie... it is in the off topic...and besides being so far off topic that gravity is failing... it does bring a smile.. this isnt a trainspotters forum after all.....
  10. hmm i can see how that was read!!!!
  11. would have to modify it to run on pee!!!... carry 30 litres and drink 10 before you take off!!
  12. hi bud,,, i did a paragliding course before motoring... to see if i liked it or not, and would recommend as a good way into the sport, after all, thats where it started.. 1, you dont need any of your own kit. 2, you will learn valuable lessons early doors on handling a wing 3, you will soon see whether you fancy 2000ft dangling under a big bed sheet and a few bits of string!! with just birds for company! i used mark dan at beyond extreme in shropshire... but not sure if thats close enough to you really..however i would very highly recommend him good luck!!
  13. tail rotor is for turning only, the way that blades are powered means no torque effect.. i could see 3 of these bolting onto my macro prop and water in the fuel tank...now theres a weight reduction.... and a serious thought!
  14. +1 on the synth... i have a parajet macro, am 18stone in my birthday suit! gets me up no problem..and down quite ( if not always too gracefull ) nicely too!

im surprised simon, with your weaving skills, that you havent made a carbon frame yet??... is this something you would consider???.. i heard about a carbon composite product that offered humungous strength...id be interested in one if you did... anything to chop a few kilos off my macro! lol
  19. there is a lot of fuss about ebay at the moment... but its only fair to point out that ebay makes it quite clear about how to pay for items, bid on items and to always respond to questions through the ebay system. - paying by paypal via your credit card will also give you double safeguard - not only with paypal, but with your own card issuer too. the system is there to safeguard both parties.. so follow the rules, take the advice thats readily available and you will mitigate the chances of being stitched... personally ive been an ebayer for years and never had a problem - many items being thousands in value..i just paid 2k for a bike last week without hitch. as with anything of great value, and secondhand, you should wish to view the item first anyway, and if they wont allow it, then walk away regardless of whether it may be genuine or not, after all, if the seller is honest good to deal with they wouldnt mind anyway. yes i do feel for the guy that got ripped off and im not being dismissive as i had exactly the same reply from a seller once on a motorbike i wanted - which was so good a deal it couldnt be missed... what made me suspicious is that they sent an email saying the goods would be despatched from the ebay clearing warehouse... well we all know that ebay doesnt have a clearing house ( or do we ? )..plus the guys spelling was horrendous, and not exactly english in its tone if you get my drift.. be vigilant, and remember, deals that are too good to be true usually are, and if they are not -- someone else will probably have got there fisrt!!.. happy bidding.........
  20. simon,,, what do you do exactly....as being a forum it generates its own content updates, therefore gaining rank... do you submit to directories?...come on, share the goodness!!! http://www.mace-construction.co.uk http://www.xtrend.co.uk he he... just generating some linkys!!!!
  21. errrrr.... that doesnt look good!!
  22. id say a good idea simon, as long as its constructive, maybe each school given marks out of 10 in respect of: communication from instructor patience!!! kit quality price etc etc... could even be calculated to give a average school score./ league table.. note the average ( updated bi-monthly say ) to allow for those that you just cannot please... as im sure even in this sport where we are all so nice and friendly, you get the occasional muppet!! after all, new students spend alot of money getting into this sport, and ( as i was ) can be as "green as grass" when it comes to taking advice / costs of kit and training etc.., lucky for me ... ahem.... it was Gilo that relieved me of my hard earned! thumbs up from me..
  23. nice website ben, well written for SEO i see if you get close to unlocking the "google SEO conundrum" please share it -- i need some tips!!
