  1. mike, iv ehad the ducatis, 749, 999 and 1098 -- sold em ive done the greenlaning, wor days, red days -ktm 530exc-r --- sold it yesterday... got the paramotor..parajet macro, dudek synth 34.... NOT FOR SALE! dont hesitate bud, go for the motor, it was useful experience for me to have hill lessons, but as a previous post says.. driving around looking for a sub 5mph wind all week can sometimes get tedious. sell a bike and get airborne!. but .... get correct tuition and listen to as much advice as you can without going doolally... every bit counts. good luck!
  2. malc, can u pm me the info on that one as my bud is now interested in one hes only interested if it sin the same price bracket tho. cheers
  3. errrrr.... my head hurts! mind you meds... not as much as your wallet is hurting!!!
  4. ah i see, it seems i was looking for something that isnt there, i understand now.. i assume then that its always a matter of ascertaing the exact level via an os map, or gps, dialing it in and away you go. thanks for the help gents
  5. i understand A1 is the alt above sea... but how come i can change it just by pressing the arrows?, should it not be absolute?? after all, if i can change it, whats the point as i can change A2 to read the same? or am i sounding thick!!!
  6. sure, its here.. http://www.brauniger.com/download/GB_IQ_Competition_GPS.pdf and if i cant fugure it out - it will be here! http://www.paramotorclub.org/forum/adverts.php
  7. i have d/loaded the manual, and can see how to put the pressure in, but how do i find the correct pressure for the day? airmet? i have since found an os map with the correct height on it, so i could just programme it in, i just wanted to see if it will give it to me automatically, just in case i go to another location where i cannot ascertain correct levels above sea. cheers
  8. ok, it seems no-one has the brauniger comp gps so il see if i can get my question answered anyway! the unit has 3 altimters. A1, A2 and A3 although it seem A3 just plot sthe difference between 1 and 2. this is my question? A2 is resettable to zero and therefore great for seeing my height above take off area. A1 i believe is the height above sea level? which is critical for my safe flying height / resrictions etc. however when i switch on, A1 gives a reading of say 1000ft, but can be altered by pressing the arrows hence not giving me a true reading??.. so other than with a gps or other means, can my vario give me an accurate height above sea level whatever my location.. and if so - how?!! i understand this may be a simple question to most folk, and i can determine the height from other means, but i just want to know if my vario can do it? cheers
  9. hi guys, does anyone else use one of these? typical me, paid a fortune for the best of the best when buying my gear, but am struggling to understand a few things, so it may be for sale in favour of the IQ+ can anyone help??
  10. great vid, noticed the atc video cam... how have you mounted it to the helmet bud? have you screwed it? or stuck it? cheers
  11. i have the Gentex SPH5 which is a genuine pilots helmet, i bought it from the US and then took it to micro avionics for a mod to use with alinco radio. its absolutely crystal clear clarity even on full chat, but equally as importantly the ground crewe can hear me just as clear - again on full power. some say the helmets are not absorbant enough for our sport, but i love it, and a couple of friends have them too and swear by them its like this
  12. hi all, my bud has asked me to pop a post on here for him. hes about 140-150kg all up weight based on the parajet macro, and is looking for a good quality used outfit. prefer low hours and parajet is also preferred / apco thrust or dudek wing. in any case - motor wise, preference is going to be given to machines with a good spares availability ie. props and cages as i fully expect him to bend one!!!. please pm me any details and il pass them on to him as he knows as much about computers as he does rocket science!. he has cash waiting! regards macey
  13. hi bud, i would say so, i didnt arrange the field so it s not really my place to grant permission, but im 100% sure that the other guys would welcome it!, rich's enthusiasm about the sport is infectious!! its in barlaston near to "the downs" and we pay the nice farmer a fiver if we get in the air. its a great spot, and takes wind from 3 directions, so flyable most times. its here: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=389600&y=336785&z=120&sv=389600,336785&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=732&ax=389600&ay=336785&lm=0 if you pm me your number il ask the lads tomorrow and text you... im sure they would be very happy to meet you. as for a field by j16 --- perfect!, only 10 mins drive for me and the other lads. cheers bud
  14. hi nirmal, is that place close to stoke by any chance? would love to pop over sometime if you get permission and you wouldnt mind a extra flyer ( or 5 ) cheers bud
  15. love the logo doc....... looks fab... where did u get it done??
  16. i agree!, as most fields are owned by farmers, you have to talk in the universal language.... "sterling" we pay our farmer in staffordshire 5 quid each time we fly, which can mount up, but we have 3 fields on a rotation to use, one of which is normally quite well mowed. good luck... and as im half way between my current field and cheshire side, id be well up for meeting you guys some time. early evenings and daytimes are great for me
  17. whats happened to the cheshire lot?
  18. thats interesting, il bear it in mind. cheers
  19. for what my himble opinion is worth, i had a revo 30 with my macro and you had to run a hell of a lot faster with that than you do with my shiny new synth 34. you gotta love the synth!
