  1. I know of the telecoms giant AT&T, but not a bank... Andy
  2. Congratulations on your new purchase Cambodia. Good to futureproof your choice, and to justify a new computer Look forward to it Andy
  3. Cambodia - following recent discussion on this thread about the pro's and cons of the GoPro and Contour HD cameras, here is a timely review by Engadget : GoPro HD Hero review and helmet cam face-off (versus Contour HD) Useful review with video samples. Andy
  4. Two kite surfers (or should I say nutters) jump over Worthing pier in recent storms! BBC video clip here Andy
  5. NB: These are not my own video clips. They are just some of my favourites found whilst doing my newbie research into PPG. Following on from the last video clip from Turkey, here is an interesting clip of PPG being used for one of their bank adverts. Must confess to not having heard of the bank, or understanding a word of the script come to that. Nevertheless great to see the wider exposure of PPG in that country. Even if it gives the false impression that you can flout all airspace rules (This is a Vimeo video. Click on image to view the movie (Q) How do you think PPG might be used for advertising to the UK market ? Andy
  6. Hi T - no problem, as I managed to confuse a few people when I started the thread. Fortunately most folks now realise that I am just a grounded newbie, who loves trawling the web for interesting PPG videos whilst I wait to complete training and get airborne.... Heaven help you all then, when I finally manage to get my cameras into the sky I have already posted the author on the same question. I will get back to you if he responds...Cheers, Andy

    PC Problems.

Simon - sorry to hear that you are experiencing some intermittent problems with your laptop. Memory problems are always a pain to pin down, but have you checked out the following: Microsoft: Windows Memory Diagnostic ? If you are confident it is a RAM issue, I would recommend that you also check out the following website: Crucial UK: System Scanner Tool This will not only help identify exactly what memory you need, but also give you an idea of a competitive price before you travel into Swindon. Personally I always buy my RAM through them, as their prices are always really competitive, shipping is really fast and no quibble guarantee. [No I don't work for them]. Others may make alternate supplier suggestions. Anyway good luck, and I hope that you are soon able to resume your usual invaluable forum contribution Andy
  8. So whereabouts are you located Gary ? Just need a good set of headlights... Andy
  9. Thanks TJ - and an easy acronym to remember You are not wrong there. I am having great fun, and haven't even got my feet off the ground yet !I think it is the expectation of that day (hopefully in the not too distant future) that is half the fun.. Andy
  10. Glad you enjoyed the video chaps... Yes I was going to ask about that - as I have never seen anything like it.Does anyone know more about this type of prop - and if so what are the supposed advantages ? Andy
  11. Sorry Dave - not that I know of, yet. But will keep you posted should I come across one. Andy
  12. Alan this link should make you feel a bit better about your recent oil incident - Bugatti Veyron lands in saltwater lagoon ! Andy
  13. The following video is posted here as obviously does not qualify for inclusion in PPG Videos of the Week... Ever dinked your prop or bent your cage? Well how about this for an expensive landing. A Texas man drives his US$2.5M Bugatti Veyron into a saltwater lagoon, then apparently left his engine running for 15mins !!! The upside - he was a Real Estate Developer who had apparently been talking on his cell phone whilst driving, when he swerved to avoid a low flying Pelican. The video is not very exciting, as simply shows the car being pulled out of the lagoon. But car lovers may wish to cover their eyes... (As always right click on video to view YouTube in larger wide format & HQ) [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]Should have had a SkyCar ! Andy
  14. NB: These are not my own video clips. They are just some of my favourites found whilst doing my newbie research into PPG. With the worst storm of the year forecast over the next 24hours here in the UK, I thought that you might appreciate a video clip of a sunny jaunt along the coast. This next clip follows 6 pilots on a 5hr / 120km trip along the beautiful Turkish coast from Istanbul to the Bulgarian border. Great quality video in HD. Actual flight starts at 1m30s... (This is a Vimeo video. Click on image to view the movie Andy
  15. A great award winning camera ! Not heard of that one Interesting - but certainly seems to work well.Anyway look forward to seeing more great videos from you in the future... Andy
  16. Very nice picture Norman. But surprised to see the fuel tank located above the engine - is that safe in the event of a leak ? Andy
  17. Thanks Kbelcar - two more great videos. What camera do you have ? Andy
  18. Hi KbelcarThat is some great quality video of lovely countryside - and perfect flying weather. Seeing the hay bales on the tractors took me back to my childhood... Thanks for sharing with us, and please keep posting your PPG adventures - albeit from 500ft higher as mentioned by Norman Andy
  19. Great clip Norman !Had wondered what all the tai chi looking stuff with the hands was about... Andy
  20. NB: These are not my own video clips. They are just some of my favourites found whilst doing my newbie research into PPG.Cambodia - here is the other video that I mentioned earlier. Some food for thought It is a favourite as; it has great energy, shows a range of interesting camera angles, covers some lovely varied locations, all very well put together in a sub 3 minute compilation. I particularly like the low flight over the Mexican seashore (25s), the sharp peaks of the Superstition Mountains (45s), the cactus dodging (1m44s) and contrasting lush green of the desert golf course (2m05). A great advert for PPG ! Eric seems a bit of a lad and adrenalin junkie, check out his website for his world record bike jump attempts, and stunts compilation. 21. Wow - that's pretty impressive ! Wonder if anyone has managed four up ? Sort of reminds me how some folks in asia overload their family scooters Did the FB mention what wing they were under Alan ? Andy
  22. Hi Cambodia - yes I would think so. I will post a video clip soon, showing some great footage from a monopod mounted camera from some interesting angles... Cheers, Andy
  23. Yikes - sorry to hear of your mishap Alan.Hopefully no lasting consequence, but I know that sinking feeling as realisation dawns only to well. Four words: petrol rental car diesel - say no more Andy
  24. Sounds a good maxim for live Gary Out of interest what is your motor ? Andy
  25. I did notice that Dave, but put it down to him probably being the smallest and lightest pilot  Andy
