  1. Good luck with the training Tom, look forward to reading your blog. Can't understand why you would wait to train in Spain next year though, read some of the club reports and you will see that a lot of training and first flights have been going on this weekend. Had a great flight myself today down at Lambourne over some of the best countryside in the world! Cheers Eddie
  2. Hi Simon What time are you planning to be at the flagpole tomorrow and will we be able to get to it? There seems to be a few people heading that way tomorrow! Eddie
  3. Well done Frazer, looks like you had a great time. What happened to the other 2 amigos Ben and Dave? Eddie
  4. Simon Which field, are you at the flagpole or elsewhere (as per Slims report)? Cheers Eddie
  5. Leo I would rather be instructed what to do if a wing collapses, so I can be prepared for it, than findout for myself! Frankly, I am happy if you want to take your life in your own hands and risk an accident but I agree with Ben that it is the innocent bystander that will get hurt and that is not good for the sport (or the bystander). Eddie
  6. Hi Ben You seem to have gone off topic very slightly!!! The problem with your starter motor is most likely a bad connection on the battery, a common fault at this time of year. Try to start the car and hold the key for a few seconds and the 'bad connection' will get hot, you can then clean it up and put it back with some grease to protect it. See you Tomorrow. Eddie

    weight of motor

I am with Pete on this one Leo! I can't believe I am reading this forum and a suggestion that not flying with a reserve is acceptable just to save a bit of weight, if you don't know how to use it then find out!. I come from the sport of skydiving and I sometimes find it difficult to comprehend the lack of safety equipment being used in this sport!. Eddie
  8. It would appear that we do have 2 Eddies now(SW note there is an 'e' on the end of both our names). Eddie2, I notice that you have just joined. Welcome to the club. I will PM my mobile and we can speak nearer the date and arrange to get to the show. Eddie
  9. Simon Could you highlight the funny bit for me, I can't find it! LOL Eddie
  10. If you, Dave and Frazer drive over to me I will drive us up there in my nice big motor and you can take turns in the front! Eddie
  11. I will be up on Saturday. I live in Thame (J6/7 M40) if anybody wants to cadge a lift. Get a bit lonely on my own! Eddie
  12. Looks like this may need a bit more planning than was originally thought! I have no problem with who goes, or wether we are camping or lodging I just want to fly. I had thought that if someone was going to drive in a van then he could take all the gear (and a co driver) and the rest could get a flight to Lisbon (and cover the costs of the van). Just a thought to keep the costs down. Any other ideas? Eddie
  13. Looks like we have 7-8 people interested. I was thinking of a Paramotoring trip and not a family outing (not that I have anything against families). SW can you do a time before 14th January and if so, when? Looks like we may have to arrange a meet with interested parties to see if we can work something out! So far we have Mike, Leo, SW, Ben, Dave, Frazer, Phil and me showing interest. Eddie
  14. I reckon the best bet is a van, the overnight ferry from Plymouth to Santander and then a drive (about 500 miles) down to Lisbon. How about a training/flying break Simon, I am sure you can muster a few 'newbies' for a training trip!. Eddie
  15. Count me in Mike, we must be able to arrange something, I am fed up with the weather here too! Eddie
  16. Mike Not bilingual so I put your message into babel fish and this is what I got: "I see some people contact it shortly. I have a house in Spain and I think about flying in Spain, perhaps I perhaps say oi and the visit? In England we are dissapionted with time and so if some asked for to visit and to fly then we would like. Its English is very very good. I say a small Spaniard. It receives to this friendly club". Who is the "small Spaniard?" LOL Regards Eddie
  17. Like the train idea Ben but not sure about getting the gear on board! How about a man, a van, Ferry from Plymouth to Santander and drive from there? Eddie
  18. A drive to Portugal may be an idea now that we have a contact there! Eddie
  19. Count me in. Somewhere warm, not as far as the States or Saudi Arabia and as soon as possible! Not sure where, and how we get the kit there but hope someone has a good idea. Eddie
  20. Sounds like a party starting at Lambourne on Saturday, can I come and play? I will bring a kite!. Eddie
  21. I would like one too Simon is that is okay. Eddie
  22. Hi Simon Thought it might be you. After a long, long weekend limping about looking up at the sky it seemed like someone was laughing at me as I had just accepted the fact that the weekend had gone when my dog barked and I looked up to see you power past at a couple of hundred feet. I saw 2 Paramotors flying together a couple of weeks ago in the distance which surprised me as it was in the direction of Aylesbury and Thame airport (Haddenham). What are the restrictions there? Hope to meet soon Cheers Eddie
  23. Hi Guys I can see from the Forum that a lot of you were out and about at the weekend. Unfortunately, I am still suffering from a launch 'mishap' that damaged the ligaments in my foot and cannot fly at the moment. I was sitting in my garden opposite the skateboard park, North of Thame, at 5-45pm last night feeling sorry for myself missing the best weekend of the year when somebody flew right past my back garden on a Yellow/Blue wing which did,nt make me feel any better! Who was the lucky man? Hope to be back up again very soon Regards Eddie
  24. Yes, it was me and I have now improved the pre-flight checks! I know that the kit was well looked after by Ian which is why I have'nt mentioned it before. It seems to me that the torque setting is inadequate, mainly because the bolts are a very course thread and would be much better and secure if it was a fine thread. I have retightened and used loctite which, so far, seem to do the job and is all that can be done!. Just make sure you check your kit properly before each flight. Remember, complacency kills. Eddie
