  1. Weather is looking promising so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything can go to plan at Membury this week...
  2. Carl, I am ashamed to say that despite having owned my kit for three years I still have to get my backside properly into the air. It's nothing more than laziness and a lack of confidence that has stopped me so far despite the best efforts of paramotormike and timm9227 from this forum. However..... weather permitting I'm down at Membury this coming Wednesday and Thursday, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll finally cross that line and get airborne. If that happens then it'd be great to meet up. Where abouts do you fly from? I know Otherton is up that way as I used it back in the microlight days, but don't really know the area that well.
  3. Regrettably, yes. Hoping to move over towards Alrewas next year but for now am in Wednesbury.
  4. After the separate Lancaster and Flying Fortress fly pasts, I saw a red and white wing from my vantage point at Fratton Park yesterday afternoon - all I want to say is that if whoever was bimbling across the water had decided to land in the centre circle during the match causing it to be abandoned, you would have had 15,000 Portsmouth supporters singing your praises. And if you'd happened to have taken out the referee the freedom of the city would have been yours for the taking!
  5. Hi Alan, Nice to hear from you - we met back in early 2009 when I came across to France for training with the PMC, and this is my first time back in the region since then. We're visiting Loches today but I'm not too sure what is planned for tomorrow so can get back to you later. Cheers, Neil
  6. Just had a group of three people fly low over the house we are renting just outside of Descartes in France. One had an old blue/orange Revo, the other two wings I didn't recognise, but I'm now sat here next to the pool in already 32C heat, wishing my kit wasn't 600 miles away in the garage!
  7. And don't forget us humble Windows phone users....
  8. Well done indeed Simon, you can be rightly proud of all you've achieved.
  9. Quite some time ago I bought myself a Thule EasyBase online and like an idiot I also ordered up a 3ft light board to attach to my paramotor when it was on the back of the car. I say like an idiot because if I'd bothered to actually look at the EasyBase before I ordered it I would have seen that it comes with an integral number plate frame and lights.... Anyway it's too late to try and get my money back and I can't be arsed to try to sell it on ebay (that should read "I don't have a clue how to advertise it on ebay"), so if anyone wants one free, gratis, for nothing get in touch with me and you can pick it up from me whenever. There's a link to the item below so you can see what it looks like and like I say, you can either drive to my house and collect it (I live close to J9 of the M6) or if I ever get down to Membury I can bring it with me. http://www.towequipe.co.uk/products/smboard-3ft-trailer-light-board-towing-touring-lighting-lamps.html I should add it has a seven-pin connector and has only ever been out of the box once, which was about two minutes before I realised the EasyBase came with the lights, etc. It has lived in the loft ever since.
  10. Do I get any credit for the membership I paid for last November and never received the pack, etc for? I don't know, you just can't trust some of these online stores
  11. Probably a daft question, but can people come along for some ground handling practice?
  12. Pete, I was hoping to arrange something for next week, but was asked to go to Italy instead to visit our factory. The following week I'm booked for the USA, so hopefully the following week I'll book some time off. Hopefully....
  13. Cheers Gents, a good bit of information for me to chew on. It'll be a little while before I need to actually go out and buy one so I'll have a good read about the different models mentioned.
  14. Nice one Simon - a big well done to you mate.
  15. I'm still kitting myself out for the day I finally take to the sky, so I'm also spending time seeking advice on the best kit to use. One thing I am looking in to at the moment is whether people prefer a combined GPS and vario, or whether separate units are the best way forward. If I run a Google search on this I get overwhelmed by results, so thought I'd post on here for some thoughts from people who are already out there using them. If I could ask two simple questions - which do you prefer, and why?
