  1. Hi Alan All Skydivers jump their own kit and would only need to hire right at the very beginning of learning the sport. I have to say that I am enjoying Paramotoring very much but the 2 sports have nothing in common except that they are done in the air! On a cost note, the last 400 jumps I did cost nothing as I was jumping video camera and the cost is paid for by the team that you are filming. Still prefer to be flying a Paramotor now though whatever the cost, can't beat it!. Eddie
  2. I have found that finding a site that you want to share with other people brings with it a certain amount of responsibilty. I, nievely, thought that you found a field and invited your mates and that was all there was to it. In reality, it is hard not to feel responsible and I now understand why people have fields but keep them to themselves! As a PPG1 with PMC I am going to use the PMC training manual (along with SW and Pete hopefully) to try and make things as safe as I can so that if something does happen I have done all I can to prevent it! You are welcome to come down any time just give me a ring, Thursday evening is looking promising. See you soon Eddie
  3. You are always welcome Pete. That reminds me I need to get an exinguisher and first aid kit sorted as soon as possible! LOL Hope to see you soon Eddie
  4. Thanks Simon, it has been hard work but the field is perfect. A couple of points to those that are in the Oxford area and might like to fly from this field: At the moment the use of the field is under trial with the Farmer. A few of us have paid £50 to have use of the field this year and we charge £5 a day to guests. We have to ring him before visits as access is via security gates and past his house. He has been very helpful so far and I am optimistic about making the site more accessable to others in the future but for the moment I am restricting the numbers. The site is being run under PMC rules and we are working with SW on LFOs at the moment which means that I can only allow guest pilots that are of known ability or, if they are with the PMC, the okay from their QFI will be required (there will be no 'first flights' without a PMC QFI or AFI present). I am hoping this site will benefit everybody and will update info as I get it. Regards Eddie
  5. She is right, it is a 'fast' landing! Getting the hang of it now so just a couple more. Common Leys farm, where our next PMC fly in is: Big Simon having his lunch break Sushi (must remember to switch the auto focus back on!):
  6. Thought I would have a go at loading a few photos to show that we are flying in Oxfordshire: This is the field we are flying from: Cricket in Thame: My house and neighbours waving: Robin Gibbs field and house (on left): Some piccys of Fast Eddie: [/img]http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/ww337/eddiecoleman147/310809043.jpghttp://i733.photobucket.com/albums/ww337/eddiecoleman147/310809044.jpg Eddie' alt='>Eddie'>
  7. It was good to see you Ken, as well as Tony, Jon and Alan (came all the way from Saudi to see you fly LOL) I am surprised to hear that you were nervous as it didn't seem like that yesterday. I would be interested to see the video that Anyas took , it could be used as a training aid! You forgot to mention that you still got the beer and good company as well. See you again soon. Eddie
  8. It has been a month or so since Mark and Dave put their posts on so I would just like to add my bit! I agree with Mark about the pictures but I find it particularly annoying that the location is not a mandatory requirement when joining. I have read lots of people asking about flying sites and where they can train etc but I have no idea where they are so I cannot help or advise! In a lot of cases I can't even tell what country they are in. I think we could all be more helpful if we had an idea where the members are located. Thanks for letting me do my 'grumpy old men' bit. Eddie
  9. Ask Pascy to go with you, I am sure I heard him speak a bit of French! LOL. Eddie
  10. Couldn't you have just cut the old lines off Pete, or does it say in the instruction manual that they have to be burnt off! LOL See you soon Eddie
  11. Don't forget me Simon, you know I hate to miss these things! Eddie
  12. Pat Check this from our resident French expert Ala K: http://www.paramotorclub.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3383

  14. Pete If it hurts when you 'hobble about' you should try walking instead! Eddie
  15. To all interested we are going to be at Enstone tonight to have a look round and see what the facilities are like. 4 of us so far so all will be welcome. Eddie
  16. Mark Email address at the bottom of my post. I would also like to get things done asap and would like to have a look at Enstone so if you could arrange a meeting I will turn up. Unfortunately I am busy Saturday morning but free the rest of the weekend. Will probably go to Lambourn Sunday if the weather is okay. Cheers Eddie
  17. Mark A few people showing interest in Enstone now! Let us know how things are going and if you need any help. Perhaps a meeting (in a pub) could be arranged to sort things out. Count me in. Eddie
  18. Dave Would it be possible if people can put any fly-ins on the events page as it may be worth a drive for a few of us to meet and fly with new faces, it seems that I am always reading about events that I missed! It is possible that this may be deliberate and it is just me that is not told but I hope not LOL. Cheers Eddie
  19. I have heard that there are a couple of Guys flying out of a field between Thame and Postcombe but have had no luck getting in touch. It may be that they are happy doing their 'own thing' or that where they fly from is not open to all. If I have any luck finding them, or somewhere to fly from I will let you know. Are you a paramotorist or are you training? There was a lot of keen pilots on here last year, Simon Payne, Ian Wright, Rob Ginger, Andrew Sheppard to name a few but they don't seem to be around anymore. I hope they re-appear sometime as they were flying from different places. Regards Eddie
  20. Ian Still trying to sort out fields for flying from myself. If you want to ground handle you can use the football field where the skateboard park is off the ring road around Thame. There are usually a few people kite flying there anyway and I just have a bigger kite than them!! I live opposite so if I spot you I will come over, or you can ring and I will join you. As soon as I can sort out a field I will let you know, there doesn't seem to be a lot of response on this site lately. I am sure there is a field somewhere local we can use. We just have to find it! Regards Eddie
  21. Hi Mark It was Eddie at the June fly-in, now it is Edward, am I that easily forgotten LOL??? I appreciate the value of the radio at a very busy airfield as I logged a few hours on microlites at Enstone last year! It is great to think that we could use Enstone as a base to fly from but I have no knowledge of airband radio and am trying to find out elsewhere on the forum more info. Any skill that improves safety in the air is welcome but the cost is relevant when we can fly without it elsewhere. I will certainly be interested on any info with regards the course and/or equipment and hope to join you there soon. Please keep me informed on courses etc See you soon Eddie
  22. Sounds like a great place to fly from and chill out in as well. I have looked at Enstone on my CAA map and there doesn't seem to be any restrictions or cautions around this 'very busy airfield'. Am I looking at the right place or can someone explain please? Eddie
