  1. Blimey, I was cr4pping myself just watching the landing, first I thought of hooves to the chest with the wild horses running round, then I saw the wires...!! Tj

  4. Hi All, I've been asked by the SARWorld.org ( http://www.sarworld.org ) webmaster to write an article discussing how paramotors could be used in Search and Rescue. I've done the research, done the writing, all I'm short of is some colour to go with it. Would anyone be prepared for the SAR guys to use pictures/vid that you've taken, on their website? I'd really be looking for stuff that shows the versatility of the paramotor, including the ground from the air, some take offs and landings and some stowage options. In short everything that's great! Any offers gratefully received, PM probably easiest contact. Cheers, Tj
  5. That's freed up a load of sky+ MEMORY!
  6. Sky+ on overdrive this weekend! Tj
  7. Hi guys, I'm not training to fly at the moment for various reasons, although I'm still interested in doing so. I love reading the comments and checking out the pics and vids on this forum and am picking up info all the time which is really useful and will help me make my final kit decisions. I'm glad it's been mentioned that sometimes kit is heavier than advertised as it will be my bum in the seat and my cash with the dealer. Knowing a little bit about flying helps me, as I know the effect that weight can have in wing choice and safe flying, so I'll tuck this little nugget away for the future! I think it's human nature to whinge about something if it goes wrong, and this increases with expense! I'm glad I know about the potential for 'exaggerations' in motor weight. I'm also glad I'm in the company of serious paramotor pilots that can offer advice and discuss this in relation to their experience. I'll be looking for the comfy option that lets me fly for longer So cheers for your opinions, let's have loads of them! Tj
  8. If there are any reasons to get through my studies and start flying these are it! Cracking motivator - Cheers! Tj
  9. Guys, I'd be interested in this if it came off. Will watch with interest! Tj
  10. There's a trap door. Tj
  11. Hi All, perhaps they mean it will seem like the warmest year on record because it was so cold before! A bit like an inverse "you won't feel the benefit if you keep your jacket on indoors" Tj
  12. Hi Guys, That's an EXCELLENT way of making the rest of us jealous!! Keep it up & I look forward to keeping track of you guys progress! Tj
  13. Hi All, As a result of the exellent video of the Severn Bore I have been in contact with one of the Bore Surfers who loved the video. He's keen to get some video from a paramotor and wondered if anyone knew a tandem pilot that may be able to accomodate? I can put you in direct contact if you do to save any mixed messages! Cheers, Tj

I saw a good vid about it once...
  16. Cheers for posting that, Nice use of smilies!!
  17. Awesome vid there. I've seen the bore up close as it crashes past, it's a beautiful thing. It's also 'dead' powerful: http://mhweather.co.uk/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1267726961 They fail to mention the three ambulance crew who were also there.

    Another good toy

That gets rid of having to run and launch!!
  19. Nice one! If I get plenty of notice I can put a leave pass in and eventually make it to one! Hopefully - count me in. Tj
  20. Norman, Thanks for posting that. I'm looking forward to making reference to three of those pubs later in the year! Tj
  21. Hi, At the moment I'm still on the ground planning training (due to commitments blah blah blah, study, blah blah). However I am planning to fly xc every opportunity I get. The flexibility the paramotor gives you, such as landing near a petrol station, is the attraction for me. Also, flying xc will give me further skills needed for PULSAR! Am looking forward to seeing people's adventures this year as I complete my studies and start flying lessons. Come on August!! Tj
  22. Some good ideas to look after your prop erty. Tj
  23. Looking forward to seeing plenty of photos and vid!
