  1. Alan - this appears to be a double post... Andy
  2. I suppose it shows it can be done, but what is the point / benefit ? Not only does it look really uncomfortable, but potentially risky - as freedom of movement for landing seems very restricted... Andy
  3. Hi Colin - good to know you are around and tracking threads. Congrats on your 200th post by the way. Are you planning to be Xmas doo, or will you have already headed north by then ? Cheers, Andy
  4. cupid this is getting a bit cheesey..!
  5. Inspirational pics Gordon - great stuff ! Twelve of these would make a great PPG calendar... Thanks for sharing, Andy
  6. NB: These are not my own video clips. They are just some of my favourites found whilst doing my newbie research into PPG. Off across the pond now to sunny (but chilly) Colorado for the next video clip. Fantastically clear weather, perfect conditions, pin sharp video, great low level footage skimming over and below the autumn foliage... N.B. Skip to 1m30s if you just want the flight. Also skip from 6m30 onwards if you don't want to see how he warms up his hands afterwards... 7. That's awesome More to the point it would solve a xmas present for a difficult in-law Andy
  8. Looking good Jock - have been following your updates with interest. Very interesting shape of fuel tank - any reason for that particular choice? What is its capacity ? Andy
  9. Thanks for the great link Radical - an interesting interview with Mike C-J. "up to 100 man hours per wing" Well that helps explain why they are so expensive ! Also wondering what his TEC project is... Andy
  10. Cheers Simon - as I certainly have a load of holiday to use up. Just need you to organise some good weather. Andy
  11. Those were the days Simon I used to work with a communications pioneer in Asia. He would tell the story of his trials and tribulations trying to sell the first mobile phone system into Hong Kong. He was repeatedly rejected by various large Chinese corporations. It didn't help that their original business projections could not evidence more than a total market of 9 units ! Fortunately Hutchinson Whampoa took a gamble on his idea, introducing their commercial service (selling dynaTACs) in 1984. From this he went on to start a small company called Orange ! Today Hong Kong has over 12 million mobile phone subscribers, for a population of 7 million ! Some business projection Andy

  14. NB: These are not my own video clips. They are just some of my favourites found whilst doing my newbie research into PPG. Off to the Far East now for the 2009 China International Airsports Fiesta. Not a lot of flying, but this is a very well crafted video. - Check out the formation flying team (12) at 40sec - Huge watching crowds - Landing gong (nice sync) - And the taxi driver at the end (been there many a time) (As always right click on video to view YouTube in larger wide format & HQ) [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]Andy
