  1. Casper this is 1 of the incidents not naming the person but in his own words. " Beautiful evening, not rushing, and everything set up perfectly with engine warmed up. Picked up the throttle to give a gentle run-up, and next thing I know there's a loud bang followed by a minced hand. Must have inadvertently squeezed the throttle without a firm grip on the frame. I have no recollection of the sequence, so this is speculation. With hindsight, perhaps run-ups should only be done with the unit on your back, but I've always seen it done from behind and went for the easy option." And the outcome is " Index finger removed by surgeon, middle finger and thumb reconstructed." and he agree's he was lucky as could of been a lot worse !! we all like to think we are invincible until something happens but its like the old saying "shutting the gate after the horse has bolted" most accidents are avoidable with just common sense but some are not directly our fault.
  2. Bob this might be worth a try or go to your local lawn mower man and see if he can get something similar http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ignition-Coil-Magnet-Fits-Gas-Leaf-Blower-Solo-Sprayer-423-Engine-Motor-/222392532790?hash=item33c7a0bf36:g:fA4AAOSwmLlX7c6G

  12. Bob the starters will handle extra power as its only in short bursts, i have not flown mine since fitting a 18.5v lipo battery but it does wizz over a lot quicker, i have fuel line problems so air is entering the carb, my only concern which i will address is in flight charging on the lipo battery, possibly fit a switch to stop this from happening as they need different chargers. I did notice my starter body got a little warm when it didn't start but it normally starts fairly quickly, so hopefully back to this when fuel problems are sorted. Also gel battery weight 1.2kg and lipo battery .2kg so big difference. Can i ask who did you order coil of ? and how much please ? thanks Kiwi.
  13. If any of you read the actual properties from the actual oil makers you would get a shock, Just because it has a recognized makers name does not make it 100% better or different from the not so well known brands.
  14. just my opinion but if you haven't you might want to bend wire in and wrap it with insulation tape so no exposed sharp edges
  15. Well Shaggy you been to see Si and Col yet we are waiting on your updates
  16. Wayne sorry but this under safety matters already posted as Airprox (Paramotor V military A400)
  17. Not having knowingly flown over bird sanctuaries or like protected areas, my concern would be if flying over birds then possibly they might get frightened and scared, which means they'll scatter in-turn flying upwards and or in any direction, and are more likely to accidentally fly into me or my equipment and that's Not good and possibly end in someone or something getting damaged. Or is this just me over thinking the situation . YES comments welcome
  18. i'm just a pauper so never owned either machines and can not comment so was merely putting up a possible option
