  1. Kit ? oops yes probably bought all the wrong kit, but i'm working on that slowly, Chilly said my wing is ideal for learning ground handling and my paramotor will propel me into the air , but i'm in no hurry for a wing just yet as i know that a better suited one is just round the corner.
  2. Right more for a learning curve to others i will attempt to keep this flowing and regular . So this is my scratch and here goes, Like probably several before and will do after i know several friends who paramotor, or several have seen them flying about somewhere in the sky,so it got me thinking maybe i'd like to do that (most of us have dreamed about flying) even you at the back saying never yehh right, so next step with todays world lets google it and yes your right up pop youtube vid's, watched a few and then a few more , and then before i know it i've only gone and bought a wing (yes dear another new toy) yes wives and mums you got to love them and we all like our toys. So cocky i am and listening not my style , got me wing delivered and then 1st opportunity up me local playing field to do this thing called Kiting, this in hind sight now was extremely daft as my inexperience showed, yes it went up oops now its back down and you know you can do it ? well for a couple of hours, as you then realise its not as easy as it looks , so pack up go home and here we go again back on youtube watch some more , plus now i'm thinking i need a harness as thats were i'm going wrong , it arrives and like you do off i go again up the field for another wasted session (dohh), i'm now thinking it's cos i not got this thing called a paramotor, so yes you guessed it Mr impulsive gets one of them too (because i can), now your getting into the routine so next yes you guessed it, up the field i go kit in hand motor on back again to fail once more, now i'm thinking this is getting boring and could be harder than i thought, and No i'm not the first or last lol as you all probably know your mate or somebody who's been there. This was a few months ago as health problems intervened and it stopped me dead, and then i discovered you bunch of undesirables and it all became a lot more clearer, and it eventually sank into my head its not going to happen over night, and so now the story really starts as yes (light bulb time) i eventually came to my senses and on saturday visited Chilly, a couple friends recommended him like months ago and he is on my doorstep, already met a few fellow like minded local wanna be's and even existing fliers , so i will try to keep this post regular and up to date thanks for reading and fly safe (i'll be there shortly) Kiwi k
  3. It can be removed at a later date if Not enough interest yes ??
  4. Yes like morgy said build it and they will come Do it Do it Do it pwiddy pweese
  5. i like the look of the Bulldog and it's fairly cheap if you crash as hopefully only replacing expendable parts, but for now i'll stick with my faithful easy start Adventure A4
  6. All this running is fodder just think what you are attached too ?, its only heavy when walking around like the warm up + clipping in stage, because as soon as you start up comes the wing which takes a lot of weight off you, and if you get it all right the giant fan you strapped to your back pushes you along so your not running as such more like supporting whilst fast walking ,
  7. Andy you getting on well with your new wasp frame now then ??, i liked the look of it and they are very reasonably priced.
  8. yes come on Si move it onto the main posts and we'll see , we demand a recount recount, recount,recount, recount,recount,recount, recount,recount,recount,recount, recount,recount,recount,recount,recount, recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount, recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount, recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount, recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount, recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount, recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount, recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount, recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount, recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount,recount, PLEASE.
  9. No good for me either just a little too heavy, and how open is the flying time you might get 5hrs if your lucky.
  10. Thanks Stu might just order some off these to try aswell, Nothing ventured nothing gained and not expensive
  11. Craigo your life your choice but for the price (Not cheap chinese ebay ones) IMO i'd be replacing both of them as a precaution
  12. Mr G, be very careful i know you've about to acquire a ground handling wing + harness, only thing i'd say is don't practice until you've been to see mike as you might have some bad habits, and it will not help your progress as he'll have to stop you from making those bad habits, and yes i might be talking from experience .
  13. noddyc i'm waiting on confirmation about strobe voltage range ?. Currently with No battery connected on tick over the motor pushes out approx 4.4 volts and if i'm correct on 3/4 throttle will be approx 13.6 - 15.2 volts, but i need more info on strobe to know how well it will function with the low voltage, bonus is that its a Led light and high 18v+ will not effect it. (And before i get hung drawn and quatered the tick over test was done with the rig securely bolted to a very long metal ladder arrangement and that was weighted at both ends.) And No limbs were lost or put in any danger of being lost during this test.
  14. PatPux Thats the reason for isolating the Li-po battery. because just incase somebody missed it Never charge a Lipo with anything other than a charger designed for LiPo charging, there is a serious risk of explosion. If you'd read my post you'd notice i said existing charge would fry the battery !!!!!!!!!! Yes like said above i have fitted a Li-po battery, and for charging i own a ~Imax 6 balance charger, which gets used for charging said Li-po battery when its needed as its a dedicated charger. Without pulling my wiring harness to bits and working out where every wire feeds too?, and then making a new harness not going to happen, thats why i posted the question previously. so i will just carry on regardless and just check every open or closed circuit with my electrical tester, to make 100% certain that No charge gets back to the Li-po battery which is all i'm looking to Do !!
  15. Help me please, i know the answer is simple but its fried my brain , so the help i need is this hopefully below is a diagram of my new battery set-up. Currently i have removed lead battery and fitted a li-po (starts easy now) which is connected straight to existing feed leads, but my problem now is my unit use to recharge the lead battery, and now with li-po the charge will totally fry it, so i figured if i now fit a strobe i can isolate the battery and re-route the current to power the strobe. My thinking was on/off/on switch but i'm over complicating the situation, as all i need is to switch from battery on and then battery off. So i think if i join strobe wires into block, then just fit a switch in the positive lead from battery before the block to just cut the supply. So can an electrical person confirm or deny if my thinking is correct ??
  16. Spoke to chilly last week normal service will resume shortly , Hi John G i'm only 30 mins up road from you neighbor and will be going with Chilly very shortly, will look forward to bumping into your (literally) at North Repps
  17. Its not bribery its an incentive , and i'm all for it as like most i frequent several forums, and No they do not survive without input from others (some financial) but there's always several who will whinge and complain when said sites crash , so now to secure most forums they have to move to paid secure locations and with a lot of human input will survive, but not everybody has the finances to sustain said forums so a little outside help does exactly that, we are all here for the same reasons and i'm sure most would Not be happy if it disappeared. And what Si posted prompted me to check as i do like to contribute, because like said i hate seeing sites crash and then possibly disappear, we all visit because we are interested in said information on said forums. So if a nudge is whats needed then Nudge away
  18. yes iv'e seen the fresh breeze pictures before, i know the later solo 210's were fitted with HEIS, mine has an external coil but original owner is certain it charges the battery in flight, and mine must be a later version as it's electric start only.
  19. I'm going off you Si i just checked and never Joined so i have now , thanks Kiwi. Just checking but insurance only applies to certificated pilots yes, (Not finished training yet ) But hopefully will be making the trip to the 1st bore chaser watching . Amendment ignore the book
  20. Is that the link i sent you but lead comes out of other side ?, also i have had mine running last week and 18.5v lipo no problem, but paul the previous owner told me mine recharges battery as it flies, but forgot to put a meter on to check voltage input to the battery whilst running to confirm, need to as if it does i will have to isolate the battery but it will be Ok to power a strobe light
  21. Not a good 1st post but like said speedy recovery, and many thanks Rik wife just noticed the high voltage sign and asks what i'm reading , Now she's said i must stop messing around as i'm 53 this year and 1 cripple in the family is enough, so i must take care be seen and fly safely .
