  3. Patella - part of your body best not to damage on landing...
  4. Have purchased mine Simon Also trying to persuade Surrey-Mum to come along, rather than spend the evening with her girlie friends. I did suggest she invite them along as well - but think that was pushing it a bit far Andy
  5. Nice one Pete. Not the easiest to figure out through the various classes, but a ton of interesting facts - including what I was looking for : Distance in a straight line without landing : 1,105.0 km Unbelievable distance ! How much fuel must he have taken off with... Date of flight: 23/04/2007 Pilot: Ramon MORILLAS SALMERON (Spain) Course/place: Jerez, Cadix (Spain) - Lanzarote, Canaries (Spain) Microlight: Advance Omega 7 ( PAP ROS 1450) Ramon is obviously a bit of an adrenalin junkie, as he is the same guy that set the recent "official" world altitude record - see a previous Videos of the Week clip here if you missed it. Andy
  6. British PPG pilot Karen Skinner has recently smashed the female world distance record over in Spain. Previous record was 269km. Karen flew for 8.25hrs covering 450km ! She managed to take off with 40 litres of fuel Interview video here: [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]Flight video here: [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]Quiz : Does anyone know what the overall world PPG distance record is? Andy
  7. This may not be as all encompassing as you suggest Gordon, but wireless throttle control is already a reality - if not widely available. Check out the following video clip of a test of the "Pi-Wi" controller. Pete B previously posted this on the Videos of the Week thread, but the revised version now includes English subtitles. Worth watching the whole video for the sync flying, but the relevant Pi-Wi bit is from ~4m30s onwards... Andy
  8. Thanks Simon - didn't know I had that bit of plumbing. I was going to say 'Jaw' - at the start of the digestion process.... but you beat me to it. Anyway onwards and upwards K => Knee personally relevant, as mine is currently strapped up
  9. XJS (as Alan K got away with "E-Type" ) or manufacturers : X (France, 1908-1909)) Xenia (USA, 1914)
  10. USN - driven backwards ? or with the help of Google US Automobile (USA, 1899-1901) Union (USA, 1902-1905) Unic (France, 1904-1939) U-Wagen (Austria, 1919-1923) Unipower (UK, 1966-1970) UNO (Sweden, 1980s) But must confess to have never heard of any of them...
