  1. I was hoping that money would be enough
  2. Thanks Pete. I think my main concern is that the tube is a bit kinked where the bend is and hammering it back will just kink the metal more. Will have to put it back together and take a look but I think the cage is also slightly out of shape! Will take a look tomorrow and might still have to get it to you to sort out. I hear your rates are very reasonable and there are many different ways to pay!!! LOL Cheers mate
  3. Pete As you are aware I had a slight mishap at the weekend. Unfortunately my cage was dented as the following pictures show: My questions are will I have to heat it up to straighten it? Will it be okay to leave it? There is always a risk that I will break or crack the weld but should I have a go at hammering it straight? What do you (or anyone else) think? Cheers Eddie
  4. Good point Simon, never really considered the 'robustness' of this propellor. The fact that it is adjustable gives me that little bit extra thrust that I need (being 'big boned!'). Perhaps I will get a light prop as my back up and give it a go. Alan Thanks for the words of encouragement. It still hurts your wallet and ego though. Certainly won't let it put me off. Cheers Eddie
  5. Cheers Phil but I have a spare set that I bought 6 months ago 'just in case'. I think I will have to use them now! Regards Eddie
  6. Pete Since when have you started calling me Edward? Same bloke helped teach me as well but I must have forgotten what he told me! Could do with those spare blades he used in France now LOL! Dan I thought about sending it to your mate James but I couldn't find most off it! Dave Tank is dented and the centre fixing hole was snapped out so it has a leak. Looking for a replacement tank now. If not I will have to get one from Skydragons when they get back next week. Cheers Eddie
  7. A couple of points here. Firstly, if you want to make a point to flyers in Oxfordshire we have our own section. Secondly, I do not respond to people who come on the forum criticising when they are not prepared to put their own location on their signature. As a matter of interest I fly East of Oxford and North of Benson along with 6 or 7 other pilots and none of us have a yellow wing. However, the wing you mentioned was seen by Ady on Saturday as he was driving home and I would also like to find out who it is as it will affect me and the others if he is being 'stupid'. I am aware of most of the flyers in the area and I am pretty sure this one isn't on this forum, although there are some 'ex PMC forum pilots that fly from the local area. If he is seen we will attempt to track him down and have a word. Sorry to be a bit 'sharp' but we are trying via the PMC to make this sport safer and I don't want people to think that we would be that stupid. Our LFPs at the local field do not allow flying over villages at all , and definitely not under 1000ft. Lets all work together to stop people like this ruining our sport Regards Eddie b
  8. After a 'mishap' over the weekend I need a fuel tank for a PAP1250. I believe that the tanks on the older PAPs are the same but not 100% sure. Skydragons sell them but they are shut until next week and I don't want to waste next weekend as they are getting fewer and shorter all the time. Picture of mine is below: Cheers Eddie
  9. The Oxford crew were about on Friday evening and the conditions were perfect. I was going to have a short flight but as I got in the air I noticed an hot air ballon on the rugby fields opposite Thame and couldn't resist it! (what is it about balloons that get us so excited?). Flew to Thame at 17/18 mph and circled around the balloon and passed it coming back at 45mph! windier than I thought. All in all a good flight though. Not so lucky yesterday though. Watched Tony (asquaddie) do a perfect launch in nil wind but had my first 'mishap' since I started Paramotoring. Nil wind launch and I wasn't quite ready to get in the seat (translation: 'got in the seat too early') and I dinked my propeller a bit as the picture shows: Couldn't find enough of it to repair so I will probably have to use my spare! Will need a new tank as well. Football today (com'on the Chelsea) so couldn't have flown anyway, but hope to be sorted soon. Cheers Eddie
  10. All sorted now, he has been in touch. Thanks Eddie
  11. You are always welcome Dave. Next Saturday we will probably be there, I will let you know if you text me your phone number. Eddie
  12. Remember that you can be moved, edited and deleted at my command! How was the weekend for you, we missed you at the flyin? Eddie
  13. Haven't taken it in yet Tony, still trying to work out what to do with all this power! I want you to know that I will still talk to you, maybe not directly, but in some way (through my PA possibly) LOL. See you soon Eddie ps: Cheers Simon if you are reading this.
  14. Cheers Tom Hopefully he will see this, didn't want him to think I wasn't going to get in touch about flying! Eddie
  15. Be interesting to know how long ago that was, there is some really old skydiving kit being flown! Eddie
  16. On Sunday at the fly in I had a chat with Ady from RAF Benson and we arranged to meet for a fly but I never got his text with his phone number. If someone knows him or he is reading this please get in touch, my number is on this page. If you do read this ady, thanks for the charts, they are great. Eddie
  17. Give me a ring if you are coming and I will introduce you to a few people that will chat to you about the sport. Hope to see you there Eddie
  18. Tim There will probably be a lot more about this weekend with our fly in at Common Leys farm. Look it up under 'events' and come along and say hello. Not sure what you are doing about joining us in the sport but Simon Westmore will be there to answer any questions you may have. Hope to see you there ps Barbecue and Music Saturday night will be good Regards Eddie
  19. It was all one trip, 31 miles covered according to my GPS. Simon wants to fly during the week (he only had a short flight today. LOL) and I think Fast Eddie is available so I will keep you in the loop. Otherwise we can sort your motor out at the fly in, are you going for all 3 days? Hope to see you at the fly in. Eddie

    Morning Flights

I still think it is far better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than in the air wishing you were on the ground! Eddie
  21. After a spot of Parawaiting last night it was decided that myself, Fast Eddie and Big Simon would meet at 7-15am this morning to take advantage of the lighter winds in the morning and do a small x country from Shabbington up to Simons Mums place near Whitchurch and back. We arrived in good time and after waiting for Simon to eat his Mcdonalds breakfast and sort his kit out we were ready to go at 8-30am! The conditions were a bit 'changeable' but it was a fairly easy forward launch and all of us were in the air on the first attempt. even Simon and his enormous wing. We followed the River Thame out past Thame and up to Aylesbury and then on to Whitchurch. It was a good flight out but when I turned to work out a 'scenic' route back I looked at my GPS and we had been flying at an average speed of 25 mph downwind but the maximum speed was 50.3mph telling me it would be a long slow journey back! The outward leg was approx 25 minutes but the return took about 1 hour 20minutes for Fast Eddie and myself. I landed with a litre of fuel but Eddie had not much more than fumes in his tank. It wasn't a great trip back as we were getting thrown about quite a lot but an adventure nonetheless. Simon had landed about 40minutes earlier just South West of Whitchurh but I watched him land and he was okay, it was only when we got back that he phoned to say that he had landed at Mumsys for a cup of tea and she was driving him back! All in all a good morning though and we are looking forward to the fly-in next week just down the road. Eddie

    LEG STRAPS!!!

Also, you have to have a 'flight line' check when skydiving by someone else, not a bad idea!!! Eddie
  23. Jono 51deg 42' 57.84" N 1deg 00' 46.84" W We never did get round to flying from there. Let us know how it goes. Eddie
  24. Never even thought to try looking around, must have a go next time, you may have found the answer! See you at the fly in Eddie
