  1. As some of you may have read, Mark (cageUK) is looking at Enstone Airfield as a regular Paramotor flying field (and is doing a god job) After reading the posts and looking at the facilities I was excited at what is available on this site and looking forward to flying from there. Unfortunately there is a requirement for airband radio as microlights/powered hang gliders/sailplanes and light aircraft use this field. I started to look at the threads on the site and prices etc and realised that I could probably save money buying my own field!!! Is there a set-up that is reasonably priced and a cost effective way off learning about airband so that I can get a license? Seems like a lot of trouble and unneccessary expense when we can fly without it from anywhere else (I do understand the need for it at a busy airfield though). Any advise welcome. Eddie
  2. Mark Been away for a few days and just noticed I missed a great opportunity Saturday! I would be very interested in flying out of Enstone, given the chance. How did it go on Saturday. Eddie
  3. Malcs That was SW. Not sure how being in a Go kart counts as 'foot launched' though LOL !!! Eddie
  4. Simon Weather is better here than in Palma! Are you going to be at the flagpole Wednesday and/or Thursday for evening flights/training? Cheers Eddie
  5. Mark I was thinking about trying to get up on Wednesday evening but now that you have made it a challenge I will definitely be there! Are we calling Wednesdays Tony night now? Eddie
  6. Count me in. I will try to get there earlier if I can. Eddie
  7. Seen today: 2 people unloading 2 paramotors and kit from a trailer attached to a green Range Rover in a field near Thame house on the road from Thame to Postcombe. Proof that there are Paramotorists in this area! Was this you?, if so please get in touch. Cheers Eddie
  8. Simon What is the situation with regards to using Common leys to fly from? Give me a call any time you are in the area to fly and I will join you. Not a good idea to be on your own to take off anyway. Planning to go down to the flagpole on Wednesday if the weather is ok. See you soon Eddie
  9. Sorry Tony Just looked at my last post and it reads a bit ruder than intended! My apologies Eddie
  10. Never mind next week, what is the plan this weekend. Are you away at the Nationals Simon, and is the forecast okay for Sunday? Eddie
  11. Simon I know we were planning on doing a flight together out of Tetsworth but I didn't realise that we could both use the same wing, do you have a tandem harness? Not sure I will be able to fly my revo slow enough to stay with you and maintain flight integrity LOL Seriously though hope you get your motor sorted soon and get back in the air. See you soon Eddie
  12. Pete Sorry about the motor, I must have mislaid the money somewhere! I will bring the motor next time I am down. Eddie
  13. Thanks Mike I think I got confused by reading the other link about the fly-in first. Add to that the fact that I would love to be able to use Common Leys farm on a regular basis I got all excited, not often I get excited at my age but I do get confused easily. Would be better the other way around!!! Eddie
  14. I am sure I am not going mad, are you saying that there was flying at Common-leys this weekend as well as the last one? If so, why was nothing posted about it!. Eddie
  15. Am I missing something here? We dont have an Oxford PMC fly in, or if we do it is a well kept secret from the paramotorists in Oxford!.
  16. Whilst there is no doubt that having a fire extinguisher available when Pete had his mishap (please note that it was Petes own extinguisher that I used) it would have been difficult for Pete to have used as all the fire was behind him. There is also the problem that a lot of Paramotorists fly alone and if Pete had been alone the result would have possibly been very diffierent! I would think that finding a way of getting out of your harness with a single handle (quick release system) in the same way that a skydiver can 'cut-away' his canopy would be more benefitial. It will be extremely difficult trying to undo 3/4 straps to get away when your kit is on fire, as Pete will tell you. Eddie
  17. and bursting into flames oviously LOL!!!

    JUNE Fly-in.

What a great weekend, made all the better by the fact that I could go home and sleep as I live in Thame. Weather and nerves had a lot of the 'less experienced' waiting until the last moment on Sunday night when the wind decided to stop blowing completely providing entertainment for everybody watching!. Many failed attempts, Dave trying to take off through the edge, Simon F using his Parajet as a lawn mower, my 'faceplant' first attempt followed by a mad scramble over the edge to get up (being dragged on my knees towards the end). However, the flight I had over Oxfordshire and around my house was fantastic and worth the effort, although I think some people were 'put off' by the mishaps!. Great to see and meet a lot of people and thanks to Malcs & Mrs Malcs (must remember names better!) and Kay for supplying me with food and drink yesterday. Well done to SW we should do it every weekend. Eddie

    JUNE Fly-in.

For those of you thar can't go to the fly-in just a quick update on the story so far. The weather was pretty unsettled yesterday (Friday) but SW had been up before I got there at 4-30pm. When I left Simon F (Learner driver), Stuart (Slim) and Dan the man had been up for a flight. A few others were turning up as I left, including RAF Colin who failed his navigation test and we had to go out and find him!. Looking forward to meeting lots of people this weekend and putting faces to the names. Party time tonight. Eddie
