Those were the days Simon I used to work with a communications pioneer in Asia. He would tell the story of his trials and tribulations trying to sell the first mobile phone system into Hong Kong. He was repeatedly rejected by various large Chinese corporations. It didn't help that their original business projections could not evidence more than a total market of 9 units ! Fortunately Hutchinson Whampoa took a gamble on his idea, introducing their commercial service (selling dynaTACs) in 1984. From this he went on to start a small company called Orange !
