  1. A bit late posting this but I wanted to add what a great time I had on Monday. Good to meet Nygel and watch his first flight, and met Paramotor Mike on his first visit to Lambourn. Thanks to Simon for sorting out my first XC flight and for Colin keeping an eye on me from the air and making sure I did'nt get lost. Hope the weather is okay for the weekend and I can do some more! Cheers Eddie
  2. Glad to see that the Oxford/Bucks flyers are back in the groove!. Any chance of a call next time to give m e a chance to pop down and say hello as it is'nt far? Will be good to put some faces to names. (or arrange another meet in a pub somewhere before the weather gets bad Regards Eddie
  3. Great blog Darren, felt like I was there with you. Most important bit though, as it is a different field I am hoping to go up in the next couple of days and need to know if there are any nettles and will I need my ointment? LOL. seriously though I hope we get to fly together soon. Cheers Eddie
  4. HI Ian Good to hear from you. As you can tell I am flying now (just about) and very keen to carry on. Unfortunately for me (not for the charities involved) the Tip to Tip is taking a couple of weeks out of my training as going to Lambourn on my own is a bit far which is why I was looking for flying sites near Thame to use for practice!. It seems that everybody will be busy for a couple of weeks so I will just have to be patient. No doubt the rest of the Summer will be perfect weather! Hope to see you soon Eddie
  5. Hi Paul I am sure that I can find somewhere local but I was hoping to find somewhere other Paramotorists are using as meeting them is also important. I know there are a few people in the area of Thame/Aylesbury/Oxford that fly regularly and was hoping to meet up with them. I am sure someone will have somewhere otherwise I will have to start asking around. I dont want this sport to be a solo sport if I can help it! Regards Eddie
  6. Just an update. I have now been airborn and am keen to keep going but SW and a few of the lads are on the Tip to Tip (as I am sure you know) so I am, once again, looking for a field nearby to practice in. If anybody can help it will save me trudging down to Lambourn on my own for the next couple of weeks until SW gets back. Regards Eddie 07863156080

    Space man

He can't go through the sound barrier in free-fall! They are implying that he will be falling at a greater speed than the speed of sound at sea level ( as did colonel Kittinger when he did his jump as part of the space program). Speed is all relative to the density of the air and he will feel no different than if he jumped from 20000ft.
  8. Does that mean that if I come down over the weekend I will you be giving training, or are you going to be busy partying and doing your Tom Cruise impersonation? Eddie
  9. Thanks for the kind words Simon. I agree it was a great day and totally unexpected after the weather forecast!. Still aching a bit and nursing the sunburn but it was all worth it. Look forward to the next one Eddie
  10. If you can ground handle a wing... And move around with a motor on your back.... You can fly a Paramotor. so.... WELCOME TO THE SPORT! SW Great quote Simon! Can we discuss the cost of my training on Sunday Eddie
  11. Obviously you and Ian are talkng about the same field, I think we should have a Lawn Mower party and get it sorted!!! Seriousy though, Let me know when it is available and I will try and sort out a date (with a bit of notice) when we can have a beer. Eddie
  12. Been a bit quiet lately on our local site, is everybody still talking after the last 'pub' meeting? Not been too lucky with work/weather lately and the chances to go to Lambourn for training have been few and far between. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to getting down at the weekend. I have, however, purchased a PAP 1250 from Ian and a Revolution 30 wing from Simon W. All I could do with now is somewhere local that I can have a play at ground handling the wing in preperation that isn't too public (dont want to attract a crowd and make a fool of myself). I live in Thame and work in Aylesbury, can anybody help? Are we having a meet soon? Eddie
  13. Not too good a start when I can't get my dates right!. I would love to be there and meet everybody but I will be in Kings Lynn tommorrow night. Perhaps we can do an official Oxford/Bucks' meeting on a regular basis (with a bit more notice). Hope it goes well and hope to get an opportunity to meet at a later date. Eddie
  14. Would be great to have a beer and meet some other local parrot motorists! Away on Wednesday but rest of week okay. Am hoping to be in Lambourn at sometime over weekend depending on weather and SW. Regards Eddie
  15. Just a quick line to say hello to the 'local' club. As you can see I am located in Thame (must be somewhere near Simon Payne). Have just started training with Simon in Lambourne and am nursing a sunburn and riser burns from practising forward launches in low wind on Friday. Would be great to get together with others in the same area and have a chat about this sport, perhaps we should have a 'club meeting'. I am sure we can find a nice pub somewhere!. Forecast not great for the week but looking forward to more training and getting in the air. Is there anywhere a bit nearer to fly from when I get sorted?. Eddie
