  1. last video, i think, well thats the plan not sure if my editing skills are getting better or worse.. more creative at least to keep it interesting. This day I flew out over a big town with a real low mist, some guys went above it, I decided to fly out below it. Crazy fun flying, Malaysia is a bit nuts that way. Again on the Ozone FreeRide 19 with the Nitro from Air Conception
  2. Oh yes Cas it was both Full on & Fun. I stopped for fuel on one leg. Actually I stopped twice, once at the designated pit stop, but on my 19m ozone, I had beaten the support truck. Launched, played and found a garage.
  3. Funny you mentioned KL. Here is my video from Kuala Lumpur, flying through the city. We were allowed 1000ft, but the morning I flew, some cloud was only 700-800ft. Flying the city was great, a bit un-nerving as you have no reference for the bumps, mostly though it was fairly smooth, which was also un-nerving, plus I had only flown that wing for almost a week. Amazing place and another tour going next year. I have another video to produce with some good bits in, time is against me this week.

  5. After that the next few days were spent making our way down Malaysia. Flying my new Ozone FreeRide 19m, it worked a treat and I was enjoying all the flying very much. On one of the longer legs I played so much flying low that I felt it to risky to attempt the last water crossing, well that and the palm oil plantations / generally reduced land out options and opted for a fuel stop. Having confidence to get in and out of any field with a 19m wing was a nice surprise that I didn't really think about till afterwards. Heres another video with some clips of the flying. (note in Malaysia the air space we had was 500ft and below)
  6. Recently got back from a trip flying down Malaysia, a few of us on our Nitro's. Crossing water, up a mountain, down a river, down some beach, local public airport, military airport, a school field, a foot ball stadium, a city, you know, usual stuff. It started in Langkawi and island just near the north west of Malaysia. After flying the island for a couple of days we set off on our adventure. First thing was to cross the sea to the main land.
  7. not sure if I shared this one before. Heres an example of what can be done with titanium. I have not seen one this bent before but there you go, drop in hard enough it will bend. Crumple zone... yeah ok, I guess, a phrase coined (literally coined in) by some one else. in my best essex, this one was well bent and well bent back again.
  8. Light is good, but how light is it? I try to show how easy it is to lift the Air Conception Nitro, just as an example. I feel the the Nitro as an engine has proven itself in the 1st year. I think the frame has been proving itself strong and reliable, so here is my example of what 19kg feels like. Not the best video really. How many 190cc paramotors can do that? bit of fuel, prop covers one, pockets had stuff in. This video only come about due to a bit of banter on Facebook. No wires, no diesel crane or electric winch in the background

  10. Yes, they are from my website, genuine accurate and honest figures from a 130cm peszke prop. Fuel consumption recorded on an engine under thrust loads. Other engine manufacturers claims are not fully loaded or they just quote rpm and consumption at 30kg thrust, 30 kg thrust is not always level flight, that assumes a certain wing size. 30kg thrust is at about 4000rpm, which puts it at 2.25lph, I don't have that data to hand though. I average 3.5-4lph on an average flight with 23m wing at 88kg pilot. I can get that down to 3lph just flying slow trims and keeping a constant height. My level flight is 5000rpm on 125cm prop Jumping to a 150cm prop will get me down on that to nearer 2 lph. Reports from other pilots range from 3 to 5.5lph depending on their weight and wing size. So although the high rpm shows high fuel consumption it is perfectly normal for a 190cc engine. If you think about the walbro carb, we are 1 turn out on low and 1 turn out on high, nicely balanced. Thats stock setting which I run, it can be tuned to 50min and 50min for economy. I then wonder what other engines are burning that run the carb 1+3/4 turns on high..
  11. Speed Range is important, not just all out speed. I have a fast wing, but rarely use all the speed and instead bob along within the trim ranges. Infact the last 2 flights I didn't even move the trims, I was happy with the speed and agility I was getting a neutral trim. The Paramania has a lot of speed range on the trims alone. I think is 70/30 Trims to bar ratio. Dudek is often 50/50. Far as I know with Ozone, it changes depending on the wing. As it changes between model I feel ozone need to make it clearer which wing is trim or bar bias, not that they give you any indication of speeds. Yes I know ppg speed is very subjective but at least gives you an idea when looking at the range. For XC i wouldn't want to be on the bar for long. I myself am liking the sound of the V4 but what size to buy gets difficult to judge with out test flights. When I discuss with a pilot their weight, ability, including engine power etc, expectations. From that alone I can give them a good indication which wing in which size would suit them from Paramania, but thats easy as theres 3 to choose from. Then what about the new Ozone Freeride. Slalom Replacement. There is room, I don't know how given the range of wings but I feel there is room for an XC Viper. Same wing, more speed range on the trimmers, less on bar.

  13. thats because the moster is running rich to keep it cool. The nitro runs well in the lower rpm, we have lighter and heavier pilots happily flying them. My on an XL is about the same as someone lighter on a 125cm prop. Still see if it catches on, it might, it might not. Credit to AC for leaping ahead with such a design which is a bit controversial / a little outside the box. Its interesting and helps move things forwards.
  14. imagine knocking another 2000rpm off the level flight without go up in wing size. Fast, economical & quiet. It might catch on.
  15. I would like to see a pic with a few machines though the ages lines up. From 90cm prop to 115cm to the 125cm then 150cm. That would be cool. XL is not something I need at all but the idea of flying with low rpm just ticking along is appealing. The large frame might be cumbersome or might be easy to live with, not in flight but for handling in and out of the shed etc. in flight it will all be behind me. The extra size actually makes it only 12cm longer behind my leg which should be fine as its a machine that sits high anyway plus im 6'2" I have seen a pic with a guy wearing it who is the same size as the cage. See if I can find it.
  16. Hey Fuzzy I see the BlackHawk Talon 175 listed with weight. Anyone seen an actual weight? The compact radial MZ-175 is the original engine at about 15kg http://www.compactradialengines.com/mz175.html that would make it 2 kg heavier than the bh/ he125 version kestrel.
  17. Compared to your previous paraglider, it is a good idea to add a little brake input on your launch run, this will reduce the speed and steps to take off.
  18. A photo has been taken of the Nitro Electric Start Clutch on the scales 12.7kg, they done an amazing job keeping the weight down. The complete paramotor is 20.8kg. I found a pic of the Thor 190 light the only other light weight engine with electric electric start and a clutch that I can think of which has similar performance, 18kg, considering the original thor190 pull start is not that heavy being similar to moster classic in weight.

  20. For me Yes, the Magnetic burns less as it has no reflex the whole wing surface is still in efficient mode. It is also slower at fast trim than my GTX22. To me, reflex gives a heap of safety while sacrificing efficiency, im not a wing designer but to my mind floppy cloth must cause drag if its not being used. That said the full fast on my magnetic asks more from the engine than GTX did at full fast, GTX top speed for me was 68kmh from memory, which is why I never quoted it before.
  21. Those are the figures which have been obtained in testing, a couple of pilots have the XL and testing. Its good news so far, they are very impressed. Only testing myself will I be 100%. I am waiting on the titanium NXL for myself. With such a big prop, I am thinking of the clutch version. There in could be a problem. The 150 prop can work at such low rpm, what if my level flight is below the rpm needed to engage the clutch. I will have to go for direct drive. Will know all this soon enough.
  22. Looking at the contents supplied with the latest Paramania Revo3. They have really made an effort and the quality of materials, all feels really good. It's like a Christmas hamper in a wing bag. We have: 1. the wing itself 2. Securing strap 3. Nice Riser bag 4. inner wing bag 5. quick pack target bag 6. the main rucksack 7. a full set of spare main lines 8. set of spare parts (plastic line guides, leading edge bars, brake handle stiffness, sticky fabric etc) 9. speed bar with lines & brummells all attached 10. a t-shirt. Nicely padded Paramania logo brake toggles are rolling on decent sized harken pulleys. The risers feel really good quality. Lots of effort made here. Easy to see if your A's are in the correct hands by clever use of a split target logo. The speed trimmer is really tough looking webbing through a quality clamp, I cannot for see any slipping in the future. The magnets on the brake handles, look the same as last year, except the magnets I am sure feel stronger. A great improvement. They lock in and feel secure. Genuinely well impressed. Top of the line stuff applied to a beginner intermediate wing. I have flown the Revo3 before so won't really go into that. It flys, slow & fast, it's stable, has a huge speed range. A great all rounder that does what it should without fuss all while giving confidence to the pilot. Wing construction has improved even further. It has taped seams, lots of reinforcing, slightly over built and will last a long time. Well done to Paramania, feels like they have been listening to pilots and dealers, plus some added extras.   23. Magnetic 23. Pilot 85kg plus all gear. Motor of 20kg. 42kmh slow trim, Fast Trim 53kmh, speedbar 72kmh (all speeds were taking gps up and down wind)
  24. I see you have skybox top of your weight list. Have a look at the AC universal frame. I calculate an EOS booster to be 15.7kg ready to fly. I call is 16kg to be on the safe side, a few bolts + hand throttle. http://www.custom-air.co.uk/Custom_Air_Paramotors/Air_Conception_Universal_Multi_Engine_Chassis.html I flew the original EOS, engine seemed nicely made, easy on the power. im quite interested in the ultra ultra light setup. I would 100% advise an e-prop for the little engine. Heavy props on small engine really affects the acceleration, also if you jump on the throttle the clutch slips more on the heavy prop, where as the e-prop grips and spins up. It was quiet and progressive on the throttle. power is ok. original eos about the same as a top80. at 85kg I flew it with 22gtx and it was ok on slow trims. OK as in it worked, not great. On the 23 magnetic it was better as that wing has more lift. My only reason not to fly it was the power from my AC130 at the time was really high compared, now on the Nitro. For really light pilots I think the Booster should be a winner. Compared to Thor80, the service from EOS is excellent, they are interested and willing to help or advise etc. Polini are the opposite, deny deny deny, with a history of burning holes in pistons I have no confidence in them. I also think, why add the extra complication of a radiator and added weight of water. The thor80 looks a bit rampy on power. I haven't handled one myself and not heard any bad reports yet. I would choose top80 or EOS myself. Then Easy100, EVO 100, Snap, electric motor, rubber band. Actually a Nitro is 1kg less than thor80 but not really for lighter pilots.
