  1. IMO how much have you spent on your Paramotor set-up and your looking at cheap fabric shelters, not sure which part of usa you live in but in the UK our climate is mainly cold wet & damp, thus why i prefer my complete set-up inside my brick building and if there a debate the Wife goes not my toys , engines electrics and possible damp conditions not a good mixture, So i'd say at minimum got to be wood but that's just my opinion.
  2. Flattery will get you everywhere you can stay a while now most do Not BITE but but some do throw their toys out of the pram from time to time.
  3. yes forgot to say its not fueled and carb and pipes drained,
  4. GD's got me thinking about insurance now always keep mine indoors over winter, not that i'm expecting a problem but better check in the small print just incase .
  5. Si can you help please, been out all day just got back, i see Col has visited in last few hours but not opened the message i sent him , if possible can you give him a nudge cheers Kiwi.
  6. Thanks Si i'll send weesplat a message but obviously Ben has 1st refusal on anything he needs
  7. Si does @weesplat do adventure spares then ? thanks in advance Kiwi
  8. MP website updated very recently and still his contact name + number on paramotor training details so i thought he still was Si.
  9. Mark i'm not from your area but hear good reports unless someone else disagree's about Manchester Paragliders (Paul Kilburn) And is part of the Lancashire hotprops and also has paramotor school on the East Lancashire Road nr Astley. http://www.manchesterparagliders.com/ Hope this helps Kiwi.
  10. Tony just noticed this and yes i did get it sorted and do have a spare but not a straight swop over as i was told when i bought them. Give me a little time and i'll check details and PM you. cheers Kiwi.
  11. Fuzzy not sure if you have seen this video, but just wondered if you do this to yours and omit the rubber rings ?
  12. when i change mine i thread a cable tie thru the centre that way they can't escape, if they were like that from original then must be do-able, and yes i looked at your picture and it looks like back end is threaded thru a loop, but without seeing a picture of soft link hard to tell.
  13. As far as i'm aware there is No knots to tie, there's a knot 1 on one end and a loop on the other and just a case of threading 1 thru other and tighten loop. If you put up a picture of your soft link we may possible be able to see if your doing something wrong
  14. Fuzzy I dont see why you cant use metal mallions, i recently replaced my O-rings on my Gradient golden 2 and they use exactly the same design without soft link.
  15. i thought exactly the same as you Si 1st post and its a question.
  16. Sounds like you had the right plan, play safe and there's always tomorrow and hopefully a better weather longer flying time day
  17. There is another way i would suggest but its a dark colour in both forms, and that my young man is Q-Bond and its fuel friendly and they supply both plastic and metal repair products, have used the metal type on the inside of a carburetor float bowl immersed in fuel and still stuck 8yrs later.
  18. FB could you not use the electric hot glue gun type, as i know it forms solid but still with a little flex
  19. If you think about it you're Not overcoming gravity as without engine or thermals you would not get off the ground, without either we fall back to planet gracefully but when their added we enjoy something called Flight, here endeth my education lesson today .
  20. Sorry but i think its more because he can and has than he needs to , how can you enjoy your skiing to its fullest when you have to keep looking or even stopping , just to see if you've got your paramotor going in the right direction IMO you'll have to mix the two together and not get full enjoyment of either
  21. i noticed this the other day but didn't click the link in Si's original post , but have now just done so have more understanding of this new rating. I think its a good idea as many days i visit and think its been rather quiet in the forum, and after looking to see who is or has been online and then thinking that not much has happened. But do think Sandmans reply of the understanding was very funny as it sounds like my kind of reply and sarcasm , and Hodders the cheeky monkey should be on the minus point scheme for misinterpreting (trying to bending) the post count . That said now off to read the latest posts hoping its more than 2 .
  22. Thankfully morgy i do Not and Will not as my wing is gerry mungus, think its more suited to tandem flying so well within the weight range
  23. I'm a ~Newbie and my understanding is that you can safely fly 10% over weight limit registered.
  24. Must say i bear no malice on anybody normally, but in this instance hopefully Karma's a bitch dirty thieving low lifes.
  25. Depends which area your going 2 , i'm sure there's an Ozone dealer in Tokyo who maybe can recommend somebody , just for an email might help.
