  1. Check this out. Aviator PPG has made a bang up to date fantastic introduction schooling video on ground handling and kiting for paramotoring or as they would often say PPG. A Full length video of over an hour all released for free. Check the comments as if you enjoy the video, please consider to donate to a charity that they link to. I would love to see some feedback from instructors, student, other pilots. Is it a good idea, a bad idea, does is say enough, is it helpful. Maybe your old school and just learnt something new from it. Who knows.
  2. Sorry I kept missing this.. Acro arms are thicker wall tubing than standard arms, they are a little heavier, other than that they look the same. 16mm is standard hoop tube diameter with nitro and tornado. Viking mounts were horrible, I have tried them in the past with various engines. All on light weight paramotors, so maybe they work ok with a heavy machine. APCO split for me at 6'2" was way to short in the leg, feeling perched. ok for short flights, feels compact. The supair has a much better seat. £6500, oh good question, I dont know exact prices yet £300-400 premium over a nitro. So it should land below £6500 Im not sure on the carb, I do know it has been modified. I dont think you will see clutch or anything much till Jan. Initial clutch on the nitro was to soft and was wearing sooner than expected. The fibre material was improved and the shoes widened and is proving reliable. The Tornado has a similar but new design clutch which will be kept close for a while.
  3. Air Conception Tornado 280 throttle balance testing and impressions.
  4. Heres a another. AC Nitro in a padded Sol bag and the AC padded frame bag. Fits neatly in the back of and Audi S6 Air Conception Nitro in a SOL bag plus ozone Spyder all in the back of Audi S6 V8 by Surfer Vince, on Flickr Theres Room for an Ozone Spyder and still space. 5. Nitro looking lost in the back of a Range Rover. Look like there is room for 2. Air Conception Nitro in Range Rover by Surfer Vince, on Flickr
  6. Being a big fan of the Sena products and the clarity of the microphones with the noise suppressing algorithms. I put together possibly the ultimate helmet. Sena TuffTalk all in one ear defenders, bluetooth communication. The excellent lightweight Icaro Solar-X adding to the options was a Carbon Optic effect, different sized liners and a full length mirror visor. Sena TuffTalk fit to Icaro SolarX carbon mirror by Surfer Vince, on Flickr Sound quality is good, mic quality is beyond excellent and really clear even at full throttle. Noise suppression rating of 24 and seems on par with peltor 2 in general feel and use. Can be bluetooth linked to mobile phone, other pilots with sena or to a wireless radio unit to make any PTT radio wireless. Clean and effective but expensive. The Icaro with all the options £260 plus the TuffTalk unit at an extra £370. Very tidy high quality solution. The price is on point as an add-on Sena unit can be £270-300 pound and that would incorporate either sticking lumps on your helmet as per my sena20s and or hacking the ear cups to make a neat job of it.
  7. Heres a good pic. A full aircraft in a boot. Air Conception Nitro in the SOL padded bag (lost at the back of the boot), the frame and prop in the AC padded bag, Ozone spyder in the concertina bag and still room for more. Audi S6 saloon. Air Conception Nitro in a SOL bag plus ozone Spyder all in the back of Audi S6 V8 by Surfer Vince, on Flickr
  8. Its not just the hoop which is larger. The chassis itself is taller. The engine prop reduction ratio is also different. Not really possible.. not impossible but would require cutting, bolting, removing etc each time.
  9. well that will just save money on wings, whats not to like.
  10. none are going to end up in the right hands... anyone who thinks they need 280cc can't be right can they .. Mine was already ordered months ago
  11. If you look up and left, be careful that you do not hook yourself to your netting and then have to fly looking up and left, it will make it hard to land.
  12. If you have any kind of 101 mic or noise cancelling mic it need to be the correct way around and very close to your mouth. If you have a basic cheap mic as Eddy is saying, they simply cannot cope with PPG noise.
  13. heron netting for fish pond. There is often variation but its cheap enough. Get correct gap size. seen it on ebay before.
  14. Some video of the tornado being flown here on Aviators Poland Trip video.
  15. So the Wings with EN rating and also DGAC rating. They have 2 ranges. say the EN is 80-110 kg the DGAC load rating is 150kg. If you are within the 150kg then you are not flying outside the guided weight range, despite the fact that BHPA do not recognise it as a certification which is correct as it is not flight conditions tested as per an EN rating. I take DGAC as just a loading test and not as any recommendation of handling. That I get from flying it myself and from other pilots.
  16. With my send you simply cannot hear the engine. Check your mic is round the right way. Little plastic pip faces out, have the mic as close as 1cm to your mouth. Let us know how that changes things for you, it was a light bulb moment for my setup.
  17. It does work with the SR10. Take a budget radio like the uv5r or gt3 and it cleans up the audio.
  18. In my experience there was not much to choose between them in the ppg environment. I would be tempted with optime2. the 1 is very shallow and harder to get speakers in. The 3's are really deep and stick out a bit. 2 is the mid / standard size and works much the same but has a little more room to push speakers in. I have a little experience with acoustic environments. I know certain panels use a fibre wool. DIY studio will use sponge. I wonder if we can improve peltors. I know they should know what they are doing but its at a price and at manufacturing speed. Im thinking, rubber coating, fibre wool, 2 types of foam. Theres room to improve it.
  19. what if it only a DGAC certification, how does that work. Is that classed as certified or uncertified?
  20. Yes so far its hints and speculation and I am not about to confirm anything either. I understand though you are pretty much correct on every account
  21. hard to say as it depends on your setup, how much you have shortened the brakes (never a good idea as you could be reducing recovery and reflex trim etc) Did you completely remove the tip steering or just attached the line direct to the triangle maillons. Is it swinging on slow trim or fast trim. Is the prop a long way back from the risers due to being a trike. lots of things can cause oscillation. to check I would re-attach the tip steering, maybe add a little line so you can reach it inflight and see if a little tension cancels the swing, look at the wing tip and see how much or how little is required.
  22. Also another link, this one to light weight wing which launches easier than others.
  23. also note the weights quoted on ozone website is so the wing fits in the EN range. A good idea to stay within the en range as this gives you a good indication of the wings reactions. A more experienced pilot might choose to ignore the guide and choose smaller for a faster more dynamic wing, this could be why you see pilots flying smaller wings than you would expect. If I was right in the middle of size, then you need to factor in all the comments above plus your own ability.
  24. new or used? for used: search used columns and Facebook for sale groups. Revo2, Revo3, Dudek Synthesis 2, Ozone Roadster 2 are the main ones. then apco & itv. all sorts of things allow you to grow, the better they are the dearer they sell for. For new: Revo 3, Ozone Roadster2, Spyder, Dudek have confused things now calling everything universal and adding a decimal point. so one of those is an option.
  25. I would also opt for the 200 nitro over the 130cc. The power delivery on the nitro allows you to fly lower down the rpm range. The 130 works well for pilots over 80kg as there is a power band in the rpm range and its nicer to sit on and above the power band not below it. The nitro power band is hard to find and the engine is happy to run above or below. the polini 130 is 15kg engine with a little less power.
